I’ll be honest, this isn’t the video I wanted to show you guys after an entire year. At the start of 2019, I pictured creating a video exactly like I envisioned in my head - something that would satisfy the crazy perfectionist within me, but it didn’t happen. This was a big wake up call, and left me in the final quarter of 2019 feeling lost, and unmotivated. I didn’t want to create anything, and was once again stuck with that all too familiar feeling of “this just isn’t it”. But, with all that being said, if there’s anything this year has taught me, it’s that everything won’t always go according to plan - and sometimes that’s exactly what needs to happen in order to grow. Sometimes we need those bumps in the road in order to spark inspiration and push us towards that goal we’re so desperately trying to achieve. Whether it’s making videos for a living, becoming a lawyer, designing a fashion line, or starting your own business - we all have that dream we’re chasing. And I’m pumped to say that even through all the ups and downs this year’s thrown my way, I feel like I’m one step closer to achieving mine. After looking back, I realized there were so many incredible moments from this last year that I want to share with you, even if it wasn’t the way I initially intended. So... Here’s why I spent the last year traveling the world. Hope you enjoy :)
Just wanted to let you know that this video is really inspiring and is so beautifully put together, after watching this I truly know what I want to do in life now, thank you so much :) I also hope you reach your goal

Amazing! I’m leaving my job January of 2026 (under contract until then) and I’m traveling the world for about 18 months.. I’ve already saved the money, now I’m just waiting the time out. So great to see you chasing your dreams. Wish you the fullest of lives ❤
This is amazing... You makes me realized that I have to take action if there is something that I want to achieve. I'm just a college student in Japan who loves to travel and making videos. I'm thinking about my life every day recently. In Japan, almost college students need to get a job after graduate even if they don't want to. After that, you know..... They look like they living for the job. They wear the same suites, and they have the same hairstyle... I don't want to be a part of them. I want to change my life and run away from this normal boring life. I hope I can change my life as soon as possible. "Live a Life you will remember."
Japan was the country i Dream to see since i'm a child .. and i went last year during covid .. so i've been stuck for 6month ! But this time gave me a lot of thing ! And i Saw the fact that they live for working and it's complicated to do something different . In France or Spain it's a little bit the same after university you need to find a work . And i thought a long Time about that .. i don't want to spend my life just to work i want to Travel and not only a few weeks ... It's complicated for my friends to understand m'y choice
Boy, do it. Don’t turn 40 and ask yourself “what did I do with my life?” That’s my biggest fear. Defy the norm, with your means, with whatever you have, do it. If you travel, maybe you will regret it, maybe you’ll decide it’s not for you and go back home, but if you don’t do it, you will never know, and that thought will be with you always
i’m doing this right now. dropped everything to soul search and find the person I want to be. I will tell my story when it’s all said and done. it’s been 5 months and I’ve been all over europe. Blessed to have shared so many amazing stories, met amazing people and incredible architecture and landscapes. But the biggest point of all, I learned how to be ok with myself, to deal with every insecurity and trouble that’s ever bothered me, and to find beauty in the unknowns of life. I’ve lived a lifetime in 5 months. I’m 28 years old. I’ve learned more than I ever could in my bubble back home. I had to try something new. The path may change in your life and hurt is going to come. It’s unavoidable. How we respond, react, and take the next steps after is how we learn to improve and grow. Get out of the comfort zone. Change is scary but necessary. Take a leap of faith. You never know what you’re truly capable of if you never try. We’re all just trying to figure it out at the end of the day. Good luck everyone.
The music, transitions, color grading, story telling, the places….. what an amazing experience! I’m just so confused sometimes cause I have the money and everything but don’t get the confidence to make a solo trip!
I literally had tears in my eyes whilst watching every incredible shot you took. You’re crazily amazing, I envy you for being a such great great filmmaker. This is legit what I dream of, travelling the world, living this beautiful, loving every creation that i come across of this planet. I hope someday, I can step up to do what I envisioned in these past few years. You inspire to focus on my goals. ♥️ you’re incredible, much love to you.
I'm not sure if its true, but Jakob was flooded on Instagram. Supposedly these shots weren't all his. Most of the filming was pulled off stock footage websites.

Dude I’m so glad that the RUclips algorithm recommended this video to me. The start of the video really struck home for me, I was able to understand your feeling about always thinking about making videos instead of focusing in class🤣 Anyways epic video bro!
I have been to more than 22 countries in last 10 years and when I look back all those moments I always have tear in my eyes. Truly inspiring seeing your videos.

I’m being so serious when I say this is my favorite video on RUclips. It gave me so much inspiration to start making my own videos and gave me so much passion in videography
I didn't realize I was crying at the end of the video. This is truly a beautiful place we live in and I thank you for sharing your story with us who wish to see the world!
At first, your music taste is the greatest. All songs fit sooo well! Secondly, you have the best color grading skills of all the cinematic travel youtuber! Your footage is soo clean and your shots make me very emotional. My jaw dropped at least three times and I had to pause the video. You deserve much more subscribers. I really don't know how you are able to improve your video skills, because I think that you are already at the highest skill level. Really! Just don't be too hard on yourself. I am really looking forward to your future videos!
Even if this video doesn't get the success you wanted, keep creating. Many people like to compare you with somebody, but I don't think we can compare you with anyone. This is a masterpiece of it's own kind. Greetings from Germany

you're an incredible film maker! i've been living abroad since the day i turned 19; 8 years later I'm still living abroad (currently Tromso) but I never actually took pictures or taken films of my trips because back in the old days, youtube wasn't a thing and there was no semi pro camera available for regular people. Nobody was vlogging so I never did; also never wanted to show off and make people envious. Of course with youtube, everything has changed...You're lucky to start young and big with the right equipment and platform!
i saw this video back in 2020 and now i came back here after 3 yr and dude this guys video skill are one of the best i have ever seen .. waiting for your comeback !!!
MAN! That northern lights clip gave me goosbumps and got me emotional for some reason! You chose the perfect music for each section of clips and your story telling ability is amazing! Great video, you should be proud of this! I also struggle with motivation and inspiration for making content, which is ironic since my channel is about motivation but I feel I can empathize with how you feel/felt. You should be proud of this video man, you told a story, it evoked emotion and you showed how beautiful the world is. Well done.
This video made me cry and I don't know why. I've been having a hard time lately and upon watching this video, it calms me. I'll pray for your chanel's success. Love from Philippines❤
THE editing in this video was more than a million dollars flim. I am thinking to start my own youtube channel and my mother said she believe me. But i am feeling a lack of motivation and always think can i do it or not . But now this video taught me one with one line he said [ if you don't do this you may never]. so now I am going for it and i will do my best.
Wow, my mind is totally blown away...there’s so much nakedness expressed so beautifully in your creative direction...I’ve always dreamed of relaying my message as you’ve illustrated in a meaningful and thought provoking manner! I loved it, this is the real cinematography to the core...Clear, well cut and fresh !Well done!🦋
O My God.A 20 year old can make such a masterpiece bro it's a film is a whole film.I am 18 and I'm now thinking you as a pro. I have no words but just raw appreciation.Well done.May God Bless you
You better not end up being an insurance salesman in five years, lol. You have a very good eye for composition and are very good at editing. I hope you continue this amazing hobby/passion/skillset and career you seem to be heading in. You music selection was stellar too.
I must have watched this video 100 times in the past two days-I just can't get enough of it. It's simply fantastic. The effort put into it is incredible, and the result is magnificent. If there were awards for short videos like this, it would definitely be a blockbuster.
Because of this video, i dicided to take a gapyear during the pandemic and taking a big risk. I’ve been to Barcelona and Costa Rica and just got back after 9 months of traveling and learning spanish and i’ve got to say, best decision of my life, hands down. Thank you for the inspiration!
wow such an amazing video. I love traveling and it has been one of my passions for years. currently I am a college student traveling during breaks and weekends, but i cannot wait to get back out there!
I had also years like that. Pity, I wasn’t focusing on documenting bit rather experiencing. In 2014 I visited more than 30 countries and I eventually set foot on the seventh continent. I had been traveling to Antarctica before but that time was astonishing. I live a family life with my husband - more settled and peaceful-but I have to tell you, we still make plans for traveling... Thank you for the wonderful video and wish you all the best.
@@garrett9248 I wish I had. Places I went to are unimaginable -Antarctica and the Amazon were the last one. I feel so proud for being among the few who’s been there, even on a cruise ship
This is one of the best videos- its incredible, great story telling, great editing, well done you. Most importantly, when you look back at this in 20-30-40 years, you will realise what you captured, which many just wish they could. Well done and so pleased you did it and shared with us. Wish you all the best.
I am glad YT pushed this to me - duh, since I watch a lot of cinematic travel videos. The thing about this edit being so beautiful is beyond just the visuals. It's fundamentally knowing what it takes to evoke feelings from people - from getting the right cut of footage to editing to the score. I wish I know you IRL because good lord we'd have so much to talk about regarding filming and editing a good travel video. (I can relate to not feeling it when reviewing the available footage.) Nonetheless, pretty damn amazing work!
You should always know that you are not alone. Maybe we all don't know each other personally, but spiritually believe that we are connected. We, the dreamers, the chasers. As someone said, graduate and then travel. That's kinda my plan to,o even tho graduating and taking another step won't be easy. But firstly, let's buy our ticket for freedom - let's graduate. Good luck, man! :3

Amazing! I’m leaving my job January of 2026 (under contract until then) and I’m traveling the world for about 18 months.. I’ve already saved the money, now I’m just waiting the time out. So great to see you chasing your dreams. Wish you the fullest of lives ❤
This is the best video that RUclips has ever recommended me!!
OH AYHHHH I AM REALLY THANKFUL FOR THIS!
Couldnt agree more
Japan was the country i Dream to see since i'm a child .. and i went last year during covid .. so i've been stuck for 6month !
Can you see srilanka
That sounds so cheesy bro
The dream I dreamt of since I was a kid, and I will promise I will achieve it one day.
Yes you will and i will too
@@ambitioushuman7100 I love your energy thank you🥺

Totally agree with you.
The music, transitions, color grading, story telling, the places….. what an amazing experience!
I’m just so confused sometimes cause I have the money and everything but don’t get the confidence to make a solo trip!
Just go dude
find a similar individual with similar wants, to help push you to do it
Yes! I came back from a solo tour to Thailand yesterday! It was an AMAZING experience!!!

@@Nxrth2001 bro don't even. Those are all his shots. No on needs to say this coz it's obvious.
@@NoName-vl5gr Hey man, I dont mean any offense. Its all over his IG.....
Even I'm a high schooler, and this vid brought me inspiration.
@@NoName-vl5gr Even if he did use stock footage, he did go to all those places, which is the point of this video. And its done really well, he nailed it. PS, I did speak to him myself on IG
Oh je 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Plot twist: He travelled the world cause he’s from the future and he knew that covid would happen

When someone asks me what your comfort video on RUclips I show them this. I watch this video when ever I'm feeling low and make myself remember that there's a lot to see and explore. Cheers man. Thank you so much for making this video!
Dude I’m so glad that the RUclips algorithm recommended this video to me. The start of the video really struck home for me, I was able to understand your feeling about always thinking about making videos instead of focusing in class🤣 Anyways epic video bro!
"Goosebumps" these shots give me goosebumps. Continue creating things.

I’m being so serious when I say this is my favorite video on RUclips. It gave me so much inspiration to start making my own videos and gave me so much passion in videography
TRUE
me to bro
This sent chills all through me. Absolutely incredible
I was waiting for the “shot on an iPhone 11”
Even if this video doesn't get the success you wanted, keep creating. Many people like to compare you with somebody, but I don't think we can compare you with anyone. This is a masterpiece of it's own kind.
Greetings from Germany
Das ist echt wahr was du da sagst!
thank you :)
I’ve been waiting 3 years for you to post a new video. You’ve inspired me in ways you wouldn’t imagine. I always come back to this video to remind me what hard work in videos can turn to.
I've watched this video about a thousand times. It keeps motivating me to find a way to get out Venezuela and start traveling the world. This video is just PERFECT. Guys, believe that you can do anything, hope everyone here finds a chance to travel around the world.

Ashley Chamberlain also the grading is solid
This is one of those Videos you watch every half a year and still get the same feeling like watching it for the first time

he actually lived my future and my Dreams, damn i beat up tho, but he said that; it’s that everything won’t always go according to plan - and sometimes that’s exactly what needs to happen in order to grow. Sometimes we need those bumps in the road in order to spark inspiration and push us towards that goal we’re so desperately trying to achieve.
this is beautifully shot and captured. glad RUclips recommended this.
love from Nairobi, Kenya
you're an incredible film maker! i've been living abroad since the day i turned 19; 8 years later I'm still living abroad (currently Tromso) but I never actually took pictures or taken films of my trips because back in the old days, youtube wasn't a thing and there was no semi pro camera available for regular people.
You just gave me a reason to explore. What a beautiful world we live in!
Well done.
This one is inspiring to me, the moments; Meeting the eagle hunter and the amazing Nothern lights .....give me goosebumps. Superb!
This no joke brought me to tears. Absolutely incredible! The cinematography and is spectacular!
This video made me cry and I don't know why. I've been having a hard time lately and upon watching this video, it calms me. I'll pray for your chanel's success.
Love from Philippines❤
"This guy is on another level in his work." Honestly, you are a Dream chaser Man🖤
THE editing in this video was more than a million dollars flim.
Had to save this video and share it with all my friends. I've got to stop finding excuses everywhere and just go see the world once for all
O My God.A 20 year old can make such a masterpiece bro it's a film is a whole film.I am 18 and I'm now thinking you as a pro.
Dude, you're living the life I always wanted to experience and this makes me so happy
When he said .’´the Philippines.the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited with ».goosebumps 🖤
Bro I don’t know you but you inspired me a lot today. Everything is dope 😱😱😱
As a person who has never been on a plane before, this video was overwhelming and wholesome. Thank you

wow such an amazing video. I love traveling and it has been one of my passions for years. currently I am a college student traveling during breaks and weekends, but i cannot wait to get back out there!
The last 40 seconds of this video gives me chills every time
THIS is literally what I want to do with my life! Thank you for sharing this.
Me too man I want to enjoy my life and live it to the fullest
I had also years like that. Pity, I wasn’t focusing on documenting bit rather experiencing. In 2014 I visited more than 30 countries and I eventually set foot on the seventh continent. I had been traveling to Antarctica before but that time was astonishing.
I live a family life with my husband - more settled and peaceful-but I have to tell you, we still make plans for traveling...
Thank you for the wonderful video and wish you all the best.
Do you wish you documented it?
@@garrett9248 I wish I had. Places I went to are unimaginable -Antarctica and the Amazon were the last one. I feel so proud for being among the few who’s been there, even on a cruise ship
This is one of the best videos- its incredible, great story telling, great editing, well done you. Most importantly, when you look back at this in 20-30-40 years, you will realise what you captured, which many just wish they could. Well done and so pleased you did it and shared with us. Wish you all the best.
You lived two of my dreams, do a trip like this and record it. This motivated me so much! Thank you

This is a true Masterpiece of film-making! Shots, music, timing - all Perfect!
The cinematography is amazing in this video! No crazy edits, just really nice visuals. What camera did you use?
Thanks for your inspiration Jakob. You are missed very much.
(I can relate to not feeling it when reviewing the available footage.) Nonetheless, pretty damn amazing work!
my dream is similar to this but I'm so deep into university now, I don't know what to do since I'm scared ill throw it all away and end up homeless
GRADUATE THEN TRAVEL
Dude same here
You should always know that you are not alone. :3
@@AZANlA Exactly, learn more about the field you want to be working in, till you graduate you will have full knowledge and skills which you can use to pursue your dream job.

Wow! This is incredible. The story the shots the colour grading gives this video so much more prespective! Amazing!!!
This is so breathtaking, you had me crying by the end. I’m truly speechless.
This is unbelievable the shots, the color grading and just the flow through all the magnificent places, you really nailed it
my jaw just dropped at the beauty of these shots, absolutely insane.
