OH MY GOD YES! For many reasons...not only because I am a teacher and may someday have to deal with one of my own darlings coming after me and us and shooting us....it was the fact that those kids STOOD UP regardless of their own issues and impediments and anything that may have kept them from SAVING others who did not have their knowledge...I LOVE the last scene and CRIED whole-heartedly over it
I very much liked her in Sound of My Voice and t East, and kinda decided to watch everything she has been in. But honestly I felt quite let down by this and Origin. Another Earth was OK.
The OA is the first I’ve seen from Brit and I plan to watch eeevrything she written/been in. I love her so much. I love how she went in depth for the role and really tried to understand the role. Such an inspiration!
That's right, Another Earth was very thought provoking as well. I thought much better than Melancholia (with Kirsten Dunst) which dealt with a similar theme. Brit Marling is a very exceptional actress, but she's just as good a director and producer/creator of intelligent material.
But telling more would absolutely ruin the show for newcomers. We discovered the show without really knowing what we were signing for. And I think that the less you know the more you will be stunned. It's genius. No one should take that experience away from someone XD.
When my sister told me about the OA and described it like this I was like yeah okay maybe I'll watch idk And then I watched it and my life turned upside down
Same! Just finished it again tonight. Makes me cry every time and honestly I don't know why! I don't really know what's going on in the last episode, but I still cry!
I am so glad Brit is getting interviewed. A few weeks back there weren't any interviews on the show or its cast. This show should have taken Stranger Things's spot in EVERY award show that honors TV. The OA is a masterpiece, and that last episode, those last eight minutes, could well be among the best in TV history. Was sobbing my life out.
I just finished the whole 2 seasons last night for the second time. The difference (for me) I expected things from Stranger Things and they happened right away. I haven’t seen passed there first season. But that’s just me. 🤷🏻♀️
I think the creators can still do it if they want to so many platform now - youtube subscription, patreon, kickstarter... so many questions left unanswered but then again i have fear that the long story might get saturated.
Netflix is just killing it. Bill Burr said they have been the best network to work with. When he was showing them ideas, instead of shooting him down, they said take it even further. Nice to see people who are willing to take risks.
Watching Season 2 as we speak!! Effin' amazing Stranger things has nothing on the OA. Stranger Things is more of a commercial household name and the OA is a deep philosophical thinker that takes you on several journeys of self awakening. 3% and OA are Netflix's hidden gems and the best thing, imo, to come out of the streaming platform.
@@Elgsdyr impressive isn't it. It's better a 2nd time around. Meaning, I watched season 2 twice and I caught some things that weren't blatantly obvious the first time around
This show has to be watched multiple times. I missed so much in the first setting and it seemed like a whole new show the 2nd time. I am going to watch it again!
What a riveting breath of fresh air. The story swallowed me whole and sent me on a totally unplanned binge trip. The last episode of the season was utterly devastatingly shocking while beautiful and haunting. I still can't get it out of my head...BRAVO!
I cried on almost every episode like I have never before with a feeling that I am not familiar with and at the same time I watched this I was going through something that I have never been through in my life..... Thanks
We want SEASON 2!!! Best miniseries ever! More provocative, unpredictable pieces like this need to be coming out! This series raises the bar on Hollywood. Come on, now! 10 stars for The OA!
As a writer, actress, director, videographer, etc...this show kept my interest. Within three days, we saw the whole season and was looking for the second season after we saw the last episode. Personally playing the numerous rolls in production myself, it is a true gifting when people can perform more than one key roll in the productions. My hat is completely tipped to Brit Marling! Continue to go, shine and positively entertain us while giving us hope. Out of body experiences have been real for some people. I wish and pray the show much success!!! Keep going for it!!!
She's one of the most talented people in the industry. She writes some brilliant material and her acting is phenomenal - I really respect her as an artist
I was really pleasantly surprised with this interview. I find that a lot of morning shows stay very superficial and don't really know how to discuss weirder, deeper content like The OA. But you can tell these two are both really enthusiastic about the show and prompted a lot of interesting insight from Brit Marling...who I'm pretty sure is an actual angel haha.
Accidently discovered The OA in Netflix and seriously binge-watched the 1st season. As someone who had a near-death experience, this is an excellent series... Can‘t wait for the 2nd season!! :-)
When Old Night scene came I've lost it and fall helplessly in love with the show. I liked it a lot before that moment, but since then I've ceased any doubts
Brit Marling is truly the secret behind that show success she's super talented it's like she's been acting all her life even though she don't look like a celebrity
Brit and Zal worked 3 years on this show, it's their life work. They did the ENTIRE story ahead and presented it to Netflix with a reason, which makes me think they wouldn't of sold it by any chance without a 1000% certainty that it's gonna be made from beginning to end. (We're talking about Brit and Zal here BRILIANT minds) Just saying, I still have hopes that the "cancelation" was just a part of the plan, I can sense some very subtle hints in Jason's and her interviews as well.
antmagor Brit and Zal decided to continue on with making it out with 5 Seasons and I won’t give up until it’s back on our screens with all 5 Parts. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Never seen such a beguiling TV show beautiful in every way BTW did anyone notice at the end when she's in a white room and says homer's name it looked like the same room that Homer went into when he ate that coral thing from the tank, maybe that's the different dimension??
Wow like, why are all of her movies so thought provoking!? Lol I've loved her work so far but had no idea she starred in and friggin' wrote OA, so gonna bing it now.
Great show! Building a Mystery is a Sarah McLachlan song. The song you hear during the end titles of season 1 is a cover of Angel, originally from Sarah McLachlan... Everything is connected...!
Did anyone else cry during the last scene? It was so powerful and moving.
skye garcia I was waiting for the thing to open, but it never showed.
Was such a perfect fusion of courage and compassion. The Force is with them!
Sure hope for Season 2
The portal is invisible, as Prairie describes several times. The clue that it "showed" was the whoosh of the air and Steve recognizing what it meant.

i sure did
She is the most underrated actress and writer ever. I started to love her works when watching Another Earth, then Sound of My Voice and The East.
KyLe2492 agreed! her acting is so realistic it makes whatever she's in better
you missed her i, origin that's her best movie
I very much liked her in Sound of My Voice and t East, and kinda decided to watch everything she has been in. But honestly I felt quite let down by this and Origin. Another Earth was OK.

Along with the wachowskis, she made me sign up netflix.
In west Philadelphia born and raised...

@G Gomez yes, it was great. Watch it
PozoBlue need season 3!!!!
"Its about a blind woman who mysteriously disappears and then returns seven years later with her sight restored"
No. Its not about that.
@R KT first 10 minutes lmao
Philipp Sokolov couldn’t agree more!! It’s soooo much more than that!!
But telling more would absolutely ruin the show for newcomers. We discovered the show without really knowing what we were signing for. And I think that the less you know the more you will be stunned. It's genius. No one should take that experience away from someone XD.

That's what the lead on Wikipedia says! Someone didn't do any research!
I've already watched it three times I'm OBSESSED
TheMrage welp 5 times now, but I've made any and all connections
j k just watched the for the 2nd time and I'm still amazed!

Give to Brit Marling the necessary support for The OA. This series needs to conclude with their five seasons. Come on guys! @
I think the creators can still do it if they want to so many platform now - youtube subscription, patreon, kickstarter... so many questions left unanswered but then again i have fear that the long story might get saturated.
@@eugeneaniar7232 i was not gonna watch the show because it hurts when they do that and i watched it anyway... F U NETFLIX

That fucking smile is so heartwarming
I LOVE THE SHOW AND SHES SUPER TALENTED AND BRILLIANT
aw honey who hurt you?

I binged the whole season in two days over the winter break. Left me with a lot of question. Will they ever be answered?
Mike Walker I binged it too!!!!
Mike Walker I sat there a whole day binge watching it😂
Mike Walker watch it again fam, answer them yourself
no :P
Mike Walker knowing brit marling probably not lol watch the sound of my voice it's just as much a head scratcher as the OA
Netflix is just killing it. Bill Burr said they have been the best network to work with. When he was showing them ideas, instead of shooting him down, they said take it even further. Nice to see people who are willing to take risks.
Wait her real name is Brit? Bro the ending is mind blowing, she basically jumped into our dimension literally!!!!!
universal wraps damn that’s crazy
Yeah season 2 I just finished watching. Wonder if we get to see season 3 or nah

Agreed
Season 2 is friggen' amazing! I mean, season 1 was good, but s2 just blew me away completely. Some of the best "TV" I've seen in several years.

Kali Ma Parvati ? I didn’t know they canceled the show 🤔

She's so beautiful, talented and creative. She's a damned good actress in addition to being such a good story teller. My hats off!
I cried on almost every episode like I have never before with a feeling that I am not familiar with and at the same time I watched this I was going through something that I have never been through in my life..... Thanks
Great interview. Brit Marling is such a wonderful person. Thanks for sharing!
The movement choreography is powerful and beautiful...

Look at @0:55 / @0:56 how Brit was so much into her scene as if she was again in another dimension and suddenly comes back to the Interview 😮👍❤️
I love how her transition to smiling at @0:54, so beautiful :)
Brit Marling is awesome! Brilliant and beautiful! Loved the OA. She has a new fan!

Mari Kaku one of my favorite movies of all time

for a second it seemed like they were interviewing Praire.
Just finished Season 1 Holy moly!!!! Amazing.
Accidently discovered The OA in Netflix and seriously binge-watched the 1st season. As someone who had a near-death experience, this is an excellent series... Can‘t wait for the 2nd season!! :-)

surprised she's not another actor who acts on film with a suppressed British accent

Who's here after season 2?
Just finished it...brilliant
my grandad had a NDE and said he floated up and lookeddown and coulkd see his body on the hospital bed
This was such. a good movie..plus this actress is so beautiful
I just want to dance those ridiculous 5 movements in the middle of a high school cafeteria and get eggs and tomatoes thrown at me.
What a lovely interview
Idk how I feel about the show but I love this woman.
Absolute masterpiece of art. Philosophical and spiritual and symbolic. Ugh I die
Already done with season 2!! Can't wait for season 3
The OA for ever ♥️
