I got this, and its awesome, get the matching speakers and have some ear plugs ready, get a cheap mono block amp and couple of cheap subs like I have and it is superb

For the price yeah. Remember its not competition loud but loud enough to deafen you. As for bass out of them, I wouldnt say its xtra bass, thats why I have subs. I did a whole install, 2 subs, mono block amp (boss subs and riot R3400 amp at 1 ohm) headunit and the xb speakers for less than $1500 New Zealand dollars which is pretty good. I already had boxes and the sub wiring in. Took me about 40 hours to put it all in to my commodore. Thats including putting in 15 amp supply wiring and new wiring to the 4 new speakers.
Do you have any good equlizer settings i can try out on my head unit same one as this bro. Running 1 12inch 800 watt rms sub and 4 chanel 1000 watt sony amp ?
Just set my phone equalizer to flat and rock on the head unit. Crank it up to its usable max then adjust the gain of the amp to suit. easy set up
Never get cheap mono amos for subs if you care about your equipment and performance. They don't deliver what they say they do. But the HU is legit
QUESTION:
My setup is as follows: 4 aftermarket plug-and-play door speakers rated at 75W RMS (at 2 Ohms) AND 1x Fosgate P300-12" subwoofer (which has its own 300W RMS built-in amp).
I am currently using a line-out converter from my stock headunit to run the signal to the 12" Fosgate sub.
Now my question: With this Sony headunit, could I throw out my line-out converter (and my stock headunit) for a simple RCA connection to my sub with this aftermarket stereo WHILE ALSO send the same-old high power output to my four door speakers?
My goal is to send an RCA signal only from my aftermarket headunit to my self-powered sub, while also have some way to send a signal and amped power to my four door speakers.
My sub being self powered takes care of itself...all I want is to boost my door speakers with a headunit that can put out nearly 75W RMS.......meaning I'm not too keen on a separate external 4-channel amp!
I'm VERY new to all of this sound system stuff, and I need all the help/advice/suggestions I can get! Thanks guys!
Michael Fabian I know this is a late response but I have the p300 10" and this Sony head unit. Ditch the line out converter and run the sub-out RCAs to your sub. The Amp in the head unit will power the door speakers independently... Just don't turn on the "subwoofer direct" function.

not sure if you touched on this because the video froze on me.. but does this head unit have a pro equalizer setting to use your own personal preference bass treble mid ect so i dont have to set it to jazz rock flat hiphop ect?

I have problem with the player. I bought two of MEX-M100BT and on both of them display wont to turn ON, but when I switch on power supply I hear that Cd player is running. It's actually for boat, but I tried to connect also on power outisde the boat without batteries and I have the same situation. Display don't want to turn On.
If you have two and both won't turn on, it sounds like an installation/wiring issue. It's highly unlikely you got two defective models.

Hey I need help I'm confused is this getting 10 watts RMS to each speaker or 40 watts RMS to each speaker ????
All car stereos are x4 so each speaker is getting 1/4 of the power
I have marine version of this radio in my boat. Had hooked to amp powering 10 speakers and did good for a while. Barely 2 yrs old and amp is crap. Sony will not help in any way so I will put different brand stereo in my boat and never buy sony equipment again. Quality is crap and so is customer service
