  • Once in a while, a curious RC creation comes along that's worth a closer look. The Multiplex FunCub has all the right elements to suggest a great flying experience, but we had to take a closer look for ourselves. See if the FunCub can offer a flight experience that keeps it from getting bullied on the playground for those goofy looking tires...

Don't know where you guys went, but I miss your reviews. Very professional and to the point. You seemed to have disappeared along with Hobbico.

Such a great design. Glad MultiPlex is still making this incredible aircraft. Just built one up for summer. I'm currently flying with 2814/1100KV +12x6 and it's a great little flyer on 3S, get about 12 min putting around doing TnGs. 2820/970 + 13x6 is amazing performance. Slightly heavier motor but you can use the vent-hole in the center of the plane to house your 2250 3S. Just flying around @ 1/4 throttle, plenty fast with loads of on-tap power and torque. Cant say enough about this model.

@mickvk - Around 4-5 hours. The stickers take about 45 minutes or more on their own (if you're particular about their looks). We soldered the extensions, so that added about a half hour to our build.

I picked up one of these on sale this weekend. It will be my second plane; my first is a mini popwing. Thanks for the thorough review, you used flight terminology I'll need to look up to understand but it will help prepare me for the Fun Cub.

Hi, Brothers! I wonder what is your setup for flaps with Hitec Aurora. Could you explain? I mean what switches do you use and what are the additional settings, ie. what makes them drop down 30% and 70%. I am quite new to this kind of fun so I want to know the basics in order not to crash the plane during its maiden flight. :)

Great video, guys! I have to go watch all your others now.
I think the technical term for that landing behaviour is the "Hippety Hop." Hard on pilots!

I'm curious to know what the build time is on this kit. Well, on any review actually. Thanks for the great work.

I enjoyed the review well done guys. I got a question though: these Multiplex models, since they have two fuse halves that get glued together - how does one access / replace the servos later on down the line? Is the only option to duck tape the halves instead of glue? Thanks

Because the plane is so nose heavy, is this why folks who build the kit usually use the e-flite 480 for power? The motor weights almost 50g less than the Himax 3616.

Good job men. Thanks for your video's and help and tips I really appreciate them....this hobby can get kind of to expensive buying these rc and that rc and taking a chance finding out your purchase was not as it was advertise and becomes more spare parts and your out more money now.... I just finished up building my fun cub and what weight I needed also, to balance it out..first plane I ever had to add so much weight...???

We got away with sliding the battery WAY back in the fuse, right to the edge of the air exhaust port. We were able to avoid adding extra weight that way.
