Anyone here who have used an OG iPhone SE before?
I just found mine last week and white. I'm gonna send it to fix I'll still confix it right? The battery is not working on mobile also it turns on it's just a battery.
Me. Space Gray, 16 gb upgraded to iPhone X
I mean if you still have plans to use it, then a replacement ig might be worthwhile
Nice 👍 - how’s the X faring btw?
@@SaranByte For me X is a sweet revolution. I love this but sadly I think it’s time to upgrade this to iPhone 11 Pro, because iOS 17
4" is perfectly sized who needs 6"+ when u can have a proud and confident 4" with a great personality
LOL you’re right about that
Def not double meaning
I use the SE as a main 💀
@@GGSchell_OnROBLOX same im too poor
@@GGSchell_OnROBLOXI have a 14 plus but I use the se more
The SE 2016 is basically the most premium 4 inch smartphone you can buy that still gets security updates and isn’t manufactured by a Chinese company. Shame it will be obsolete soon.
Still using mine with a cheap mvno for online sales and music.
Using SE as my daily with new battery and OS 15.7.6
Awesome phone. So much lighter and more comfortable than the heavy new pocket warmers
what about security updates?
how much battery backup and SOT do you get?
@@anikshababsoudha8101about 4h
LOL how did you know the iPhone 15 Pros was going to be pocket warmers?
The original iPhone SE was an amazing phone. It was my second iPhone in November 2017 after the 5s i had for a year and a half before that. I think what surprised me the most was how long it has been supported. The fact it is still usable in 2023 is astonishing. I seem to remember getting 4 hours or slightly over of screen on time with the SE. Which is not great now but also decent given the size of the battery. It's also surprising that photo and video quality holds up still. I'd say the biggest downsides were definitely the unimpressive speskers and the lack of brightness. This is where Apple used to be innovative because a phone like this can function quite well even 7 years or so after it's release.
I would disagree with your last statement regarding Apple’s lack of innovation in recent times - its more to do with phones reaching their peak in terms of capabilities rather than Apple not offering enough imo. Also with software support alone, I’m sure newer iPhones will continue to age better than the SE - my brother still uses the XR which runs incredibly well and might even surpass the SE software support wise.
But yes I do agree it’s quite incredible this phone is so usable even today. If I replaced the battery and also got myself one of those battery cases, I could honestly make this phone work in 2023. It’s not too bad at all.
@@SaranByte when you look at innovation on android, it's quite clear Apple has a long way to go on customization. Apple does a lot well, but you are blindly an Apple fan if you think they are innovating. I mean look at the design alone. Since the iPhone X in 2017 the design has been mostly unchanged. And before that, they used the same design from the iPhone 4 with the 4.7 inch screen with Touch ID all the way up to the modern SE 3. I'll give Apple credit, their design works well but it also lacks innovation and is a bit boring. With that being said, I will also say iPhones aging well and holding up over the years with build quality, software support, cameras and even using them after support is very impressive. And it's why I love iPhones even despite the lack of innovation. Because having a phone you can use a decade after it's release it unbelievably amazing.
I replaced my battery on the se myself with a stronger and newer battery (Polarcell) and the I can go throughout an entire day with it. Not expensive at all ❤
Do you have a link? Id love to do the same
@@TheoPhilpotpolarcell is easy to find on google and not only for this phone
The perfect smart "dumbphone" , using it for sms call and music is awesome.
I use se 1st gen my main phone and iPhone SE 2nd gen as my secondary phone
and going to Mac Store later this week to get new battery installed in SE 1st gen - will keep them as a second/backup phone.
When I first bought it at 2017 i was absolutely happy with it, fast i could do anything with it , the only thing that bothered me was having a small storage. I still have it in 2024 with me in case if something happens to my new one
I still have my original IPhone SE which I bought in 2016… it still works well. I bought it because of its smaller size. It takes decent photos. It does exactly what it needs to do.
still my everyday driver... works really well. was using a regular iphone 5 until about a year ago when it was made almost impossible to use because of 3g shutdown. after turning off all the privacy and data sharing settings, the battery lasts about a week if i dont use it much and i end up charging around every other day with my regular use.
Sabe qual apple watch é compatível com ele? Tentei conectar o Series 7 e não emparelhou, depois vi que precisava do ios 16, tem algum apple watch que não precisa do ios 16?
I just bought a iPhone SE 2 for a backup phone and it feels tiny compared to my iPhone 12..i don't think I could go bk to anything smaller than 4.7 these days.
I had an iphone SE before, but after a couple of years it had broken completely.
I have two of them (SE first gen) and just now bought a new phone (SE third gen).
I still have one as a second device and it works fine.
I picked one up for $30 and it’s still such a good capable little device!
For sure, still works really well as a backup device 👌
From where
@@SaranBytei use it everyday as my main phone
i'm still using that phone... i love my phone so much but its battery health is 79% now :( i've been using it for 5 years. i don't want to say goodbye it. i want iphone 13 mini but it isn't being produced anymore i think... and in my country, unfortunately iphone 13 mini is expensive.
Bro the battery on my iphone is at 17% and will last a grand total of 10 seconds off the charger before dying.
Get a mophie case. It adds battery to the phone. My se last all day.
I own this phone still in 2023 and it’s still running well
Does it freeze up?
@@K3zz21 I am using SE in 2024, it is perfect, never freeze up. My battery doesn't do well it only good for 24 hours. But it dies when face timing. I still have original battery from 2016. Planning to change battery.
I have this gem and bought it for $50. It works great for me and actually serves my purposes. The battery life decreased however but it's still enough for not bothering me.
same :)
Get a mophie case.
Im currently using a Samsung S22 (as I have always been an android boi) and really enjoy it. But, I just need to get into the Apple ecosystem. Literally everyone I know uses iMessage and Apple products so i'd like to give it a shot. I used a few Apple products back in the 2015 days but havent touched them since. I was gonna go for a 6S, 8 or 2020 SE but this just seems cute and manageable for a beginner. Probably gonna pick one of these up and if I like iOS its a 15 pro when they come out 🎉
Update?
@@ZaHandle Got an SE 2022 and ended up getting a Mac and an Apple Watch
I love your English speaking ❤❤❤
I have a question, what's your battery health on your SE? Because I'm thinking of getting one that's at 91% just until I can get a newer iPhone again. Do you think one at 91% would have slightly better battery life?
Just get a bigger battery. + 35% more energy nowadays at the same size. I got the polarcell
@@DAVIDEMARTELLOwhere could I buy that one? The extended ones on Amazon seem suspicious
Quote from Apple Store Seattle - only $69 to install new battery.
My daughter hate to see me going around with iphone SE, which is looks like iphone 5. Couple years ago she got iPhone 12 for me, I ended up giving it to my husband he had 11 at that time. This year my daughter got iphone 15 for me, I'll keep it as backup if my SE will die one day. Every time I am asking my daughter not to try to switch me to new phone, but she cant understand. I think SE 1st gen is perfect size, very durable and comfortable and quick.
I bought one for my mom 32 gb, for basic usage is great
Good to hear, my mum was using the SE for years too - she eventually wanted something bigger so I got her the 12
Im actually looking at these now just because its about the only good option for a 4" screen.
buy one, they are amazing
Love it
Glad to hear!
Still good
Sir will you provide me i phone SE 32
The B-Roll in this is 🔥 ngl
Thanks bro, I appreciate it!
I’m watching this on my OG SE right now. I love this phone. Apple, let’s go ahead and throw an A17 Pro with 8gb of ram in this phone body lol
Watching from the Philippines
Thanks for stopping by 🙏
Se 1st gen or 6plus which is better
SE anyday, 6+ is simply obsolete, sheer paperweight
I feel bad for you. Im on iphone 7 and it sucks, specifically the battery even if its a new battery
Dw I'm not using this as my main device - as I said in the video, this really only makes sense as a backup device because the battery life is so average.
I use it as my only phone. I don't want to spend my day using internet. I use it when I m at home. And this phone still works perfectly. I'll buy an I phone mini when this SE will be too slow.
Love this phone
Solid device for sure, despite its age
Question my friend 1st of all is good to see you buddy from New York City 5:36 PM Wednesday may 10. You know I got the iPhone 12 pro Max battery percentage is 87%. I had it for 3 years how many? Many more years do I have with this phone 3 more 4 more? What do you think
You can keep using it till the battery life becomes unacceptable for your standards imo, it should prob get another 4 years of updates
@@SaranByte I know the IOS17 coming around the corner. How many updates do you think this phone could Four years of update
@@SaranByte Thank you for answering my question buddy god bless you have a wonderful day
Yeh 4 years of updates sounds about right
Np, and thank you 👍
hey Saran! been a while, how are you?
I’m good man, how are you?
I’m doing great myself
Where can i buy ip 5se now 😢
You can usually find them used/refurb on eBay, at least here in the UK
@@SaranByte thank you so much 🤝🤭
💯
Do you have the SE?
bought one for 21$ with ios 13 lol
How much does that cost?
I’m based in the UK, but I see it for under £50 here
👍
Do it in 2024
👍
Can this film some RUclips videos ?
Video is acceptable for RUclips videos, but battery life defo won’t last long enough lol
@@SaranByte Yes i know The Battery life isn't good
@@pearlos its easy to replace the battery. Im still running my se, badass phone.
@@Moeshutter-fj1vv Even if you replace it, this phone to begin with didn't have terrific battery life. I guess you can make it work if you're a light user and you're willing to charge the phone multiple times a day, but the battery life is why I would only recommend using this as a backup or secondary device.
Just the simple fact that the battery life is on the super suck side makes this phone not worth getting. Or at least not for a lot of money. I know people who sell it for about $80, but for this battery life this is too much money. You buy it and you can barely do anything it cuz the battery doesn't last, so you end up just keeping it in your pocket and refrain from using it in order to preserve that battery charge in case you have an emergency and really need to make a phone call. Maybe some geeks say that they can live with this flow, and that's perfectly fine, but at the end of the day it's still a "cell-phone"! You carry it around so it can save your life when you need it. But if you carry this around and the battery dies quickly, this can make the difference between life and death. I know sound dramatic, but to me, at least, the battery life is a dealbreaker and I am not gonna compromise on this. The phone looks good, it feels good in the hand, it's handy and it's pocketable, but that's it.
Replace the battery
You looks like indian
What if you don’t play games, have social media, or use the camera all that much.
Just use for messages and phone calls and light web surfing and use of navigation. You think it would work well? I found my old one and might transition and limit my usage.
it works perfect, face timing is killing battery in 10 min. Calling, texting is good for 24 hours, navigation only 2 hours. But I never replaced battery so it's 8 years old.
