Alan, here you go again with your special style and creative nature. Nice sphere. I learned how to turn spheres at the AAW symposium in Portland and have since turned a couple. It's fun!

I saw your original sphere video and mentioned it in my woodturning club meeting. I got roped into doing a presentation on it, which went pretty well. My teaching is not on a par with you though. This one looks interesting enough for me to try too. No more demos for me though. Turning is easy, demos are hard. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and continue to stay safe, as will I.🙂🙂

Wow! Definite next level stuff!! I’ve just started on mastering the sphere …. It’s a tricky old job that you make look easy!

I disagree that it is tricky. Follow the method and it self corrects.

Just beautiful Alan. Have you ever tried a sphere from a square block. The block doesn't really have to be exactly square. Hold it corner to corner. Spin it. Drag your bowl gauge a few times to the left. Drag it a few times to the right. Then you will see a ghost of a sphere. Go after that. Then continue the few changing angles like what needs be done on making it round. I saw this idea from Ronald Kane. I think this is almost flawless. Your video was very enjoyable. Thank you for sharing

Another interesting technique. However, I'll stick to the octagon method and save that for more fancy work.
