    1. Don't clip her wings.
    2. Buy a bigger cage. It is too small.
    3. Buy another cockatiel for her.

      1. You are rude 2. THe cage is perfect size for 1 bird, bigger cage then most birds ever even dream of getting. 3.Clipping wings is a personal preferance that every owner should decide depending on his bird situation. oh and 4. You are rude !

      @@grtjr71 1. You are offending.
      2. No, a cage should be large enough for the bird to spread its wings without hitting anything and to fly from one branch to the next.
      3. No, birds need the ability to fly because it is good for their health. Flying increases circulation and improves breathing, both of which are good for the bird. It is therefore not a decision or preference that should be left to the owner, as clipped wings are not good for the bird's health. My cockatiel reached the age of 24, I never clipped her wings.
      4. The bird needs a partner. Cockatiels are used to living in a flock and a human cannot replace this.
      5. You are offending.

my lord. there's no need for that. and the guy said that it was the last owner who clipped the wings... and if you have time to spend with your cockatiel, they can be happy. otherwise you NEED another one

@@kreeper988 How naive are you? You believed the previous owner clipped the wings just because this guy said so? Clipped wings typically start to grow back after 3 months. You can easily tell this guy has had the tiel for longer than that.

I have almost have exact same cage for my cockatiel. The lock mechanism is a little different but the rest of the cage, including the topper, is exactly the same. I love it but will have to get a larger one once I finally get cockatiel a companion.

I bought mine from a warehouse I found on Facebook. They are cheaper than retail. I've been looking around for Mellows companion but I have a tiny 1 br apartment so I'm worried it might get too loud haha. But yeah I'm excited for you, hopefully you find a perfect one for you and your cockatiel..good luck!

@@wh0a12 I got mine used from FB market place. It was super clean with no dents or chipped spots. I gave it a steam cleaning just to be extra sure no germs could remain. I live in a 3 bedroom house in a rural town, so the houses are far apart and most of the houses include a certain amount of land as well. My feathered friend has been enjoying the flowering and seeding tops of grasses I have been collecting for him. Surprisingly he has been preferring that over millet…who knew there was something cockatiels love more than millet.
I am considering changing one of my rooms to a aviary. I have an office/sunroom that has a 15ft ceiling and one wall with floor to ceiling windows. I would definitely need to cover or ditch the carpet in that room. I also have a pavilion in the back yard that is powered and has WiFi. I am going to screen it in so it will be another safe option for my bird during non winter seasons. It would be good for some outside fresh air and sunshine without worry of him getting spooked and flying away or getting attacked by a predator.

Do you have other birds besides Mellow or was the bird sounds coming from outside? It’s midnight for me now and I don’t have birds, sorta. I have 2 cats, my mom has a cat, and all 3 are indoor, outdoor cats to try to avoid fights over food for my 2 and Mom’s cat just finds his way out of Mom’s house. Because I leave cat food outside on my porch, I’ve had blue jays, other people’s cats, possum, and such come eat my cat food.
Anyway, does Mellow get along with the other birds or not?

    • @wh0a12
      @wh0a12  2 месяца назад +1

Yes I have two parakeets. They aren't behave enough to be out of their cage so they stay in their cage for now. Sometimes they chirp to Mellow which I assume it's like talking to each other. Mellow gets scared though if I try to bring her close to their cage. I think it's because the parakeets are loud hahaha..our house in the suburbs gets visited by this big furry black cat. It belongs to the house across the street. She likes to hang out in the bush on our garden. We avoid giving her food because we don't want it to get use to it. But it's a nice looking cat

    • @wh0a12

I don't. It's something you just need to get use to. You'll see in my early videos I used bubble wraps everywhere haha. Now I just watch her when she's out of her cage and make sure I always have access to wipes. Luckily her poops are tiny so that helps a bit.
