UPS driver finds when you deliver kindness, the blessing is returned this holiday season

- ROSWELL, Ga. (WRBL) - In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, one delivery driver dropped off more than just gifts and now people from all over have blessed him in return.
What appeared as a simple holiday delivery, quickly turned into a Christmas miracle full of hope, love, and joy for Jessica Kitchel.
Kitchel and her husband Mack live in Roswell, Georgia, with their daughter Charlie and newborn, Chancy. On a day she thought a few packages were arriving, she checked her Nest door camera to find so much more.
Kitchel’s Nest video camera captured a UPS delivery driver saying, “If this is a ‘it’s a boy’ house, I hope all is going well with your newborn. I had a child at around the same time you guys did, I just hope everything is going good, God bless, and Happy Holidays.”
And as the driver walked away, he was unaware of the impact he’d be leaving behind.
“Like most parents, in those first few weeks at home, it can feel isolating,” said Kitchel. “The moment that he said that was a time I needed to hear that encouragement at the most important time. I was blown away that he would take a second to end his day to leave that message for me to see how I was doing, it just blew me away.”
The search began and Kitchel was determined to find the driver and thank him for the kind message. Meantime, she left a token of appreciation on her doorstep in the event he returned before hand.
With the help of social media, the search didn’t take long. A few days later, Kitchel was introduced to Dallan Harrell, a seasonal driver for UPS, and the kind message he left behind actually hit close to home for him.
“For me it was about bringing in a new life, it’s also a new experience and now you’re solely dependent for another individual, so with me being in the realm, I’m a parent now, I just wanted to check on them,” said Harrell.
Kitchel was so moved by his thoughtfulness, she had to share it on social media.
“I mean it blessed me, and I thought I have to put this out there and let other people know and I was blown away by how much it blessed everyone that got to see it that day and through the last several days since it happened,” said Kitchel.
While they spoke on the phone, she had yet to meet him in-person, until five days later when Harrell was back in the neighborhood delivering packages and this time the Kitchel’s were home.
“When I heard the knock at the door, I just knew it had to be him,” said Kitchel.
After Kitchel shared the message to social media, folks from all over have joined in to clear Harrell’s registry for his newborn, a way of giving back to him for his kind gesture.
“It’s completely overwhelming and this is just on paper, I have yet to see everything be delivered and feel it even more, overzealous with that joy,” said Harrell.
“I had no idea the magnitude of the people wanting to help,” said Kitchel. “Yes, he has a newborn, there’s so many things you need with a newborn, and so to just see how incredible the community has been, and his registry has exploded, and I just can’t wait to see what his doorstep looks like next week.”
Kitchel and Harrell also find common ground somewhere else: the power in a small act of kindness.
“I hope and I know it’s made me reflect on taking the second in your day to just see how you can be kind to somebody, and the magnitude, the power of just words of kindness,” said Kitchel. “You know, they’re free, and it can just completely impact someone’s life.”
“You never know what people are experiencing no matter how good it looks from the outside,” said Harrell. “People don’t hear these messages as often as they should or get the hugs, or kisses that they should, especially around this time, people are missing loved ones, my message is to just pay it forward.”
Kitchel says Harrell’s registry is nearly 90% sold out.
And the good news doesn’t stop there, Harrell says UPS has offered him a full-time job with his own route once this holiday season comes to an end.
It’s safe to say this story proves you can count on more than just Santa to deliver this Christmas season.

This is the second home in which ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).
As a Delivery driver myself, small thing's go a long way. Good on you mate, congrats on the little one.

Yup, did that for a couple years myself during my college years, part time. One family in particular really liked me and ended up inviting me over for dinner one night. Had some great food, drinks and a fun night listening to classic rock and their mixtapes just talking about life. Never really did that with my parents so it was a good time. Ended up doing that about 6 more times till I moved out of state for work upon graduating. Great people though, won't forget them.
You just know this man is going to be a good father

Such a beautiful and deserving young man. Thank you so much for showing a positive and uplifting story featuring a young black man. There are so many wonderful young black men in society. It's a shame that we don't get to see more of their kind acts!
Who ever raised this young man needs a standing ovation
You’re right. But you can raise kids the “right way” and they still grow up to be idiots. 😄. It’s a choice to listen to your parents. He’s a great young man. The world is full of them. We don’t hear about them enough.
This kinda of stuff just doesn’t seem to happen enough anymore. It’s awsome to see this kindness on both sides revealed for others. What a great example. God bless you all.
I worked for UPS for over 30 years and came across many coworkers like this young man. Also the Fedex and USPS people on my routes were a caring group of individuals! You get to know these people and they become your friends!
Our local FedEx and UPS drivers are amazing here as well. They've offered to set a very large, heavy object inside the door for me when I was pregnant. They've helped each other carry an awkward package for one person to deliver on their own. Just little things, but they're big. I love these guys.

This was beautiful. I love it. As a father of 3, I can honestly say I've never been happier or more proud, both before & since my children were born. I was in the 10th grade when my first son was born. I was actually terrified of becoming a father. I thought my hopes & dreams were over. Until his mother passed him to me when I went in her hospital room. He was so lil, so perfect, he was the best parts of me. When his mom passed him to me, he was asleep & he woke up for a second & looked at me for a second & went back to sleep. I put him on my shoulder, sat in the recliner by his mom's bed & we all took a nap. I wasn't afraid anymore, I was honored, I was proud & happy. Anytime I was away from him, wherever he was, was where i wanted to be. And when i was with him, there was no place else I'd rather be. The same for when his lil brother & lil sister were born. At 27 y/o I can honestly say, I had never & will never achieve anything greater in life than being my children's father. When I'm exhausted & want to give up, the mere thought of them is all i need to keep me going. They literally saved my life. I was young & naive, trying to make money in the streets &, long story short, some guys we had beef with caught us lacking when we were playing ball. All of us were hit. I don't wanna go into all the details bcz it still hurts deeply. But my son was all that was on my mind on the way to the hospital. When i was released from the hospital a couple weeks later, i wanted revenge. I went home to my guns & ammo to set some shit off. And just before i was getting ready to leave. My son & my lady came home, & he yelled out, "Daddy, we're home". While I was hearing him & his mother laugh, the man upstairs asked me if i hated the dudes that hit us, more than I loved my son & my lady. I put my gun & ammo back in my shoebox & put it back in the top of the closet, & went & watched my son's favorite movies with him & his mom. Keeping me from doing something stupid. I can go on & on about my babies. They're my whole world. Which is why my 1st son's middle name is Atlas (the titan that holds the world up), & why my 2nd son's name is Terrence (the male version of Terra. The name of our planet/world), & 2 y/o daughter's name is Gaia (the titan that represents the world). They literally are my world.
Smart man. God bless you!
Such a sweet story!! I'm sure you're a great dad and your children's names are beautiful!❤
such a beautiful story ❤
Atlas was made to hold the weight of the world FOREVER, as a PUNISHMENT of Zeus. That is like wishing all the weight of the world on your son.
If your daughter is Gaia, you'd better hope she doesn't meet Tartarus.
You do realise, telling your story, that if you had gone looking for those people, you would have been just one more of the gun nutter headlines in the news, every week, in America.
Probably shot down by police and your children forever embarrassed to admit they were related to you.
That is WHY so many people are against free access to guns. People with so little self control, so little adult rationality, can access guns immediately. Even though you were lucky enough to not have access to your target victims, before you finally became rational again.
Your first reaction would probably have meant your children would have been fatherless.
You would either be shot down by police or in gaol for decades. Maybe on death row. Your children and wife would live with that shame.
@@kissmycrown3453 Not smart.
Atlas was FORCED to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders, FOREVER, by Zeus. IT WAS A PUNISHMENT.
That is like wishing the unnecessary weight of the world on your small child.
A little bit of education might do more to help those children. In fact, Atlas was in part holding the world up to try to keep Gaia from Tartarus.
His parents did a great job! I can’t even imagine the father he will become. Many blessings to him, and all reading this🤙
