This concert. A 20-year-old artist with a couple of EPs under her belt took (also this) song that she wrote at age 9 and rearranged it for organ, male choir and string ensemble from her alternative electronica-pop and presented THIS. It is a masterclass in the very fine art of creating tension with harmonics for example. She has all these harmonising parts comfort us through the entire song - until exactly 5 minutes into this video (not the song) where one notice the tension because they all releases it. That is classical composer gurus-level composition going on right there. Of the current peers, she is at Hans Zimmer-level of compositional instinct (for those who do not know it, he composed the score for Rain Man, The Lion King (the animated one), The Thin Red Line, Gladiator, Inception, Dunkirk and Interstellar - to mention a few movies that may have affected some of us emotionally. I am not predicting this, but it is a heads up - Aurora may not be a performing artist forever. Because she, as an empath, has this almost visual understanding of her music. I do not have "synesthesia", but I can somehow experience colours, shapes, smell and taste from some of her best music. Someone will ask her to write film music in not so many years. If I say Ennio Morricone - we could enjoy "The Good the Bad and the Ugly" theme - but think instead of "Gabriel's Oboe" from "The Mission" now after hearing this performance. That same quality of embracing the sacral. Think about John Williams - the greatest of all. The theme of Jaws (remember the "plonkyness" of "Different kind of human). Or think about "Close Encounters of the Third Degree" (Think about Aurora's "Mothership"). Pay attention to her performances with the "Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra". Her compositions radiate "cinematic". Not too many have discovered it yet because she as a performer is so mesmerizing and powerful that it does not fit a cinema (where the score is in the background). But the way she composes sure is cinematic. For all who does not believe me - please listen to "Boxes" when she was playing with pure horror. It is pretty unnerving because it is that fraction off from what one expects it to sound like. It sounds like "Little Redhood" skipping happily - just a bit off (by understanding "tension in harmonics" instead of simple tools like creating disharmonies to create the same feeling). It is why the twins in "Shining" are so scary. Two pretty girl-twins in their best outfit - does not get much prettier and harmonic than that. Until the harmony is given enough tension to give grown humans nightmares for life! I am saying it is good Aurora has the purest of hearts thus leaving us uplifted. As much as I love Jóhann Jóhannsson and the score of "Arrival" (and Denis Villeneuve's "Prisoners", "Sicario", or "The Theory of Everything") - Aurora with time can do one better. She is painting music. Like she demonstrated at her Nidaros concert. (I hope she will tour and go all out on energy with her material for at least another decade though). (Now I wrote myself into realizing that I want Aurora to compose the score for the new Avatar sequels - because it makes sense)
This concert is a masterclass in performance and that is something at her young age. Only the very best artists have the skill to be consistant in elevating their music to a different level live.
Auroras lyrics should be on the curriculum for every school in the world. They are all amazing and meaningfull, and with universal topics. 🤔Just a thaught.. I love this consert so much! 😊
I plan to sit down with my grandkids soon, watch THE SEED and QUEENDOM, and then discuss it with them. What do they see in the messages AURORA gives. Indeed, school could certainly use this as teaching material.
Every single song/performance from this concert is unbelievably beautiful. I've not heard anyone sing live as well as AURORA, especially with so much emotion.
Think we're the lucky ones , great reaction, nice song .it's very ghostly , powerful, beautiful, the best yet ,and I have to say what a dress 👗 take care stay safe all the best from the UK 🇬🇧💞🌹
Mike! You CAN sing! Anyone can sing. Especially since it means something to you and because you have the desire to express true emotions through your voice, you could learn to sing easily. Don't sell yourself short!!
The organ is pretty front and centre in her song "Winter Bird" at this concert. One of the few songs where i love the music video as much as i do the live performance. Great reaction as usual. Aurora is playing in Trondheim again this August, though outside Nidarosdomen this time, not inside. I've got my tickets and looking forward to it like crazy!
Yeah, it gets to you, and Aurora is fabulous and spellbinding as always. But let's send lots of warm thoughts to the choir and the whole bunch of people that made this incredible event possible. And that includes the brilliant people from NRK, they ARE quality, at Nidarosdomen, HAIK documentary and concert, Christines radio festival and so many other occasions. Kudos.
Yes. She is young but she wrote it when was a 9 years old (always mind blowing, especially if you consider f.e. lyric). Anyway this song is one of my favourites of her. EDIT: I really like your reactions :).
Hi there, again... now you've reacted to the most beautiful songs from this concert... and "Lucky" makes me emotional every time I see and hear it, since I can somehow relate to the chorus of this song... I can ALSO be lucky to be alive (but for a different reason than Aurora). Thank you so much for getting back to Aurora... and Ginger : You succeeded in making me have my ears constantly focussed on Aurora and my eyes constantly on you. Holy Moly... that dress made my jaw drop ! ;-) Best wishes from Germany : Gerry
I'm convinced that the 9 year old who wrote that was totally channeling her 500 year old spirit. It's one of the most astonishing and absolutely healing aspects of her music to me. She speaks, in every song, to things so universal to every human. Such a keen observer and contemplator of our human selves! She has said several times that some of these songs she wrote at that young age was to sooth herself over the dark aspects of human nature she observed around her and upset her kind and sensitive spirit so much. (She didn't say kind and sensitive - that's my add-on). Did you both dress that way on purpose to blend in so pleasingly with the Nidarosdomen venue?! :D
AwZm! Made me tear up a bit here.... YES Mike, imaging being able to say.... "Oh yeah, I was a part of that concert" knowing that you've contributed in any way. And Ginger, looking smashing, and color palette to fit the colors of Nidarosdomen. Magical blue shades.
Is LeNa in love? If that is true, I am happy for you! Embrace it, real love may only come along once or twice in our lives. Lucky is such a touching song, one of Auroras best. Hard not to tear up. Stay safe, Lena, Ginger and Mike. There is a glimmer of hope that these crazy times soon will fade away 👍💕
Great reaction once again guys!!! I think this is one of her best performances, just a great emotional song about life. Here is another suggestion: Infections of a Different Kind live at HAIK.
The two of you are so sweet! Greate reaction as always. Since Aurora is calling her fans «warriors and weirdos», I am shore she is OK with you asking her to join you in Nidarosdomen, Ginger. Weird is a god think with her and the rest of us😅
recommend her live performance of Infections of A Different Kind live from HAIK concert ( truly such a powerful performance) and The Seed (NatGeo Earth Day Eve 2021)
I too, feel lucky today to see this in my youtube steam. But not as lucky as Mike feels today, I suspect :) This song has a better "let it go" moment than frozen.
Aurora is a priceless treasure. Next, "Winter Bird" from Nidarosdomen and "The River" from HAIK. Also, for Aurora dancing, having fun and her outfit (all of which Ginger will love), "Conqueror", Aurora's US television debut on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show (ruclips.net/video/IwNoXFgg8lo/видео.html).
Yes! Just to see a different side of Aurora. Also Apple Tree might shock you. And then Soft Universe live in Paris... a less somber side for some balance.
For me is this Aurora's anti suicide song. If you are about to kill yourself, try to remember the good times again because there were too. And just as the good times have passed, so will the bad times, you just have to persevere because nothing is infinite. good times will come again and then you will be lucky to be alive. Then it will be like seeing the light for the first time. Aurora once said that you can always find something positive, if it's just the fact that you have managed another day.
If you want to go on a new norwegian adventure, check out "Kaizers Orchestra - Kontroll på kontinentet Live @ Vega". Its an alternative rock band from Norway. I can guarantee that you have not heard anything like it.
No one gives you goosebumps like Aurora! And look at you guys, being all colour matched for this clip. Nice! And did I hear you refering to "that lady, in the church, with the organ"? Did you actually react to my preious suggestion of Ionnalee singing "Dunes Of Sand" live in a small church? I'll have to check your previous videos to see if I've missed something. Please let me know if you did and it was blocked for some reason, so I won't keep suggesting it again and again in vain... (It's here if you haven't yet checked it out: ruclips.net/video/8Dt3-1la9ug/видео.html)
if i would have to choose (from memory) 3 more songs from the same concert which you did not react it would be: - Winter Bird - Little Boy in the Grass - Walking In The Air
I love Aurora, and I love your reactions to her, but if you ever hop in your way-back machine, check out Jane Siberry. Not exactly Aurora-like, but a similar kind of musical artist. "Map of the World part II", live, is a favourite.
Really would wish you'd wear something a bit more tasteful... Yes you're pretty, but your husband there isn't wearing a jockstrap and shirtless to showoff how he looks, right?
Not bad for a 9 year old girl to write such lyrics. Yes, she was 9 year old when she wrote Lucky.

Holy crap that was long lol......but it was actually a really interesting read. I totally concur with you!
This concert is a masterclass in performance and that is something at her young age. Only the very best artists have the skill to be consistant in elevating their music to a different level live.

There you have it lovely couple. My favourite song of all time. The hymn of life. Thank you!
The same with me.
Yeah, let’s visualize Aurora return to co-create a magical concert in Nidarosdomen🌏💫🧚🏼♂️
Much love from Trondheim, Norway❤
Love the dress ❤
Thank you 😊 - G
OMG haha ''safety bumpers' !! Really enjoying the banter 🤣
Every single song/performance from this concert is unbelievably beautiful. I've not heard anyone sing live as well as AURORA, especially with so much emotion.
AURORA.....what could go wrong w her... i mean really? just heavenly and moves your soul in the best way possible
This song is a Hymn to life I think.
truly, i feel so lucky to know her. She raised me up
You litteraly know her?
She never fails to reach in and play with my emotions. Just beautiful
You weren't thinking of Eivør, where you?
Of the concerts I have been to or seen on the screen, this is the one I would have loved to be at. Every song a masterpiece.
A heavenly haunting ethereal angelic singing voice 💕💕💕
Hey guys, why don’t you plan your Norway trip around Aurora’s concert schedule? Just don’t forget to vlog everything!
Can artist do Concert now..? There is still a Pandemic going around.
😂😂😂😂
I'm lucky to have seen an angel on earth
MIND BLOWING.
She is truly an angel on this earth gracing us with her voice and emotional singing! Great reaction, But what can you say about perfection!
Think we're the lucky ones , great reaction, nice song .it's very ghostly , powerful, beautiful, the best yet ,and I have to say what a dress 👗 take care stay safe all the best from the UK 🇬🇧💞🌹
The backup singers appear to be in agreement with Mike. - in a sort of awe that tey were participating and contributing to this masterpiece!
Mike! You CAN sing! Anyone can sing. Especially since it means something to you and because you have the desire to express true emotions through your voice, you could learn to sing easily. Don't sell yourself short!!
The church organ is a Steinmeyer organ with 9600 pipes weighting 40 tons, one of Europes largest organs.....
Ginger, your lucky dress make me feel lucky to so, Thank you. Good to see you guys again. Love from Norway.
The organ is pretty front and centre in her song "Winter Bird" at this concert. One of the few songs where i love the music video as much as i do the live performance.

Part of Her magic is that she still looks like a little girl. She never seems to age. She is a fully grown woman now, but looks like a 15 yr old.
Now I know what heaven looks like
♥️ Thank you! Such a beautiful song..
I love this song and the whole concert is Amazing! Also you look so beautiful, ginger ! 🥰💓❤️🙂
Thank you, Jolene 😘 - G
Yes. She is young but she wrote it when was a 9 years old (always mind blowing, especially if you consider f.e. lyric). Anyway this song is one of my favourites of her.

This hole concert is fantastic, I recommend winter bird, in the same concert

Guys she just put out a new version of Runaway with just an acoustic backing and of course Silja Sol Dyngeland with backing vocals.
And FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE 🤘🤘
I’m with you mike. Second trumpet also the limit of my ambition
Have you guys heard "it happened quiet" from the same show? It is incredible
recommend her live performance of Infections of A Different Kind live from HAIK concert ( truly such a powerful performance) and The Seed (NatGeo Earth Day Eve 2021)
the whole concert is a treat. i'd like to see her doing more like this. less pop like on her records and more classic
Whispers of a concert in Bergen cathedral this December if that matches your planning :-)
Beautiful Ginger! Did you guys see the HAIK concert? She's so happy there.
I too, feel lucky today to see this in my youtube steam. But not as lucky as Mike feels today, I suspect :)
This song has a better "let it go" moment than frozen.
Lucky Mike has at least two reasons to be happy!!! ;)
Lol true
I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT🤣🤣🤣
She definitely has an old soul
