Attack of the clones is a very dissed on movie but I have a lot of nostalgia for it now. I also think it’s the most important Star Wars movie plot wise
and I think Hayden Christensen perfectly captured the broody teenager conflicted & transforming from innocent kid to angry young man. not easy to do but he succeeds. The only complaints tended to be about his lines - but he cannot be blamed for George's limited ability to write dialogue. Had he brought in a more talented dialogue writer it would have made a massive improvement to an otherwise great prequel movie. other than that you have the weird Yoda v Dooku fight and the last act about the 'clone battles' and the background as Annakin races to find his mother are a bit cartoonish at times. which is a shame. o/w still love rewatching the movies: and THESE "making of" documentaries are fantastic.
@@ZanderFoulner I agree, Maybe if George Lucas had more help with developing the plot, like what Dave Faloni did for the clone wars, then the movie would be a lot better. Hayden Chritstensen dosn't deserve the hate. I really liked how he played Anakin too
I love these documentaries they are so informational on movie making and they help you better understand what the hell george was thinking when he made these. Don't get me wrong I adore the prequels but these documentaries give me a better appreciation for them. :)
at least we got Rogue One & Andor- Star Wars at its very finest. Disney deserves credit for those. I'm just stunned the same company also gave us Kenobi and Acolyte. my advice watch the Charlie Hopkinson spoof videos they are utterly brilliant. ruclips.net/video/ymMoRGnn8R8/видео.htmlsi=lFIvzkDIm18h_RZ4
Ahmed Best is such a great guy. I'm so glad that he gets the appreciation of real fans at the likes of Comicon and other fan conventions. Jar Jar was so beloved by kids and he was so unfairly criticized. His acting brought the digital character to life and the likes of Gollum in LOTR owe his origins to Jar Jar.
I can't imagine being one of the animators on this and hoping the cgi Clone troopers hold up as if they are guys on a set, or location being filmed. It worked back then it doesn't hold up to the scrutiny people expect now of photo realism.
Yoda is very confident in his ability, Palpatine even called it arrogance. He knows he can take on the best of the Sith. However his small reach doesnt allow him to finish off fights. Both of his movie duels had the opponents (Dooku and Sidious) slowly shoot all their force abilities and then switch on/off to sabres. Basically Yoda has to react to their attacks. This is a big handicap especially when fighting deep within enemy territory (Senate/Palpatines office) without any allies. Somehow they have a very remarkable timing so Obi Wan has a chance for a 1 on 1 vs Vader, which, despite his misgivings and love for his ex apprentice, ends in overwhelming victory and basically end of Anakin. Only fantastic recovery by Sidious keeps his new apprentice alive. That, plus massive hate and rage in Anakin. So going into two 1-on-1 duels and nearly winning both is a huge success for the Jedi after disastrous Order 66 basically annihilates the Order. They keep the rebellion alive, bring Padme's kids to their side (which would become 2 of the greats + would keep both away from the Emperor). If Yoda managed to destroy Sidious this last act of ROTS would have been an amazing victory, but even without it, it was massive success.

These documentaries help me understand the film more.

Jar-Jar and Annie destroyed the Star Wars series. We have 3 movies. This is garbage.

Near perfect storytelling. Joseph Campbell would love it
