@@jasonbell2131 In the case of a perfect game it's usually the starting pitcher who finishes. I read that when the ninth inning of Don Larsen's perfect game against Brooklyn, Whitey Ford was warming up in the Yankees bullpen, but was not needed as Larsen finished off the only no hitter in World Series history.
I'm not referring to this game. I'm referring to Felix Hernandez's perfect game he had in August 2012. If I didn't know the difference between a perfect game and a simple no hitter, I wouldn't refer to them as separate things.
gameaddict51 A no hitter is when there are no base hits. A perfect game is when no one reaches base. if someone reaches base on a walk or an error, then it is not a perfect game.
gameaddict51 I'm sorry, I didn't read your message correctly. I thought it said that you didn't know the difference and you don't refer to them as separate things. I missed the "if" in your message. That was my bad. Again, sorry about that.
You might have found out during the past six years, but Dave Sims has said he doesn't believe in the jinx and thinks that worrying about jinxing it is what jinxes it.
Watched this live. As a Mariners fan I truly think our inability to ever have a half decent offense has kept people from fully understanding how many great pitcher careers were wasted in Seattle
Mariners must have had a ton of walks I'm Mariners fan but I don't remember a lot of those players I remember Saunders and Ichiro don't know who the infielders were also remember Kyle Seager
With all due respect to the Mariners, but of the two 6 pitcher no hitters, the Astros in 2003 was more impressive because it happened against the Yankees in Yankee Stadium, who haven't been no hit in over 6000 games and their starter Roy Oswalt was removed due to injury after the 1st inning. So the relievers had to pitch 8 no hit innings against the best organization in baseball. But still, good moment for Seattle.
Wilhelmsen, the closer, admitted he did not realize it was a No-hitter until everyone started going crazy after the last out
He was probably like "what got into you guys"
My favorite thing about this game
More rare than a perfect game! That is amazing. Oh and six pitchers that didn't give up a hit. Incredible. Way to go Mariners!
Jared Cloud not necessarily, in a perfect game, it relies on one pitcher that can get tired, other than a bunch of pitchers that are warm
Jason Bell he said more rare. Not more difficult.

I'm glad the Mariners have had a no hitter and a perfect game. But a World Series title or even appearance would be better.
Idk if you are referring to that game but if you are that wasn't a perfect game.

Yeah, no shit.

It's weird seeing the Mariners bullpen do it's job.
The Mariners need to just go to the World Series so no hitters and a missed opportunity in 2001 can stop being the highlights of their history.
True
GameAddict51 and ichiro
i guess the myth that mentioning a no-hitter/perfect game while it's in the process is false, it only applies to Yu Darvish

Only 2 pitchers who got wasted in Seattle were Felix Hernandez and Hisashi Iwakuma. The M's weren't very fortunate with developing pitching either
@@shoukatsukaithe Japanese posting system also kind of fucked over kuma
If it makes anyone feel better about millwood getting hurt just know that he pitched a no hitter back in ‘03 when he was with the phillies
Feel bad for Millwood. If he didn't get hurt he looked like he had the stuff that day to get the no-no himself. I'll take it though.
I was at the game
That was awesome pitching that day against a Dodgers team with Dee Gordon... their current 2nd baseman
I watched the Dee Gordon out in the 9th at .25 speed and came away with two thoughts: It sounds funny as hell, haha. And, Gordon was out, just barely.
I only just realized the Dodgers' opposing pitcher in this was Nathan Eovaldi
As an SF Giants fan, I'm glad the no-hitter happened against the Dodgers
pause at 4:49 the ball is about 1 foot from the mitt and the runners foot is on the bag.
His foot is not on the bag. It's still above it.
With a no hitter going the ump was not going to call him safe
gameaddict51 Tie goes to the runner though.....
Please give me a link to a website with the rule book where it says that because I know you're just assuming that's a rule.
gameaddict51 Ah, yes, the ol' "tie goes to the runner." Proof that some people don't know baseball like they think they do!
Lol. Gordon is with Seattle now haha
Why was Milwood pulled? He had a no hitter going!
On the first pitch of warmups that inning he hurt his groin
+Ryan Ferretti yeah...
Millwood was the losing pitcher in Mark Buehrle's first no hitter against the Texas Rangers in 2007.
Mariners gave me a quite a show (:
Upon further inspection it looks like he was out by a hair but this quality doesn't make it easy to see this.
1:34 he was safe? O_O
Yeah I know he I looked closer
I was there, I would have been pissed if they blew the no-no and still won
I ranks as my second fave M's game that I saw in-person
he was injured
it's funny because brandon league is with the dodgers now
That reminds me. #SaveDodgerFilms
Aidan Gertson Shut up boomer
he was injured.
Mariners must have had a ton of walks I'm Mariners fan but I don't remember a lot of those players I remember Saunders and Ichiro don't know who the infielders were also remember Kyle Seager
Dustin Ackley and Justin Smoak were the two high potential youngsters from 2012 that they couldn't develop properly
isn't it pretty bad sportsmanship to try and break up a no hitter with a bunt?
Tom no because it was still only a one run game it would be if it was a blowout
This was when the mariners bullpen was good. With the exception of Brandon league
Sims ruined it by saying Williamson instead of Wilhelmsen.
The 1st out of the 9th looks like that guy was safe :/

***** I know. But still, 8 no hit innings by the relievers vs 3 no hit innings by the relievers.
***** Not dissing you. I appreciate your opinion.
They should have left the starter.
you don't pull a starter if he is throwing a no hitter or perfect game...
Ben Muller he was hurt lol
@@TerrisLP whatever he just wobble back on to the field and let's hope he well
another 1 run win. pathetic
