ResMed AirFit N30i with a top-of-the-head tube design gives your patients the freedom to sleep in many positions and be close to their bed partner.
The carefully engineered SpringFit frame, septum bridge and top-of-the-head design with 360o rotation keep pace with twists and turns. The quick release elbow helps your patient remove their therapy easily, even if they get up during the night.
    Designed for a first-time fit
The SpringFit frame is designed to adjust to different facial profiles to provide a broad range of fit. This means you spend less time on patient setup with more fitting confidence.
For male patients, start with the standard frame size. For female patients, start with the small frame size.
If the frame is too large, try the small size frame for a better fit.
If you try the small frame first and the frame sits too close to your patient's eyes, size up to the standard frame for a better fit.
If the frame is too small, try the standard size frame for a more comfortable fit.
Use the provided template to determine whether a patient has a narrow or wide nose.
If the patient has a narrow nose, place the blue/red side of the template under their nose. If the patient has a wide nose, place the grey/purple side of the template under their nose.
If either the width or length of their nose breaches the margins on the template, size up (to medium or wide).
Select the matching cushion from those provided.

Me too. I have tried a similar style from Philips too. However the resmed one pulls the tip of my nose up. I have a round face, shortish broad nose and both frames do it. The company i have been hiring it from don't really care so long as they get their money. I would really like to know are there any other manufacturers of similar that you would recommend? Thanks for the educational advice, particularly the foamgate issue. I read it in newspaper and supplier of hire machine didn't know, and just told me that they didn't use ozone cleaners. They said that they only knew what their rep told them. Seriously WTF!!!🤐 Anyway very helpful thanks so much🐨 Nik Cheerypip

After ages of giving up on Cpap therapy after watching your videos I realized all of the options I had to still attempt and as of last week im a happy Cpap user and I couldn’t be more grateful. THANK YOU 🙏

Best mask ever! The bigger the mask, the worse of a time I had adjusting to it. I couldn't stand nasal pillow masks either. i'm a side/back sleeper and I move a LOT. No leaks. I love the vent on the front, it makes the mask feel less claustrophobic when breathing out. Could not recommend this more. This video is a nice coverage of the features.

I have been using the N3Oi mask for years and love it. My only issue is that after awhile your hair on top of your head is under the weight of the top strap attached to hose tends to flatten your hair line. I have a full head of hair and my hairdresser chuckles as it looks like a permanent separation in my hair line…..

I've been doing therapy for about 3 weeks. I have this mask and I suppose if you have to have one, it's the best you're going to get. It does have drawbacks. A man shouldn't review the headgear...or even make the head gear...most of y'all don't have hair. Manufacturers have to figure out that women are now using this equipment. Short hair or long, we strive to make our hair silky, and guess what that headgear does with silky hair? It moves! I spoke with the clinician about it, and he suggested I put the pony tail, tiny as it is, in between the slit on the head gear. That kinda works but then I have a lump in the back of my head to sleep on if I turn on my back. It takes a while to figure out which fit works if you move around a lot, but the nasal cushion does move when. you do and you will find yourself adjusting the cushion when you're half asleep because it's pretty easy to figure out if you have a leak. I do appreciate your videos as they have been very helpful...especially the one where you dissected the terminology for the therapy.

Hi Marianne, thanks for sharing your experience with the N30i. You're certainly right regarding the strap moving up over the hair during the night and hopefully they can come up with something to help with that in the future. Glad you enjoyed the videos. Have a great day. Nick

This mask was awesome. Then they took out all the hard plastic, completely changed it, kept the product code the same, lol. INCIDENTALLY, anyone struggling to use the "new" N30i (no hard plastic, all silicone) with their airsense 10, go to the clinical menu (hold both buttons for 5 seconds), switch from autoset to cpap mode, and figure out the pressure that you need, likely over a few nights of experimenting, so the flimsy all-silicone N30i doesn't blow out of position while you're asleep while autoset is adjusting itself. I found the average pressure my auto/variable set (changes pressure while you're sleeping based on perceived need) was about 10.5 (varying from 5 to 15 through the night, wrecking havoc on the mask seal), and when I went to cpap mode I manually set it at 7.4 and now it works ALMOST PERFECTLY. I can even sleep on my side again. Doesn't get me back to belly sleeping like I could do with this old hard plastic model from the video, but I'm happy enough, I suppose. Anyway, figure out the average you've been doing and start at about 75% on cpap mode. Good luck!

I love this mask (but the UPGRADED NASAL CUSHION with the diffusion filter is FAR QUIETER and more comfortable to wear than the one in this video. It is now available). The thing I really like is the fact that the high pressure exhalation is defused at the front and is NOT blowing at force directly on my partner. A lot of exhalation air escapes through the top of the mask at the centre of the head and away from the front of the mask so that's not blowing on my partner either. The NEWER UPGRADED NASAL CUSHION is certainly a great improvement and it is far more comfortable than this one.

There’s something I’m missing. I just got my N30i, and I (think I) put it together with the humidifier ResMed Airsense 10, but it’s hard to exhale through my nose due to the air pressure. Am I supposed to be breathing through my mouth? Wish it came with a description of what to expect and what is wrong/right in terms of FUNCTION. Everyone talks about the same points, but skip over the functionality.

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews  3 года назад

Hi there, the N30i is a nasal cradle mask and you will need to keep your mouth closed whilst using it. Yes it can be quite difficult in the beginning to exhale as the machine is pushing air into the mask at the same time you are exhaling. Over time you will find it easier but it can be difficult for beginners. Small masks like the N30i also have a created air resistance due to the smaller cavity. Full face masks are a bit easier to exhale with and you can also use your mouth. Have a nice day

Me too!! I just got this mask about a week ago and I can't stand not being able to lay on my side. I also found that the tubing on top is quite heavy and causes the headgear to pull forward and slip off my head. I wake up more now than ever before haha. I'm switching mine out for a nasal mask instead. I wish you luck in finding what works best for you!!

I have one similar to this one. I had the same issue, I sleep on the side and I wake up more with this thing blowing loudly and of course my eyes are puffed up like marshmallows the next morning. I dealt with this for three days and gave up and went back to my old mask which is the nose piece with the top strap and bottom strap. I think it is called wisp. The only good thing good about this type of mask is if you want to read or watch TV the nose gear is not in your line of sight.

Hello everybody! Thanks for the review!
I use this mask a week,it's very comfortable, but I feel a little bit cold on my head, so my question is:
Can there be any head complications(inflammation) in bald people due to the cold air overhead - air leak at the top of mask.
    Thanks

Hi Zev, you might just need to fine tune your pressure levels a little bit. Here's a video for you ruclips.net/video/pL4egwDrvbg/видео.html . It could be that the pressure levels are too high or it could be that they are perhaps too low and you're still having apnea. Fine tuning your therapy will also help with the dry mouth and nose but you might need to also increase your humidification levels on your machine and preheat your water. Here's also a another video on that topic ruclips.net/video/79redmNSwmg/видео.html . Best wishes. Nick

Do you use a humidity setting? A heated tube and a litthumidity works wonders! And a comfortable chin strap so your mouth stays shut. I ended up finding an old jersey headband that keeps my mouth shut just enough.

Hi Nick, I do enjoy your CPAP videos, but in the ' ResMed N30i Hybrid CPAP Mask Review. Should You Buy? Simple stuff for me and obviously for you, but some people need to be led by the hand. However, keep up the channel and your good vid's. Pete.

I have used full face masks with that same type of nasal cradle from Phillips and I can attest that keeping the seal as an active sleeper is challenging. It also tends to cause severe dryness pain at the nostril opening. The traditional nostril cushion may cause some mild irritation, it is minor in comparison.

I am wondering if the standard frame could suits me. On the other hand the medium cushion wich is included with the kit available here is slightly diferent because

This is a very comfortable mask - I prefer it above the Philips DreamWear (although the Philips provides you with nice replaceable sleeves/liners). Also a minus point is that it doesn't come with a diffuser like the P30i and I don't understand why because the nose parts are interchangeable). So looking forward to replaceable sleeves (even a little bit longer so it covers more skin) and a diffuser. Pleas inform me

hi Nick tks. interesting the nose piece is interchangeable, I may try. However, i get the feeling at a slightly higher pressure say 13 or so, the leak will be more than the P30i. Question I could do with some insight on Nick. I have been trialing different pressures, from auto pressure to fixed pressure, slightly higher to lower pressures. best result for me is higher, around 13+. What I have found, and this is my query, is that during these tests, I have been getting seal of say 2/20. YET, events results in the 0.3.-.0.5 range ( which is the aim after all. ) Trialing and getting seal of say 15/20 and even 20/20 can give event results in the 1-4 range, I am seeing a pattern that 'the seal is not that important if the events are really low'. I'd be interested to get any medical or resmed feedback on this. As I have been under the impression the seal is the be all and end all of the aim, but my results don't back that up. Hope to hear from you, and if possible with some info/feedback from medical/resmed. thanks Nick B

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews  3 года назад +1

Hi Buddy, to be honest mate when it comes to masks it's a very personally thing so it's hard to say which is better. If you took 100 people and and test them with both masks you'd probably find 50% said the n20 and 50% said the N30i haha. Both are great masks, the n20 probably offers a better seal for those on a higher pressure and the N30i minimalistic profile might be important for others ;-). The Airsense 10 is a top end unit and probably the best machine on the market however it is at the end of the product cycle now and i do imagine there will be a new device release in the not to distant future so i would not be upgrading to an Airsense 10 at this point in the product cycle. It's like buying an iphone 9 just as they are about to release the 10. Cheers

If you don't know what an ozone treatment is, it's a small device the generates activated oxygen which kills 99.99% of any bacteria etc. You just put your mask parts and other bits and pieces in a small bag and pump it full of ozone to sanitise it.
