3 all star nods, 2 rings, World Series MVP, ALCS MVP and a no hitter to finish...didn't really live up to the hype fully but he didnt have a bad career either.
as a sox fan I wish I could say hall of fame but idk , he does remind me of eli manning where he was a top prospect who won 2 rings and clutch in big games but he left more to be desired
It’s still weird that josh Beckett played for the dodgers lol and he threw a no hitter. I actually remember him being solid for us but it wasn’t a long time so it’s easy to forget
I remember this game it was crazy. I also remember A.J. Ellis injured from celebrating and awkwardly landing on Drew Butera's catchers mask. It was pathetic because he was just finished recovering.
As a lifelong Phillies fan I took my 55 year old new wife to her first professional baseball game. She only likes football and the Washington Redskins. She witnessed this no hitter and when I explained how rare it was she seemed indifferent. Still live her though.
I came down to look for this comment after I heard him say "the greatest game of his career".. Haha. A no hitter is definitely not greater thn pitching a complete game to win the World Series....
Beckett was easily my favorite pitcher of the past decade. He was robbed of Cy Young in 2006 (whatever, he was masterful in the postseason and Sabathia was garbage as always), and he had two of the most defining postseason performances in the modern era.
CC Sabathia had better numbers than Josh Beckett in 2007, more innings pitched, strikeouts, shutouts. Only thing Josh had more wins than CC, but CC was the rightful winner.
I’m a lifelong Cubs fan and I will never forget when he was like 20 and just flat out shut them down in the playoffs that infamous year.. since then even though he basically stopped us from getting to the Series, he has been one of my all time favorite pitchers and I was very happy for his no hitter! Absolutely disgusting stuff and what a cold calculated delivery..
I was at this game as a Phillies fan. I was happy for Beckett. He's always been a favorite of mine. I don't know if it's the greatest game of his career considering he's won 2 World Series. But I was surprised how excited he was.
Dude his body is breaking down. He gave it all he had with his last rehab stint and doesnt want to go through the same for 1-2 more mediocre seasons. If I was him i would do the same thing. Retire with a great final season with a no-hitter.
His shoulder just about had it. Another season and his elbow is sure to explode. I've been a big fan of Beckett since I saw him shitout the Yanks in game six in 03'. Being from LA and raised a Dodger fan I was very happy that the got his no hitter in dodger blue. It's a real shame he didn't disclose his retirement until after the season, he would have gotten a great goodbye from fans.
saw this game in L.A . Started early like all east coast games do around 4 . oh man how i cringe this no hitter . did not know Kersshaw no hitter was around the corner . : )
one of the most undeserved no-hitters ive ever seen, 3 awful called third strikes and 4 or 5 hard hit balls that were hit right at people... he still pitched great though

+AstroKnott He could have been Hall of Fame bound.
He was the best pitcher in the game at times, and cocky and disoriented at others. But always entertaining. Solid career.
Secong to none in his prime...a great heater, one if the sickest curveballs...this guy could do more if he didn't retire...
he will be in the hall of fame
as a sox fan I wish I could say hall of fame but idk , he does remind me of eli manning where he was a top prospect who won 2 rings and clutch in big games but he left more to be desired
This game made me cry of joy! Josh Beckett deserved that moment!!!
+Jose Flores amazing...two no hitters from two dodgers...I gotta get those pins
Yankees fan here. But yeah can't deny that. Dude worked hard and pitched harder.

Kershaw "who would've thought that his vertical jump was so high to hurt his ankle" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This one didn't even require any defensive gems.
All Love from the 2003 World Championship MVP. #MarlinsNation
A real epic pitcher from his first pitch on MLB until his last...
As a lifelong Phillies fan I took my 55 year old new wife to her first professional baseball game. She only likes football and the Washington Redskins. She witnessed this no hitter and when I explained how rare it was she seemed indifferent. Still live her though.
Greatest game of his career...except that might come 2nd to game 6 2003 World Series in the Bronx
charlie steiners lame ending haha he pitched alot of playoff games for the Redsox Marlins
I came down to look for this comment after I heard him say "the greatest game of his career".. Haha. A no hitter is definitely not greater thn pitching a complete game to win the World Series....
tOKe1uP Charlie Steiner usually does radio, not away games
Was thinking the SAME thing lol

I'm 9 months late but that was 2007 you're thinking of bro not 2006 but yeah Josh is amazing
Shit. My bad. 2007.
CC Sabathia had better numbers than Josh Beckett in 2007, more innings pitched, strikeouts, shutouts. Only thing Josh had more wins than CC, but CC was the rightful winner.
@@josecarranza7555 I'm a Sox fan and I agree.
He was more dominating in 2007
I respect all the Phillies fans who clapped for becket
I loved Beckett when he played for the redsox to bad it ended
2:03 Exactly how he got the final out in the 2003 World Series
Slow roller left side. Beckett picks it up, tags Posada, and the Florida Marlins are World Champions.”
Endeed!

perfect pitching motion.... ever seen.....no comment, no complaint...
Simply amazing.
and he retired why?...he should come back another season...thank you josh for the memories

Also love how drew called the strike before the ump did, only to turn around and glance back for confirmation.
moegerms hilarious typo in your first comment
Talking good about Beckett being called Roman Reigns...you must be an epic guy!
I miss him
Great performance, but we all know that game 6 was the best game of his career.
That's EXACTLY what I thought after he said that!
I can't believe this was 6 years ago. Such an awesome game. Go dodgers
Only watching this bc I went to this game when I was in second grade with my dad and uncle, a big part of why in a dodgers dan
first mlb game i ever went to lol
who’s here in 2024
As a Yankee fan, I still don’t understand why the Red Sox let him go.
definetly a defensive game
Becket has 1 no hitter Bumgarner has none.
Becket > Bumgarner
LAD Fan Differnece is Beckett had over 10 years to do it and he just then completed it
Is that Keith olberman on the play by play?
That strike zone was ridiculous.. still great moment.
I’m only watching this because I just got my first no-hitter on MLB the show 21 with Kershaw
i was in my kitchen .. called my bro and sis for the last innings .
That last pitch was low AF
N WORD AT 0:15?????
No.
yea I heard it too
Utly didnt swing in purpose
saw this game in L.A . Started early like all east coast games do around 4 . oh man how i cringe this no hitter . did not know Kersshaw no hitter was around the corner . : )
Why does this make you cringe?
utley garbage af
