I had to come back to this after I heard the news of Vin Scully. I didn’t get to hear him much but I remember watching this game and being so exited. Rest In Peace to the greatest commentator ever.
Man I still remember that phrase "one, miserable, measly out"
What a way with words
5:56 "There is one out to go. One miserable, measly out."
Then when he gets the no hitter, he doesn't speak for a while just to let the moment, the crowd noise, the players celebrating just speak for itself.
Rest in peace legend, you were the white grandpa I never had as an Asian boy growing up in LA watching the boys in blue every summer.
I take solace in the fact that at the very least, the man accomplished all he could, told all the stories he could tell, and has millions of people that will remember him even after he has passed.
Same
No even close
any pitcher who allows zero hits, with zero walks, zero batters hit and zero errors on the pitcher is a perfect game in my books.
I agree.
Sadly, we have to have a term for the absolute best performance a pitcher can put on, and that's 27 men up, 27 men down.
You may notice that a lot of history's perfect games have some web gem defensive plays in them helping the pitcher out. Here, what could have easily been a perfect game for Kershaw with how he was pitching got (literally) thrown away by his shortstop on a relatively routine play.
Luke Piper you can give up 9 hits and get 27 up 27 down if u allow 1 hit per inning and 1 double play per inning
tanner hendriks then you could technically get 27 up and 27 down allowing 18 hits as well. Winning the lottery 8 weeks in a row is more probable.
Especially the perfectos by Dallas Braden and Philip Humber. They suck ass but at least King Felix threw one.
It was one error and one hit
His curve was entirely unhittable that night. Holy shit.
So was everything else😂
Just that night lol?
Why don't they just bunt that shit?
So you can guess when it's about to come and lay a bunt down? GTFO
his 12 6 has movement
I cringe every time I see Hanley make that error to ruin perfection
I cringed when ever he took the field.
Ophillia Balls I think if he didn't make the error the runner might have gotten an infield hit
Alex Plays I just slowed the video down, and if Hanley made a good throw, he would of been out by a full step and a half
that play was not even close out by 2 feet.
J V ur a dumbass on a slow chopper u don't have time to plant your feet you are supposed to throw on the run
Vin sounds less enthusiastic to people who aren't used to him because he's never manufacturing it. His delivery is completely organic. This guy has watched every Dodger game for 60 years -- he's seen absolutely everything, from dozens of all-time great players. There's nothing to be surprised about. One thing that Vin has above every other broadcaster is wordplay -- the man is a poet. How many of today's young announcers could handle doing color and play-by-play alone? ESPN and Fox guys make me want to stab myself in the ears as it is.
What does color mean
@@whoisfrancooo Colour commentating or broadcasting is when you dive deeper into the plays that were made and why they made them, Play by Play is where you call out what is happening at the time and chime in a little bit with the colour. Hope this clarifies for you, have a great day
XxRogueNationxX Thank you so much
Exactly. It's the reason Joe Buck is so phenomenal.
@@WilTonay please say you are joking. Joe Buck is a nightmare. The worst commentator I have ever heard in any sport. I have to turn the sound off on games he is calling.
5:55 You know the moment is a big deal when Puig catches a fly ball with two hands above the waist.
Adam Taylor 😂
Adam Taylor why
Omega Bananas because you do NOT want to be the guy who errors on a no hitter.
Omega Bananas he usually uses one hand
@@Mostlyharmless1985 they had already errored at that point
Crazy to think that everyone playing on that field doesn't play for the dodgers anymore except Kershaw.
Bro I loved this dodgers team with Hanley Gonzales puig turner Ellis Kemp and the dominat Jansen
Right Jansen was on this team ya?
@@davidgutierrez4606 yeah I agree. Adrian Gonzales was my favorite dodger for such a long time
turner was on the team but wasn't playing
Mr. Milko exactly that’s why I said “on that field” instead of “on that team”
Scully makes every game seem better
No not every game
Times Change bud
I’m ur 200th like
@@gabphin136 bruh
Indeed. Period.
Kershaw may be the most blessed pitcher to have ever lived, to not only pitch a no-hitter, but to have that no-hitter called by Vin Scully. It don't get a whole lot better than that.
your leaving out SK
Here watching after Vin Scullys passing. What a legend. 😢😭
This never gets old, that play by miguel rojas at third was unbelievable and gonzalez picking it, wow.
Gonzales was all class on first . One of my favorite baseball players.
@@hectordelacruz5189 ya, wish we would of got him earlier in his career the dodgers tried since he was with the padres to get him. I believe he's gonna be playing for mexico this year I believe.
I think it's safe to say that Kershaw is one of the best (if not THE best) pitchers in the league right now.
He is the best and its not even close.
***** Yeah, I may not be a Dodgers fan (Yankee fan btw), but I know great pitching when I see it, and he totally deserved that cy young award last season.
***** will ferell is better LOL
***** Justin Verlander is same level as skill
Chris B nah. Verlander isn't same level. Close, but definetly not. Closest pitcher is felix hernandez, but not as good as kershaw
Scully is the best ever. No argument there.
People hate on him but he has been there since the Dodgers where the freaking BROOKLYN Dodgers. He has been there forever
No, he actually really boring, I don't care if he has been there forever, he's not a good announcer.
No, he is actually really boring, I don't care if he has been there forever, he's not a good announcer.
He is*
Robbie Goss Really? Have you ever listened to him announce an entire game?
I'm back here after we just got Rojas. Never forget his incredible play to preserve the no hitter.
Who's here after they won the world series
Me
Yeeeee!
Yes! Kershaw is my favorite pitcher of this era and I wanted to re-live some of his past accomplishments.
We all are tho
miss ryu
“It’s Time For Dodger Baseball!” Hits different😔
I came back here after learning the horrible news. Rest In Peace Vin Scully! Thank you for your wonderful voice-overs!
The last of 20 no-hitters and 3 perfect games called by Vin. A record that will probably never be matched. We'll miss you, Vin.
REST IN BLUE HEAVEN ON EARTH VIN SCULLY!!!! I REMEMBER THIS GAME
Kersh is going to be in the HOF
dat curve. i call hax
I know M8, 100% Faze Material
His 12-6 curve, what he throws is nasty
Right
kseries1981 LOL
Hahaha
The most unsurprising no hitter in history. For Clayton Kershaw, it wasn't a matter of it, but when.
And considering he's just 26, there's actually a pretty decent chance he'll throw another one at some point.
hitdoctor24 And probably a perfect game for him
Eric Chang it would have been a perfect game but an error was made
Brian has a point. I personally thought it was going to be a perfect game.
@@ericeric081693 Well, 8 years later and he has been removed from 2 perfect games after 7 innings. Thanks Dave.
This guy is now a champion. Well deserved!!
Who is cutting onions around here? Extra special now thhat he has a ring #GOAT
i come back to this video everyday but today felt really different now that vin scully passed. Rest In Peace to the best mlb broadcaster there has ever been and ever will be
Came here to say....Kershaw is now a Champion!!!! Go Dodgers 2020!!!!!!!! One bright spot during this Covid Madness
World Series Champion, Clayton Kershaw.
Went to the game the night before. I’m not over it.
if it werent for the error he would have had a perfect game
+Ryan Daniel Tolentino That was the only base runner, how did it not mess it up?
+Ryan Daniel Tolentino The definition of a perfect game is when a teams batting lineup is retired in order with NO ONE reaching base. So since the error caused the batter to stay on 1st base. It's not a perfect game.
+David C. An error in foul territory doesn't count in ruining a perfect game.
+AdidasBoi How was it an error in foul territory? Ramirez threw the ball away. While throwing to first.
+AdidasBoi What are you watching lmao
From a Royals fan... This is fantastic. I would kill to see a game like this, even if it was against KC. It's remarkable.
Hunter Johnson I was at this game when Hanley made the error I yelled FUCK and I was 11 at the time... my mom just said don't say that again
Believe me, you don't want to see a no hitter against your team. I saw a game we're the dodgers got no hit. Me and my dad drove 7 hours to Los Angeles just to see them get no hit.
If this happened against my team I would be cheering lmao
this is one of million reasons kershaw deserved that ring!
2:05 Bobby Crosby!
Whet?
DodgerFilms
+juanloko2 i know i was like that looks like bobby with a camera and deep left next to him..awesome. sucks he cant upload anymore baseball games
Yep
I saw him to, love his videos
who’s here after he finally got his ring
Should have been a Perfect Game but Hanley Ramirez fucked it up
Yeah that sucks. He's a decent hitter but a terrible fielder. That definitely wasn't his only major error. Remember when playing vs the Phillies. Walk off error because of Hanley
This is one of my favorite memories as a Dodger fan of over 25 years.
2020 WS champ 🐐
It looks like he's pitching to tee ball players cuz of how stupid he makes them look
And then when you look at the names, Tulo to name one you're just amazed lol
GTRandy He's about the only one... Maybe Dickerson or LeMaiheu but at that time it's kinda pushing it
Even here, he's 86 and he's amazing.
Every time I watch this video, it gets too me. I feel like I'm literally reliving the moment at the game. Like idk I get so emotional. Haha I love the Dodger's they are the reason I have so much passion for baseball! 💙
always a blessing to see him pitch and to hear Vin Scully. LIVE.BREATHE.BLUE
We all know who got some that night
Not the Rockies hitters? XD
JDeppFan2272 hahaha
And we all know who didn’t...and his name starts with Ramirez.
Your mom
Bilbfly Goddam SAVAGE!🤣
Congrats Mr. World Series Champion !
The greatest pitcher of his generation. No questions asked. HOF ready.
Maybe top 5 of his generation. Top 10 for me.
In his prime he was untouchable. Love Kershaw.
That play by Miguel Rojas was the biggest gem of the night. If not for that there wouldn’t have been a no hitter, I don’t think Justin Turner makes that play.
Yeah no chance JT makes it now but maybe a younger JT could
It's been six years and I have watched this over one thousand times and it still gives me chills
Grats champ
Beautiful. I remember watching this live.
Pov: ur hear after the dodgers won the 2020 World Series
Here not hear
No cap bruh
@@jmayes2433 this isnt a spelling bee

I am in NO way a Dodger fan but this guy is absolutely amazing. Brilliant pitch selection, incredible command.
One of my favorite dodger memories. I warm June evening, sitting on the front porch with my dad listening to Vin make the calls on the radio.
Cards fan here, but I REALLY like Kershaw. He's dominating ALL MLB pitchers and he's still young at 27. Future Hall of Famer, first ballot I bet, too, if he keeps it up. He's got a great character, as well. Go Kershaw!
I'm a Oakland A's fan and I love watching this Kershaw pitched a gem that night 👏👏👏
Dang kersh is good
Anything with Vin Scully in it is amazing
CLAYTON KERSHAW IS A WORLD SERIES CHAMPION
And he finally got his ring!
I miss Vin Scully he was my favorite broadcaster
I miss him in two ways specifically
not even a Dodger fan and I dont even think twice about my answer when asked about the greatest to ever do play by play
Is anyone else coming to relive Kershaw's greatness while he tries to win a world series 6 years later
Me. Kenley blew the game today. I need this Kershaw tomorrow 🔥🔥🔥
Ladies and Gentlemen appreciate the greatness of Kershaw. He is one of those rare ones and has no doubt been the best pitcher of this era that we are in.
Revlo1 False
@@aseidleck9420 #1 ever in era, #1 ever in WHIP, #1 in winning %…
Now he's got a ring
Who else is being recommended this after Vin passed?
I'm from Chicago and I was in LA for the week so we decided to go see the Dodgers play and we ended up at this game.... truly unreal experience to watch such a performance. Should have been a perfect game though
my son was born this night
That might be a good sign.
The next Clayton Kershaw?? Please have him come to the Orioles!
+Jack Corcoran ? Kershaw and going anywhere he might go to Texas when he is 32 but that's it
Why would he go to Texas?
He's from the Dallas area.
Why Hanley, why did you have to fuck up Clayton's no-no ???
(I'm a Mets fan btw, but Kershaw's so freaking awesome )
He didnt screw up his no-no, he screwed up his perfect game
I'm not a Dodger fan....but as a kid I had to watch the Dodgers because of the beauty and elegance of vin Scully.....wow
Can we stop referring no-hitters as "no-no's". It sounds fucking ridiculous.
He got a no no
Aaron Smith To answer your request. No. No.
I already have cancer. Stage II. Getting treatment.
I'm going to hell.
Aaron Smith that mean man would like somebody say that to you
I used to go to cardinals @ Dodger games almost every year back then. Never really a dodgers fan but this is my favorite team. Seeing these group of guys man. And also hearing the sounds from the stadium. I love it
My favorite matchup, being from LA but born into a cardinal family
How can anyone give this video a down vote? It's an amazing achievement.
scully is one of my favorite announcers
Hanley’s error costed him a perfect game
Rest in peace Scully
3:24 I'm glad Dave Roberts wasn't coaching the dodgers he would've pulled him after the 6 innings his pitch count was to high at 70ish lol
I miss Vin Scully.
HERE AFTER KERSHAW WON THE WORLD SERIES
I miss Kershaw throwing to Ellis. Great battery duo
just noticed it could of been a perfect game if not for that damn error....
+Ryan Daniel Tolentino But a perfect game would have been better. And it would have happened if it weren't for that meddling Ramirez guy.
This is certainly the greatest game ever pitched. No other pitcher in MLB history has ever allowed no hits no walks no hit batters and struck out 15. The closest any other pitcher has gotten to this performance is Felix Hernandez who allowed no hits no walks no hit batters and struck out 12. The fact this performance doesn’t get the recognition it deserves is disgusting. Because an infielder made an error? If anything that makes the PITCHERS performance even more impressive because he had to record 28 outs compared to only 27.
Who’s here after he got his ring
Rest In Peace vin scully
if dave roberts was manager, he would've sat kersh
He would have taken them to the ws a few times
Dave Roberts know when and when not to sit players kersh did nothing wrong in this game so he wouldn’t have not sat him most likely. Plus he would’ve wanted kersh to get a no hitter
LOL we won finally tho. Seemed like Roberts learned his lesson, at least a bit
@@artemthetrain14 still, he did terrible managing from what I've seen. But, I have nothing to say as my favorite team has one of the worst managers in baseball. The Cincinnati Reds' David Bell
107 pitches? Dominant throughout? Track record of going deep?
You trippin'
Doc would NOT have taken him out.
And now this man has World Series Ring to add to his resumé
2:05 dodger films makes an appearance.
DEEP LEFT!
Evan Shei I
Rest In Peace to a legend
If i were him, I would probably collapse in the sixth inning knowing that i haven't allowed a hit yet, I would be scared af. Mound is the scariest place in all of sport after all.
Thats what makes the great athletes great, the fact that they can remain mentally tough while performing well physically
aerocite Yeah i think that's what differs athletes that becomes professionals. Their mental strength.
Brilliant idea for a video and thank you for respecting Scully's genius and not using music as filler.
Love how Puig actually used 2 hands to catch the 2nd out in the 9th, he never does that
Wouldn’t’ve happened without Gonzo & Rojas. Let’s give them their props! 👏👏👏👏
2:05 DODGERFILMS I SEE HIM IM THE SEATS FIRST ROW WITH DEEP LEFT
I was going to say that.
yeah!
#savedodgerfilms
+Tim Laird (dr23tim) that's not Benny
Back in the day, the Dodgers were "simulcast" on both radio and T.V. It's one of the reasons Vin Scully's calls are so detailed you don't really need a screen. His words tell the whole story. Nobody does it better!
I saw dodger films and deep left at 2:05
Nice bred 11 profile pic I want them and concord and space jams
Good eye! Lol I never noticed that
+Bobby Johnson me neither
Me two
Omg I did😂😂
I remember watching this entire game with my family on the couch and getting chills in the 9th. Still get chills.
Give a like if Kershaw is better than bumgarner
Man i hope we win tomorrow 🙏🏽
should have been a perfect game
7 years ago today 🐐
I love how people in the comment section are so stupid. "There was a runner on, its not a no hitter." Have some common sense people, if that was ruled a hit i dont think this video would be up right now.
Precisely
+J they call it reached on error and if it's he is 1-1 I'm sure they keep it 1-1 due to the fact it's not a hit
If he made it before a throw then it's a hit
Thank lazy asd Hanley for blowing that perfect game.
You have to understand, knowing the difference between a hit and an error is _very_ difficult for some people.
I mean, since they're basically the same thing, you have to have a mountain of experience in the field and a discerning eye like none other.
/sarcasm
+matrixphijr Didn't read the whole thing 😂
He was my favorite player for a long time and it's heartbreaking to see Kershaw not being able to pitch like he used to. These days are far behind him unfortunately. No World Series title this year again. 😢
Most likely this year because of how the dodgers look
You must be very happy rn
Kershaw is good again this year so far
I would of been pissed at Hanley
I saw this live I almost wanted to kill hanley
Was that the only one who got on base??
+Brandon Cantu yes it was
+Brandon Cantu Hanley was the guy who threw a wild pitch to first which disqualified the game from being a perfect game.
Joeballs well that makes sense
