    I just got the iphone SE refurbished (new and sealed) last week as a secondary phone. The battery life isnt awful as some might think as long as your not a heavy user like me as i do most of the main things on my 13 mini but i still use the SE for texting and calling and about an hour of music every day using airpods at the gym and it gets me around over 6hours of battery life every day which is impressive. There is an option where they sell a bigger battery for the SE 1gen model (2010mah) and i can have it replaced from 3rd party iphone repairs. The small size of the SE is just such an experience especially doing work outs at the gym even my 13min feels too bulky and it gets in the way.

    Still using my 2016 SE, with new battery couple of years ago. Shirt-pocket size is important, and basically, my use is very text-orientated: reading ebooks, reading news stories. Safari Reader Mode makes text a good size. Lower Power Mode works well to extend daily battery life but also being near a charger.

      I “upgraded” to an iPhone 13 Mini a few days ago, it’s really nice and the size is… better than the iPhone/iPhone Max sized devices. Wish it was a 5.1 inch device rather than a 5.4 but it’s better than nothing especially since we have rumors that the next iPhones are gonna be even bigger.

    I have a the original SE as a backup phone from when I had it back in the day. Since ive gotten older I use my phone less and less. I don’t have socials they’re terrible and don’t like to be on a cell phone all the time. YT is the closest thing to socials that I participate in. This phone helps with using your phone less and actually doing more with your life. The battery life is fine on my SE. for the low key user like me it works great. Last all day. I’m on my cell phone less than an hour a day. I miss old smaller phones.

  • @michaelowen1694
    @michaelowen1694 Год назад +5

    The battery life is absolutely the only reason that I finally bit the bullet and upgraded from my first gen SE to the 2020 SE. According to the Battery Health assessment, the battery is still at 95%, but it drains at a ridiculously rapid pace. Even keeping it charged to 100% before heading into work, I would end the day with a percentage in the 30's despite only using it lightly on breaks. Before upgrading, I'd keep it in Low Power Mode all day, which helped a bit, but it would still burn through battery with light usage. It's a real bummer for me, because I prefer the smaller form factor of the 5s chassis and there aren't really any comparable options available anymore.

    • @KevinGannets
      @KevinGannets  Год назад +3

      I believe the phones battery would still be good if it came with the update the phone shipped with, I think by adding more and more features/options/updates to the device it caused the massive battery drains we’ve experienced. The phone was definitely not like this when I first purchased

      @@KevinGannetsYour biggest complaints are non-complaints. I have a new old stock SE1 which I began using in April 2022. It was sealed and pristine so everything worked and the battery lasted 6 hours of SoT with iOS 15. I ended up getting a battery case and managed 13 hours of SoT which is more than anyone would ever require. The phone performed well enough, as a heavy user, and I used it mostly for streaming apps such as Netflix, Disney+ and RUclips, web-browsing, Skype, Apple Music (via Bluetooth speaker and car stereo) and instant messages through iMessage & WhatsApp along with some FaceTime. The phone does everything a new phone can do however you cannot really multitask due to the old A9 processor. It’s a great little phone if you are a patient user. every reason in this video to not use this phone seems to be so shallow and meaningless. The battery life problem can be fixed for $50.... and it seems to me that most of the other reasons aren't worth a mention because it's just someone who has too much money as well as a dopamine problem complaining about the most insignificant issues. $1000 or more every year? That is ridiculous for a cell phone. I would have never upgraded to the second generation SE if Apple Didn't introduce screen recognition in iOS 14

    • @KevinGannets
      @KevinGannets  Год назад

      Hey Austin! definitely not shallow or have meaningless reasons for upgrading my devices. Every year a new iPhone costs me $150 to $200 with a trade in or via selling my old device. I have over 365 videos posted on my channel so I definitely get my use from the devices you can steadily see an improvement of video quality year after year in my channel especially with things like Sharpness and Low light.
      I probably do have a dopamine problem, not sure if that has anything to do with phones? a once a year dopamine hit doesn’t sound to satisfying to me people who constantly need a dopamine hit are usually into things they can do daily like Drugs, Alcohol, P0rn etc
      I totally understand why you upgraded that feature is amazing! along with every other feature available in iOS 16!
      Having multiple camera sensors on the back is important for youtube videos because it gives you a lot more to work with instead of a single camera.
      Let me ask you a question, let’s say I only upgraded my device as you and only got the exact same iPhones as you what do you think would be the benefit of me doing that? is it just the money situation that you? the dopamine? the electronic waste? i’d love to hear what would the benefit(s) of me NOT getting the newest iPhone

      @@KevinGannets the fact that you could take the battery out says enough about the phone. 😂😂😂

      @@KevinGannets I actually checked it out. And there are some decent mid range phones with removable batteries. But no flagships. And now you know too. 😂

      The 2016 SE variant is a very good phone for someone who lives like a minimalist.

    Bro 😆 nothing apple makes can fucks with the Pixel 😆 I have a new Pixel and an iPhone 13 and my Pixel smokes it in photos and in everything. I might get rid of my X3 and get me a Mini for the side use and use my Pixel for heavier tasks etc.
