Oh Bluegrass is alive & well, but its not Pop music. Lots of young people in country towns listen to & play it. They also play newer versions like Newgrass, Folkgrass, & California Grass - as well as Old Time music from the 1800s. There's even a black group, the Carolina Chocolate Drops, who play Minstrel music from the Civil War era.
