We bought a '19 Atlas. It's clearly a loss-leader product for VW - we got ours for about 10k less than the Pilot or Ascent. so MSRP isn't a factor for that car. Also i hear everyone talking about how much plastic there is - i have kids - plastic is easy to wipe down. regarding storage - we didn't have a minivan before, so the Atlas feels like an upgrade, storage wise for our kids. Also cubbies are a place for kids to leave behind things like food and garbage. I don't need to spend 1 hour a week cleaning out the car.

Any of these would make it up (and down) the mountain but after careful nerdy research I believe the Subaru is the best choice for several reasons while respecting anyone who reaches a different conclusion for themselves. Quite a few words to describe the Atlas on this review contradict what other reviewers say so buyers - make sure you validate for yourself re: materials/workmanship, ride and handling, engine characteristics, and whether this is a pass or fail as Volkswagen’s first effort in the segment.
You guys are literally just using an old Pilot in your video and pretending it is new. The new one has a new digital diplay, new steering wheel, volume knob, different transmission gearing, etc. So I'm not sure this review means much of anything.
All the VW dealers near me are advertising $7-9 thousand discounts on 2019 Atlases on their websites, before the military, student or supplier discounts and before you start bargaining. This makes it much much less expensive than the others (by $10-15k).

Not as bad as other hondas? I respect everyone’s opinion especially the ones that are different from mine. But with all due respect- wtf are you talking about? Every single Honda car is one of the best sellers of its class.
"if you don't want a minivan because they're uncool" That gets right down to what these vehicles are about... You want a minivan but you don't want a minivan. So we make a minivan with a bigger hood and less room and don't call it a minivan even though it is a minivan that's just a little less roomy, fuel efficient, and low-to-the-road in weight balance. But they do look nicer. Probably the best example is one that's missing here: GM's Acadia/Traverse/Blazer/XT5&6/Enclave platform. Perfect example of a minivan that hates being called a minivan.

Kip Lonto drove all 3 and I do disagree with their conclusions. The Sabastian reviews way wrong and his comments for sure did not hit the marks on what each is. I've got a manual Outback, will buy an automatic once Subaru wakes up and gets rid of the CVT boxes
CVT is fine. Stop copying others sheep behavior.
@@PQR5CHE nah they suck. Owned one never again.
Those days are over. Better start looking at other brands
No to mention this video is sponsored by Subaru :)
Logan Helms how do you know?
I have been an AutoGuide subscriber since 2016, and I really enjoyed Craig Cole, Mike Schlee, Colum Wood and Sami. But now your videos are too long and lack consistency, they seem to have lost the charisma and sense of humor that made the trademark of AG for years. Also, the level of profession has been not as good as before, with too many little mistakes in the graphics, information and speech, making the videos less entertaining. Furthermore, the content needs to be more diverse, I really miss the old features like Feature Focus, The Skinny or Mean Comments. I really think you guys can do better.
The first couple minute I knew you guys are in favour for the Subaru don’t forget the super have CVT that sucks Subaru claiming their vehicle are capable to do off-road but not with the CVT I would never buy CVT transmission
Show me any other manufacturer of 8 seater sub that uses a 4 cylinder engine. Answer of 12 manufacturers NONE
The atlas has a Turbo v4 as an option.
Sebastian, you are just being their clown, come on man!!! And the Ascent rocks!!!
And when I mean "their" I mean all the AutoGuide itself. That's my thought.
Hilarious! Great job guys!
i wouldn't say that pilot and atlas much expensive than subaru, top of the trims they are all average about 42-43k(carguru)
*Shitbaru
What a fake video and info commercial for Subaru. It you're not going to do a honest video don't do one.
Nice hulk Rolex and Seiko Panda!
It’s not a hulk lmao..
What? No Telluride?
Is the camera person drunk?
17:09 that evil laugh
Where is CX-9 ?
Mazda usually declines like they did with the cx-5 in the cars dot com/Motorweek. They just can't compete being the smallest and supposedly family oriented.
Pilot feels slow loll 0-60 in 6.1 seconds
I agree it is faster than the Ascent, but they say the Ascent is faster? They need to clarify about the powerband feel. Most of the public won't get that.
@@RPG__Dave because it's an NA VTEC most of the power is up high, so it probably didn't feel as torquey in everyday driving. That being said, keep the revs up and it'll easily smoke the others
@@UmarTheGreat10 problem is they said Honda felt slow, despite being the fastest. Vw felt too "jumpy", while being the slowest, with the lowest torque rating. And the subie was the best, despite having a cvt which completely destroys responsiveness. They have no clue what they are talking about.
Kip Lonto drove all 3 and I do disagree with their conclusions. The Sabastian reviews way wrong and his comments for sure did not hit the marks on what each is. Yes some say 3 in the 3rd row but that counts for kids only and if you put 3 teenagers in the 3rd then good luck. Oh yes kids have to be very skinny to have 3 in there. VW could have done the same and put a third seat belt in the 3rd row but they are realistic. As to leg room well in every test the Atlas has won that category and seating position and night is one of the best out there. Now for needing a refresh. All SUVs seem to be now going with hard plastic as it is a great way to be more rugged and take a beating The bottom lime the reviews they did here was clear from the beginning that they are favoring the Ascent. As to ride harshness now this gets confusing one says needs to have the VW sporty ride but his is an SUV and 9 10 reviewers have praised the ride quality of the Atlas but also said that yes the Honda is more tamed down.
Let’s put it this way to each his:her own and the buyer needs to do his/her own testing as each one has a different take on what they like.
Do you work for Suburu?? The 4 cylinder is a big mistake; will crush resale value.
Not sure
its not slow the pilot is an amazing vehicle
