I had a Iphone SE 1 for long time and recently it just just stopped. I loved the size and everything about it. I want to get another one. It is sad that Phone companies stuck on big phones and no one is building small phones.
The closest thing right now is the iPhone 13 Mini but that’s still big in comparison. I would love a modern 5 inch phone or smaller especially with thin bezels and great camera(s)
wish I could same the same about my home button aha photo quality blows my mind honestly for such a small device. I definitely love my OLED screen tho 😂
I love the size of my Gen1 SE. Compared to it, my SE2 seems huge! The Gen1 SE is amazingly easy to carry around and to use one handed. If I want to use a larger screen I just grab my iPad mini.
I just got the iphone SE refurbished (new and sealed) last week as a secondary phone. The battery life isnt awful as some might think as long as your not a heavy user like me as i do most of the main things on my 13 mini but i still use the SE for texting and calling and about an hour of music every day using airpods at the gym and it gets me around over 6hours of battery life every day which is impressive. There is an option where they sell a bigger battery for the SE 1gen model (2010mah) and i can have it replaced from 3rd party iphone repairs. The small size of the SE is just such an experience especially doing work outs at the gym even my 13min feels too bulky and it gets in the way.
watching this video with my SE 2016. got this phone as a gift wayback 2017, and still using it until now. havent changed the battery, and its on 87%. so far so good hehe
My daughter is using my 1st gen SE now and she likes using it. l’m still using my old iphone 7 with a new replaced battery. Not thinking on upgrading this year since I bought the ipad mini 6 for media consumption.
i’m thinking about replacing the battery on this phone and using it for a few months until Verizon Prepaid works with the iPhone 14 series. Honestly this phone is good enough to get by
Still using my 2016 SE, with new battery couple of years ago. Shirt-pocket size is important, and basically, my use is very text-orientated: reading ebooks, reading news stories. Safari Reader Mode makes text a good size. Lower Power Mode works well to extend daily battery life but also being near a charger.
I “upgraded” to an iPhone 13 Mini a few days ago, it’s really nice and the size is… better than the iPhone/iPhone Max sized devices. Wish it was a 5.1 inch device rather than a 5.4 but it’s better than nothing especially since we have rumors that the next iPhones are gonna be even bigger. Gonna replace the battery in a year or so and try to keep this for as long as possible
it’s a really good phone! if the camera was a bit better I would’ve put in a new battery and use it aha I just got a 13 Mini for $200 and it’s been a joy to use :)
I have a the original SE as a backup phone from when I had it back in the day. Since ive gotten older I use my phone less and less. I don’t have socials they’re terrible and don’t like to be on a cell phone all the time. YT is the closest thing to socials that I participate in. This phone helps with using your phone less and actually doing more with your life. The battery life is fine on my SE. for the low key user like me it works great. Last all day. I’m on my cell phone less than an hour a day. I miss old smaller phones. Cool update on 2016 iPhone in the 2020’s.
I totally understand and agree with you. I use my phone as a vlogging device so if I have an actual camera (like I did before) my phone usage goes lower and lower to basically phone calls and text messages. I might sell my iPhone once I get another camera and pop my sim back into my iPhone SE after getting a new battery and home button for it of course
The battery life is absolutely the only reason that I finally bit the bullet and upgraded from my first gen SE to the 2020 SE. According to the Battery Health assessment, the battery is still at 95%, but it drains at a ridiculously rapid pace. Even keeping it charged to 100% before heading into work, I would end the day with a percentage in the 30's despite only using it lightly on breaks. Before upgrading, I'd keep it in Low Power Mode all day, which helped a bit, but it would still burn through battery with light usage. It's a real bummer for me, because I prefer the smaller form factor of the 5s chassis and there aren't really any comparable options available anymore.
I believe the phones battery would still be good if it came with the update the phone shipped with, I think by adding more and more features/options/updates to the device it caused the massive battery drains we’ve experienced. The phone was definitely not like this when I first purchased
