Now that is a cool idea Allan. Multi axis turning is something that I have to try. Been a fan of Barbara Dill for sometime now. Take care my friend and enjoy the creative process Cheers Harold
Very nice Alan. I never made a four sided spicket. So I see why you started with a sphere. I make these six sided. Which is do everything you did, but start with a cube. They are definitely fun to turn. Thank you for sharing. Be good
You have planted another idea into my mind. You have me thinking that I could make a small set based on a rhombic dodecahedron, rather than the octogon, and use them (with dowel spacers) to construct geodesic domes and other architectural structures. Thanks Alan.
It looks like I may be the first today. Interesting turning. I'm not sure what value they have though. It is an interesting exercise in sphere work. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and as always stay safe. 🙂🙂

There are multiple ways - all fun.
Thank you Alan for this interesting variation on turning sphere and multiaxis. 🤔👍
Glad you enjoyed it.

Send me a picture.

Really neat, Alan. The Romans could have used those when all of their plumbing was wooden lol. I also liked the term rotary gouge.

Fun!

First or not - I appreciate your visit.
Alan
you could cut thread in each end and make a "useless" box out of it
I'm glad it sparked an idea for you. :)
