OMGoodness Dr. Tom !! 😮 I would love to stay in one of those breathtaking Monasteries for at least a month instead of the most expensive hotels. I would have loved to live there amongst monks except that I am afraid I've been a spoiled American living with all of the luxuries that it might not be as simple as I imagined. I was just thinking lately about those living life in a monastery. I had not thought of them as living an intercessory life of prayer. That sounds a lot harder than I had imagined.
Not exactly 'in the footsteps of Paul' but an interesting site to visit nevertheless. There are numerous monasteries to be found in the land of Israel. What do you think about monastic life? Is it something that Christ expects from.the church? Why do you think the monasteries are struggling so much to survive?
So beautiful! Really want to grasp the history of God’s church. When did it shift from doers within society, loving one’s neighbor to a more isolationist, monastic type of thing for His people? Was it due to persecution or some other reason?

You may visit Mount Athos "agion oros" there are monasteries that exist about 1000 years
