- The Original iPhone SE was released in 2016 and was essentially the guts of the iPhone 6s in the body of an iPhone 5s for a much lower price point.
Retailing for £400 in 2016, the SE received 6 iterations of software support and is still receiving security updates to this day. You can pick up an SE online for between £30-60... but should you? In this video ill offer an overview of how the 2016 iPhone SE holds up in 2023 and whether its worth buying. In my opinion, this phone isn't a phone for most people to buy due to the age and it no longer receiving software support. But for some people, who want a tiny phone to be a backup phone, this may do the trick! Time stamps below...

This is a phone that I can easily recommend to anyone after a great budget device!
If apple made a modern take on this phone with updated specs, with the same design I would sell my 13 mini for it immediately
I'm still using the original SE, even though the camera sucks balls in this day and age, the size of it in my hand is just something i couldn't see myself using a bigger phone and be comfortable with it
Im still using the SE 2016 as my secondary phone. Changed battery recently. Still working fine.
Calls/imesaage/Whatsapp/Instagram/Uber /Snapchateverything runs on this phone.
Only thing ive found till date is ChatGPT
Chatgpt app wont install as it needs ios 16+
If apple launches the SE with updated specs and same design id sell my S23 Ultra and buy this.

in my opinion one of the most beautiful phones ever. Got one a week ago and I love it. Still runs smooth. You can install anything. Battery lasts for about 2 days which is crazy

If it’s draining too fast then replace the battery. Replaced mine today and now battery life has improved significantly
And good thing, it’s fairly easy to replace it by yourself.
I found a 128 gb iPhone SE unlocked brand new. So, I am seriously thinking about getting it after this video. I’m a light user, phone calls, texts and light web browsing and navigation.
Plus, I miss having a small phone and I have an old otterbox iPhone 5 case.
I have a second hand SE that I use as an IPod touch, but I’d love to get a new phone if that size.
Even as old as it is, the SE runs apps really well. I really don’t think it runs much lower than my SE gen2.
I was lucky enough to get a brand new SE’16 in 2022. The only problem was that it was the 16gb model. I ended up using it as my daily driver for 8 months which was fine as I ended up streaming everything anyway from Netflix, RUclips to Disney+, etc… I also had a subscription to Apple Music which was great as it has excellent Bluetooth connectivity. I did keep it in a protective case with a screen protector too so I could maintain the condition as it would have been a shame to damage such a rare and pristine phone nowadays. I have now retired it, placed it back into the box and have moved onto a brand new iPhone 13.

you guys will call me crazy I'm might step down from my 13mini to my old iPhone se I have the 128gb black version and I just change the battery now it's running faster and last almost a full day, I just can't get over it I had this phone since I was 16 years old

The original SE is a legend. Great build, great looking, great size and weight, camera is still fairly decent, all the apps work and it’s got the latest security updates. Buy a new one or one with a new genuine battery and it still has decent battery life as well.
question so I wanna replace my galaxy a32 5g with something better, but i dont know what to replace it with. My budget is in between $200-$400. For Android I was thinking a S21,S22,Pixel 6 or Pixel 6a. For iphone i was either thinking a iphone se 3, one of the iphone 11's or one of the iphone 12's?

This is a perfect phone for social functions and events where you risk getting your phone stolen like concerts and clubs.
I use a iPhone SE 2016 phone as my only phone. I’ve had mine for 4 years lol. I refuse to upgrade cause I can’t be bothered learning all the new features lol.
I love it. Battery is pretty shit now and lasts about 5 hours- never been a problem for me.
I’ve dropped it a million times- still going strong. Lol

They did make a special 128GB version. Im looking to get this SE as a travel back up to my mini lol. I have some cool cases when I had a 5s. Like they made some cool cases for iphones back then
i have iphone 13 mini as my main phone and i just got the SE 1gen 128gb a few days ago (refurbished new and cealed) as a backup phone and its great. i could use it as a main phone as i only use it for calling and texting.
I have this as my back up phone but the battery life of mine is excellent stand by can last days and not draining so fast even watching youtube videos.

I bought a new, sealed 64gb one to add to my collection.
I love small phones. (Not to sound weird) I just upgraded from my pixel 5 to a 7 pro and let me just say, wow. I already thought my 5 was pretty nice, 5-6 inches is perfect for a phone but 7 is just really large. I usually only use my phone with one hand and 7 inches is just too big.

I have a Jelly 2 phone and it is much smaller than this, I am looking at buying a SE.
ive been using an iphone5 as my daily driver since i bought it in 2011. i finally had to start thinking about upgrading last year once they turned off 3g towers in my area (USA). A big deal for me is reparability. obviously if I got 12+ years out of my last iphone, i have basically replaced every single component more than once (kind of like the uss constitution or hms victory lol, is it the same phone?).
in this interim period I went and bought a sim card 4g LTE modem and continued to use my old phone on wifi only and what i discovered was really interesting. Most of the battery drain on these older devices running newer IOS is because apple glitched them out to constantly run the mobile antena in "boost mode". if you hold these old phones next to an AM radio and listen to the RF interference, you will understand what i mean. I was getting similar battery life no matter how often I replaced the battery until I got my little sim card modem and unplugged the modem cell phone antena. all of the sudden my iphone5 lasts 3 or 4 days of screen off time and i get about 5-6 hours of browsing the internet screen on time. kind of crazy given the size of the battery in these older phones, its like ~1400mah or half of the newer iphone14 lol. but I recently went out and bought a bad IMEI + smashed up iphone SE 2016 for like 7$, aswell as a pristine iphone 5S for another 8$ on a 2nd hand auction site that starts with an E. by transplanting the guts of the SE into the iphone5S (some minor melting of a ~5mm plastic spacer in the top right was required lol), and by buying a brand new 2016 SE 64gig logic board from ali exp for ~12$, ive got a somewhat current phone now in the same exact form factor for basically the price of 2 coffees and a box full of spare parts to keep it going. glad to finally be on a 64bit chipset, hopefully ill get another 12 years out of my phone instead of polluting the world with more e waste. o and i like the fact that i have a headphone jack dang it apple.

@@RamMohammadJosephKaur uh if you open the phone up its the one wire that connects to the board by the vibrator motor in kind of a weird press on way. just take something long and pop it off the board. it has a single piece metal connector and is about 2mm in size, just clicks on to the logic board with the press of a finger, comes off with leverage. this will make the 3g service stop working but the battery will last way longer. not an issue here in usa 3g is all turned off

All the apps I use still work with iOS15 but I know that will change soon, maybe another year or so then I'll have to retire it.

Reasion why its so slow the SE because its iOS 15.7.7 its mich harder than original verzions iOS but you can’t use the some application on older verzion why have exsample older verzions od iOS 14.4.2 or 13.1.3 he’s dont need upgrating to the last verzions to 15.7.7 because will be so slow device stay on that older iOS and you will have fast SE

The SE’16 can run any apps when updated to iOS 15. It’ll still be fully supported by third party apps in 2023.
