I'm not only sorry, but also surprised. I'm 23, I've got many friends, and almost none of them listens to Skolim despite many of them listening to Disco Polo.
@@PaffiQ TBH it is usually when countries try popular music for the first time. Old Japanese pop-music also was horrible. But now they make bangers. Polish Rock was always much better then the rest.
No Chylinska, no Nosowska. Disgrace. Whatever happened after 2010 clearly shows how easy is to satisfy young generations. No real instruments, simple vocals, ridiculous lyrics. Thats very sad :(
The song from Pocahontas was voted the most beautiful language version of this song in the world. Definitely need to check this out. Soundtrack of lion King is also one of the most memorable soundtracks of all Disney cartoons.
after Pocahontas and Frozen I would also recommend to check out polish versions of Mulan "I'll make a man out of you" and Hercules "I won't say I'm in love"
Polish dubbing is so good, just amazing. Mulan, Aladdin Lion King, Frozen, Tresure Planet, The road to El dorado, Pocahontas, Shrek, basicly every disney/pixar movie have amazing polish dubbing including songs. Also polish version of Asterix and Obelix Mission Cleopatra is freakin masterpice of dubbing ;)
Disco polo in fact is not included in hit lists or music chart with other kinds of music. It's much specific, many hate it. So disco polo has its own, separate "hit lists".

I left Poland in 2012 and I am completely devastated in hearing where Polish music is heading. From great rock and pop songs changing into embarrassing disco-polo style 🤦♀️. Maybe I’m just old but I really do not like last 10 years of this collection
I feel like most world is heading similar. Maybe UK with bands like Sleep Token or Bring Me the Horizon is better. But other world is mostly autotuned generic pop/rap. There are some excuses in Poland like Zalewski but most good stuff is from bands that play since 2000's/early 2010's or underground bands.
Most important Polish songs you can find on the lists called Polski Top Wszechczasów Trójki (Polish all-time hits lists) emited by Radio Channel 3 and later Radio 357, as said by another person.
This list of songs is a very distorted image of Polish pop and rock music: 1. This is a list based on the number of views of songs on RUclips - common access to the Internet and RUclips began in Poland in the mid-2000s - songs from before 2005 are songs watched on the basis of nostalgia - 10, 20, 30 years after they were really popular - most of them were known and listened to by all of Poland. 2. After 2005, it was more about current viewing of songs, often RUclips was the main place where fans repeatedly played their favorite songs - because of this, half of the songs after 2005 were not the most popular songs in Poland (I don't know half of these songs), but the most popular among the recipients of Polish RUclips 3. There have always been parallel trends and genres in music, in Poland too. Different people listened to different music - until 1980 Polish rock music had very limited access to the Radio (4 channels) and Television (only two channels), releasing records was also very limited - the song Budka Suflera in list above, is a version recorded after 20 years - in 1975 it did not have a television recording - because rock bands were not invited to television and there are practically no video recordings of rock music from that period apart from a few exceptions (SBB).

Speaking of "Hey" I'm actually surprised that "Moja i twoja nadzieja" isn't the 1997's top. It was sold as a charity single, the proceeds of which were donated to the victims of the catastrophic flood of 1997, so obviously the song was aired literally everywhere and easily topped charts.
I am not sure if there is good enough (legal) recording on youtube to attract listeners :/ [there is music video, but uploaded by someone not connected to band and not having any rights]
I recommend you take each of those songs and try to listen to them in full as the fragments presented in that video are way too short to appreciate most of those songs, especially those less disco type, which require a certain emotional engagement.
I'm from Poland but didn't expect that Ruchome piaski from 1997 is so popular. It's a masterpiece and even better live. For me the best polish pop band ever.
I think it was popular in certain groups. I've heard it in Magda M and loved it. I do miss that when you can watch a good movie or serial and listen to good polish music now it's just cheap American music. We have so many great artist why oh why do we have to listen to those pop things.
Pocahontas cover by Edyta Górniak (maybe not a cover, just a polish version) always makes me cry. I remember being in the cinema with my school class on that movie, sweet, sweet times I miss so much...

My favorite Polish band is Maanam with my favorite female vocalist Kora. Look for their more moody, mysterious works like albums "Nocny Patrol" or "Się Ściemnia". or songs "Lucciola", "Owady podniosły skrzydła do lotu". Lyrics are very deep, mysterious, often touching esoteric, on feminine side. They've been very innovative in 70s and 80s on Polish scene with nice bass solos. Good music ended in 90s IMHO. From that period I like bands "Varius Manx" and "Goja".
I don't know who put this collection together, but since the 2000s the songs presented have nothing to do with music, and even less with real music. We have many other artists who understand their work, look at Obywatel GC, Dawid Podsiadlo, Artur Rojek, Perfekt, I am not mentioning all of them because you already know some of these Polish greats.
They are based on the number of plays on RUclips and (I think) Spotify, not author's personal opinion. This makes the list have diverse genres of music as well, though it's biased towards people who prefer to listen to their favorite music on the Internet.
@@Vengir yes it can be. I just don't agree that it has to be our ‘best’ music. I am aware that there are a lot of people who listen to the style of disko-polo and the like, but this is nothing that distinguishes us, which distinguishes our most important and best Polish singers and above all the content, which supposedly has always been profound and important for each of us (leaving aside, to some extent, generation Z)
"2000's" had kancelaria, Wiki, Happysad, Rubik, Kombi, Brodka and just one disco polo song. I think you mean 2010's when (Apart from Sylwia and Sanah) it's just dp and trap.
Honestly, I'm Polish in her 40s, some songs I wouldn't call "popular", one or two I've heard here for the first time... The most popular on YT doesn't really mean "popular" in real life. Thank you for reminding me some of the older singers though, I miss their voices. Try Zdzisława Sośnicka - "Powiedz mi, panie".
Me and my diehard metalheads, when we were young, you know, chains, leather jackets, long chair, fearless and etc., would love to sing our hearts out (very loudly) that Pokahontaz song in bars, after concerts and in public transportation, lol. Those were some of the best times of my life. It's so good.
@@edlawn5481 You can give a try to Kaśka Sochacka :) also: Zelewski done some good music in last few years (his newest music is not that good though - in my opinion)
I do strongly recommend to read about polish punk-rock festiwal which happend between 70s-90s. in town Jarocin (Jarocin Festiwal or Rytmy młodych). It was only place in Poland during communist occupation where people can hear new wave of music. A lot of most popular bands from the 70s-90s gained popularity there. History of this festival is really interesting.
Polish version of Pocahontas song is absolutely stunning - it was sang by a girl who took 2nd place in an Eurovision contest once , which is still the best place Poland took so far. She is now a little crazy, nevertheless, the Pocahontas song is really great - im singing it often on karaoke nights even though im a guy xd
The 2005 is really interesting, as Kombi was really big in the 80s and then not really and this was like their come back or something and they scored big with an original song and not some rehash.
First there was Kombi with a single i in the 80s then they split up and Kombi's vocalist made his own band called Skawalker in the 90s. After that they came back as Kombii with two Is in the 2000s.
Sanah (seen here in 2020) have not only popular pop songs, but also made really great album "Sanah śpiewa poezyje" where she sings poems. I also like her album "Uczta" where she made duet with other Polish singers and most of the songs have that poetic vibe
I'll be honest, I don't always like what she puts out...I like her style but some songs just feel simplistic to me. (i do love Irena and Uczta a lot, though). But I **adore** her interpretation of some of those poems! Her version of "Hymn" is just heart wrenching.
7:04 that facial expression said everything 😂. Watching this compilation as a Polish person, I found that 1, I know all these songs almost off by heart, 2 it's a hilarious compilation this
Yeah, actually this whole „skolim” has a big drama that he’s buying views and that’s why it’s most popular song :v and this type of music is called diskopolo. Don’t search it 🗣️🥶
it's based on yt views so old songs that are on list are some of the most memorable songs from the past. After the popularization of youtube, on the list you can find songs that have gained temporary popularity and reflect less well what kind of music Poles like.
Next video I recommend that you watch the "Ewolucja tańca (Evolution of Dance)" sketch presented by Ireneusz Krosny, the polish mime. You'll like it, I promise!❤
This is deinetly not representing list, specially in last years. The big miss is Podsiadło, which concerts fill stadiums. In '90 very important misses are Hey, Edyta Bartosiewicz, in '80 - Republika (!), Kult (!), Oddział Zamknięty or Lombard - there was gold era of polish rock. But Pefect, Lady Pank, Maanam, Varius Manx or Wilki was great bands too at those decades.
100% - I never heard most of the songs from 2000 on, and imo they are not representative of Polish taste. There's still good music - I refer you to Radio 357 - The best Polish music of all time (Polski Top Wszechczasów), or even their weekly music lists.
We do not have some Disney songs in polish version but full dubbing with full soundtrack. So actually nobody in Poland knows English version of those songs. Also our translators are so good that many times they give into the context polish jokes which are more connected with our reality and type of humor than American.
I wouldn't say nobody knows the original Disney songs, they are just less known and less popular, but at least from the last decade if not longer people do know English versions. And one could even listen to Spanish version of "Let it go", as the native language / 1st language of the songs' creators is Spanish (not sure if the Spanish version isn't actually the original one then) and it was fairly popular, too. With current access to the internet I do believe other Poles are also rewatching videos like "song xy in 20 languages", though I think that's pretty niche thing to watch. While I mostly agree with what you wrote, I think the statement "nobody in Poland knows English versions of these songs" is false, unless you mean Disney songs from before the internet became accessible for many in Poland specifically. But the newer ones, no, sure thing no, people do listen to the English ones, too. As more people use English in their everyday life generally, like you and me today. About the translators, it's more about regular movies / animations, not musicals, and well, Bartosz Wierzbięta who translated Shrek for dubbing did put many puns at situation, politic in Poland back then or Polish culture and apparently it became bigger hit in Poland than expected because of that, he's a legend, but with the time puns at what was current back then sometimes can get sour or feel really old / make the movie feel old instead of timeless, so such strategy can backfire, too.
@@vanillablossom I have seen Frozen in English (mostly because I wanted to hear Idina) and can't tune in when I hear Polish versions of this songs... Polish lyric seems weird to me and out of place so much that even I know it (songs were everywhere, so hard not to) I can't sing along o.O while I don't have that problem with English versions ;)
@@vanillablossom Exactly. I wasn't even born when Lion King or Pocahontas came out (I was born in 1997) but I know the english versions of the songs really well. Actually I think that most of the songs I FIRST heard in the original and then heard them in polish.

My background is Polish, I was born in Canada. One Polish album from the early 70's that I really enjoyed that my cousin gave me was Nowy Wspanialy Swiat (new wonderful world) by Dwa Plus Jeden. Kiedy rzeką plynie kra, chodź pomaluj mój świat and po jedwabnej stronie (Elzbieta's voice really shows in that song) are my favourites from that album.
This whole list is just a confirmation that music in Poland and the world, if it hasn't ended already, is heading in a very bad direction (at least the popular one). Older music is excellent, currently it's a nightmare to put it mildly, and on top of that there's disco-polo that makes me feel sick. If you're asking about Polish versions of Disney songs, it's true that although it's currently very strange and downright mentally ill, it must be admitted that Edyta Górniak sang the song to "Pocahontas" better than the original version.
Varius Manx with Anita Lipnicka, Kasia Kowalska, Perfect, Edyta Geppert, Dżem with Ryszard Riedel, Katarzyna Groniec, Grzegorz Turnau, Artur Rojek (Myslovitz), Sokół, Eldo, Pezet, Marek Grechuta, Katarzyna Nosowska (Hey), Kazik Staszewski (Kult), Czesław Niemen, Maciej Maleńczuk :)
Among the songs, bands and singers here, in the 1970s very well known and good were e.g. Anna Jantar, Zbigniew Wodecki, Budka Suflera (with Krzysztof Cugowski); in the 1980s - e.g. Seweryn Krajewski and "Czerwone Gitary" (Red Guitars), Perfect (with Grzegorz Markowski), Dżem (with Ryszard Riedel), Mannam (with Kora); in the 1990s - e.g. Various Manx, Lady Pank, Elektryczne Gitary, Róże Europy, Myslovitz, Edyta Geppert, Edyta Górniak (others also); in the 2000s - Kombi or Sanah (and some others). But many mentioned here, since 1998 are just some crap, especially disco polo.
When it comes to rock/metal Polish music you should listen to TSA. A great Polish rock band with a great vocalist Piekarczyk. Also one of our greatist vocalists was Niemen but you should know the lyrics especially when it comes to songs such as Dziwny jest ten świat.
keep in mind recently tons of kids invade yt so the latest songs are biased by this trend (while old songs are [re]watched mostly by mature audience that become nostalgic)
Well, this is just embarrassing, and depressing. Popular culture in Poland over the last decade or so has been grim, but sadly, it's a pretty accurate representation of the average person's "taste". Junk music, books, films, everything.
Every song brings a different emotions and memories, I find this very beautiful and I appreciate those songs. Pure art and poetry in a form of a song. I know them all even if im much younger. I wont be talking about 2022-now xd

Both the list in the video and Polski Top Wszech Czasów are biased. The former towards people listening to the music on the Internet, the latter towards people who listen to the radio. They both reflect how popular each song is among a given group of people. Just because you prefer one list, doesn't make the other wrong.

As a Pole I can say that some of that songs are amazing when listened complete. Much of fragments was the worst peaces of them (it doesn't mean that these peaces are bad)

2010' and 20' are shadowed by Disco Polo very much. We still have rock bands and great female voices.
The biggest Disco Polo explosion was in the 90s because of dance music influence.

It's not because you're old. The 90-ties were in fact the golden age of Polish music, because rock was the most popular style back then.
I feel like most world is heading similar. Maybe UK with bands like Sleep Token or Bring Me the Horizon is better. But other world is mostly autotuned generic pop/rap. There are some excuses in Poland like Zalewski but most good stuff is from bands that play since 2000's/early 2010's or underground bands.

good youre not talking about their overall top 100 bc that one stopped being exciting after like 5th edition lol
Yes, exactly. This is the ony one corret source of information about Polish music. FUCK redneck's disco polo.
This list of songs is a very distorted image of Polish pop and rock music:
2. After 2005, it was more about current viewing of songs, often RUclips was the main place where fans repeatedly played their favorite songs - because of this, half of the songs after 2005 were not the most popular songs in Poland (I don't know half of these songs), but the most popular among the recipients of Polish RUclips
This should be pinned. If you're any older than gen Z, radio charts would be much more relatable than yt views.

A gdzie Dżem- tyle kultowych utworów ?
❤
Napracowałaś się, dzięki za tą listę. Zacna❤Do 2005 lubię niemal wszystko, potem już wyjątki… Pozdrawiam.
I'd say it was a regression instead of progression...but isn't it the case around the world? 😟😣 I still hope for the better though ;)
Yep, but especially from the Accantus studio, cos they are often better than the original Polish versions.
Because they don't care what they record as long as it will sell. I actually do like sanah especially since she recorded "sanah spiewa poezje"
Sanah, Kasia Sochacka, Kortez❤, a nie Skolim... 😢...
Dużo dużo tu brakuje, mieliśmy super muzykę.
Polish versions of Disney main themes are better then those made in US :D except Lion King :)
Dziewczyna Szamana - Justyna Steczkowska❤❤❤
That's a good album. really like "Oko Za Oko"
When you discover the words of the 70's 80's and 90's songs these words take a new meaning (sorry i don't speak english well cause im Polish :) )
Based on how many views each songs have on RUclips.
Try Zdzisława Sośnicka - "Powiedz mi, panie".
greetings from Poland :) !
My favorite is Wilki - "Baśka" from this set
You can clearly see trends here:
2011-2017 - Disco-polo and Sylwia Grzeszczak
2018 onwards - hip-hopolo imported from USA.
Only new Polish act I like is Kwiat Jabłoni.
There is a movie about it. Jarocin - po co wolność. Not sure if there is english version tho
And then...they split into Kombi and Kombii 😅
First there was Kombi with a single i in the 80s then they split up and Kombi's vocalist made his own band called Skawalker in the 90s. After that they came back as Kombii with two Is in the 2000s.
1994 Anita from Various Manx. Loved her voice and songs sooooo much 🥰 🥰🥰(I was 14 y.o.)
Ja też.😊
Dużo z tych piosenek to Polskie perełki. Pozdrawiam z Polski. :-)
Jestem pełna podziwu dla popularności Twoich filmików( wśród Polaków). Lubimy jak nas chwalą🇵🇱😊
Old Polish song are the best 😍
4:25 u have this song(and orthers) published in english. look myslovitz - sound of solitude(in pl dlugosc dzwieku samotnosci)
Don’t search it 🗣️🥶
I know 39 songs from these.
And love all of them.
Thank You for this retrospection. It is like time machine! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
it's based on yt views so old songs that are on list are some of the most memorable songs from the past. After the popularization of youtube, on the list you can find songs that have gained temporary popularity and reflect less well what kind of music Poles like.
You captured so many good songs and particularly our culture. Amazing video
MAREK GRECHUTA, NIEMEN, MARYLA RODOWICZ, EWA DEMARCZYK....PLEASE...
Demarczyk to chyba lata 60 bardziej
In 1984 the best song was Aya RL Skora. It stayed for two years on the list by Trojka.
And his leader has an interesting biography.
Next video I recommend that you watch the "Ewolucja tańca (Evolution of Dance)" sketch presented by Ireneusz Krosny, the polish mime. You'll like it, I promise!❤
Who chose those songs? I'm not sure, they were the most popular songs of each year.
I really love polish version of music from Tangled when they both sitting in boat
you are so on spot here with those '80 -'90 were best for Polish Rock! I miss so many of those today
It seems that our parents had better taste in music 😅
I think you should check out Męskie Granie Orkiestra, we're getting MGO anthem every year and it's amazing piece of music history in Poland!
Dude, i just watched this video and I love it. Greetings from Edinburgh. 😜
wstyd ze skolim byl 2 razy xd

Po 2012 to w zasadzie sam wstyd xDD
great knowledge and sense of music, You're really good giving opinions
Some real bangers in here
I am so proud of the diversity of Polish songs!
Depends what kind of music you prefer. Eg. the most popular song in 1991 was "Mydelko Fa", not Edyta Geppert.
1. Witcher.
2. Witcher.
3. WITCHER DAMIT!!!
It is both a rock band and a singer with a powerful voice. Listen: O.N.A. - Wszystko to co ja

Niemen is a lagend.
I'm from Poland 😅
I'm from Poland and 95% of this list since 2000 is completely disgusting.
The last decade is portrayed......in a funny way I guess.... There's no way these songs were top of the pops....
This whole list is just a confirmation that music in Poland and the world, if it hasn't ended already, is heading in a very bad direction (at least the popular one). Older music is excellent, currently it's a nightmare to put it mildly, and on top of that there's disco-polo that makes me feel sick. If you're asking about Polish versions of Disney songs, it's true that although it's currently very strange and downright mentally ill, it must be admitted that Edyta Górniak sang the song to "Pocahontas" better than the original version.
all this list is bad data collection. If we had ability to get equivalent of YT "views" from older years we would have completely different lists
Varius Manx with Anita Lipnicka, Kasia Kowalska, Perfect, Edyta Geppert, Dżem with Ryszard Riedel, Katarzyna Groniec, Grzegorz Turnau, Artur Rojek (Myslovitz), Sokół, Eldo, Pezet, Marek Grechuta, Katarzyna Nosowska (Hey), Kazik Staszewski (Kult), Czesław Niemen, Maciej Maleńczuk :)
Kasia Kowalska is fantastic: Jak Rzecz, Staciłam Swój Rozsądek, Wyrzuć Ten Gniew are my favorites.
We have the best Disney covers made by Studio Acantus!
Totally agree! Much better than the original versions.
The first one... "Tyle słońca w całym mieście" took my deepest memories...
Polska przeprasza za rok 2022-2023
Dzem was a great band.
Thanks, that was delightful 🎉
Well, this is just embarrassing, and depressing. Popular culture in Poland over the last decade or so has been grim, but sadly, it's a pretty accurate representation of the average person's "taste". Junk music, books, films, everything.
Piosenki z lat 70-tychbto było to! Teksty, melodie i te glosy śpiewających 👍
The genre you called Euro dance we call disco polo.
not really. modern disco polo may be closer to eurodance but classic disco polo went kinda the same route as italo disco.
Firsht time on your channel, I am Polish but can hear a Laddy from Glasgow area? Cheerio! Scotland the brave! Ta!
it's not progression rather regression
Every song brings a different emotions and memories, I find this very beautiful and I appreciate those songs. Pure art and poetry in a form of a song. I know them all even if im much younger.
I wont be talking about 2022-now xd
to jest lista popularnych a nie najlepszych piosenek this is a list of popular songs, not the best ones
może będzie odcinek z maybe there will be an episode with
Polski Top Wszech Czasów Polish Top of All Time
pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polski_Top_Wszech_Czas%C3%B3w
every year, the 100 best hits of all time were selected by the Third Program of Polish Radio, and from May 3, 2021 on Radio 357
Both the list in the video and Polski Top Wszech Czasów are biased. The former towards people listening to the music on the Internet, the latter towards people who listen to the radio. They both reflect how popular each song is among a given group of people. Just because you prefer one list, doesn't make the other wrong.

And is there a difference between the best car of the year and the best-selling car of the year?
@@Z_Kanapy If you're referring to the car of the year award, you have a similar issue: a bunch of car reviewers choose a car they think is the best based on some criteria they think are important. In real life, people may have some different opinions. Which thing is the best almost always depends on who you ask and the criteria.
Disco Polo Buhahaha. This playlist is a joke.
As a Pole I can say that some of that songs are amazing when listened complete. Much of fragments was the worst peaces of them (it doesn't mean that these peaces are bad)
Skolim and most of the other upbeat songs on this list are from disco polo genre, it's basically Polish version of eurodance and in Poland you either love it or hate it
Disco polo is NOT polish euro dance. We had polish Euro dance (Stachursky, I&I, United, Kasia Lesing...). Early disco polo is based on italo disco style.
Kocham powspominać te piosenki ❤❤❤
It's not euro-pop, it is disco polo - one of the most primitive kind of music 🙄
I'd suggest listening to all these songs in full. Worth it most of them
