The recently added Logitech G Hub RGB support is a nice little touch too. Haven’t used Chrome once since i started using GX.

Linus: "Opera GX is not secure, is not for gamers, their functions are not useful, and you shouldn't use it." Me: Watching this video in Opera. (edit): OMG this is the comment with more likes and comments I had ever!
I have tried lots of browsers, but ever since falling in love with Opera's mouse gestures years ago, I consider it a minimum requirement. The big three,(Edge, Chrome, Firefox) don't have it, though I guess I should look someday to see if they can be added by extension. I'm using Opera GX right now. I think you forgot to mention multiple workspaces: click a button to switch the window between groups of tabs, which is great for separating work/play, or putting something on backburner for a few weeks. Other good features: I use the GX corner often to keep abreast of what's going on in gaming news, not just releases. The popout video activates automatically, which helps so much when I'm watching a video but have to use another tab momentarily; the popout simply appears on top and I don't miss anything. Not totally unique to Opera, but their Speed Dial and bookmark syncing with an account are excellent features. And tabs are just the best in Opera,; the way they open, close, and rearrange is nice, but you can even see what unclosed tabs are in another instance of the browser that has your same account, so I can leave a tab open on my work computer, even close the browser window (but not the tab), and find it in the Tabs menu of Opera GX on my home computer to open it up there. I didn't know about Opera's business dealings, and I'm glad you bring that stuff to light. That said, I function better with these features, and at least when it comes to browsers, that matters more to me than misconduct by a separate branch of the company. You have to draw a line beyond which you're not going to feel responsible for what other people do, and I draw it shy of there. Not to mention, if my using the browser means they have less potential reason for offering predatory loans, I doubt I'm particularly contributing to any evil, particularly compared to Google and Microsoft's offerings. Also not to mention, if Firefox (the ethical champion?) had features like these, I would totally switch, and I think my current choice of browser tells them that more clearly than switching to a browser that lacks them would.
The reasoning stated here is that those branches werent doing well so they were selling stuff, I dont think that is really an issue with opera GX as everyone and their mother uses it (from people I know)
I used and I have to say, I actually like it. The customizable background, the shortcuts (like discord at the side), and I actually feel the difference in my gaming after using the limiter thing.
It's basically a requirement for me If I want to be watching videos or especially play games like PoE. Browsers were shit for a long time and Opera Gx really glaringly shows how behind every other browser is
Cornelius Productions yeah… I’m surprised how small the Firefox market share is. I’m A die hard Firefox user and I try to convert as many people as I possibly can.
yeah! The ONE browser that doesn't actively track your data and actually cares about privacy? psh!!! Hooray for Opera! The Chinese owned datamining machine.
I only use Firefox when I want to watch youtube on my school computer because my school district doesn't restrict videos on here. Also for PIP video lol
What about 'Vivaldi' How is that browser in your opinion, it's based on Chromium and has an older 'Opera' kind of style, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't really track you. It also has a lot of customization options for you to use. one I like is if I need multiple tabs open at once I can stack them then have them show side-by-side.
ive been using opera GX for awhile now and I'm honestly having fun with it more than I could with chrome, I like the web browser a lot, specifically for the whole full customization of it plus the background music which is oddly satisfying and relaxing to listen to, plus I really like that the music changes when you are typing/clicking in the browser or not its very fun to listen to the music change
I thought thats a Opera Thing. Switched to it because of that. Also i didn't forgive Firefox to have Killed the Tab group Feature. It was fucking awesome
I've used OnTopReplica for years. It's a program that mirrors any portion of any window. The only problem is that you can't have the window minimized or switch to a different browser tab. But it works for anything, not just RUclips.

And as much as I’ve been loving Linus’s videos over the years, I have to agree with others that every single day that passes he’s more out of touch with the rest of the world. They trash things that are actually super useful to like 99% of PC users that don’t build a whole new computer every time a company releases a new, professional-oriented top of the line component.
@@silentgameplays gimalaji blake I don't think you understood a thing of what I've said my man. I know how the average PC enthusiast market works because I'm one and I'm also a professional who's main work tool are powerful PCs. Linus has proven time after time that he finds things unamusing, useless or unnecessary because he's so accustomed to live around and use the razor-edge, top of the line components. I also disagree with what you've said... There's people for everything and there's people just like Linus but with the difference that they don't buy things every time a company release stuff because they review it or test it but because they want and THEY CAN. They do exist and they are not _noobs,_ but people with tons of money and passion/patience to use just the latest of the latest stuff. I do not judge them but they represent like 1% of consumers, and most of the times it seems like Linus makes videos for them. I built my PC years ago with a i7 4770K and over the years I've upgraded both the rig and the peripherals... the latest big one was to buy a Strix 1080ti when it was released, but time passes and tech becomes stale. I personally use Opera GX because my rig DOES fuck up video renders when I open Chrome and start using it normally at the same time and it is super useful in other scenarios like gaming, but Linus being so out of touch that he couldn't test a program that's targeted to not-top of the line-Space X grade PCs, in something more discreet than a 64 core CPU and 2 terabytes of RAM _(continuing with the over-exageration play of OP)._

RUclips already has that feature built-in for mobile users but they only had it available for a very short time on browsers (speaking for chrome).
Well actually, I use my phone and listen with headphones.
I like listening to horror stories as I play video games
The pop-out video feature exists in every browser it's just hidden, you have to press right-click on the video 2 times and click on the option 'picture-in-picture' and it'll do the same thing, opera just makes it easier to use.

And as much as I’ve been loving Linus’s videos over the years, I have to agree with others that every single day that passes he’s more out of touch with the rest of the world.
I personally use Opera GX because my rig DOES fuck up video renders when I open Chrome and start using it normally at the same time and it is super useful in other scenarios like gaming, but Linus being so out of touch that he couldn't test a program that's targeted to not-top of the line-Space X grade PCs, in something more discreet than a 64 core CPU and 2 terabytes of RAM _(continuing with the over-exageration play of OP)._

chrome literally tracks you even in incognito mode so i dont get people who say chrome has extreme privacy and opera gx is the fucking devil
2:28 "Nobody uses Firefox"
*Exhales loudly while watching this on Firefox*
firefox also has the popout video player...
I didn't expect Firefox only having 9% market share. I really thought it was like 50% Chrome, 40% Firefox and some others...
I just use it because it doesn’t take as much RAM as Chrome

been using opera gx for like a year and a half now, no complaints. It just has more features than other browsers so why not?
good to know, ive installed it earlier today n decided to watch reviews of it AFTER installing it. so far no complaints other then teh adblocker working 90% of the time, but for a built in one not bad

i like how they're calling opera shady here but in their recent videos they've been having them as video sponsors
They were just being transparent about shady practices in the past. They said the product itself was pretty good and Opera hasn’t been caught doing anything shady in the last few years

This browser is really cool, and I love how customizable it is. Also on top of all of that limit the resources it takes.
@quidzy Due to the resource limiters?
@quidzy Ah okay
For me Firefox > Chrome; it noticably boots up faster with roughly the same addons
Chrome feels a tad snappier when opening/closing tabs, but I don't really notice a difference in website loading speed
Firefox does boot up much faster though, and I love its reading mode
@quidzy Aaaand Firefox lets things use dark mode if your system is on dark mode lol
But what is "too lazy" for Firefox? It's just a browser, and easier to use than Edge (Edge's settings screen is a mess lol)
I use it to open discord quickly
@quidzy cause I have two disc accounts and so the desktop one can be my main and gx my other account, also for the book mark thingi it stills has to load up disc however with opera I just click and no load time and it has a mini bar for like reading a notifications as well as the fact that gx plays a louder discord ping that I don’t have Trouble hearing
All the gaming hardware he was listing and didn't even mention Gaming Sandals...WTF
wHAT
Or as we would call them in Australia, Gaming Thongs.
They won't work without Gaming socks.
They’re included with the gaming socks
My room it’s dark even when I’m not gaming and opera looks way better than any other browser in the dark.
me using opera GX and found this:
"I am offended."
felt like personal attack or something
Bruh he builds PC's he ain't got idea what he is talking about, Opera GX actually has some really nice little features that Google doesn't, also he is saying shit about personal information but google steals that every fucking time you log in
@@Gavrilooo Also that the incognito mode law suite.
@@Gavrilooo he knows alot more than you do... chrome is just better in almost every way except for customization
@@scidja8567 lmao, that's not true. Opera gx literally uses google lmfao. It also has ram and CPU limiters. So opera that uses google is worse than google? 200Iq
This actually makes sense. Software optimizations like "dont take all my ram please" and "please this time do take my ram because im playing a web game" can be very useful.
Or you could just use a browser that doesn't take that much resources, so there is no need for a limiter in the first place
@@RaccoonAct but thats what every program does when it needs more resources lol
@@Archimedes.5000 well opera gx doesnt take that much resources too
@@cloverdnibber9905 no, it takes almost the same amount because its on the same engine.

@@Sh4mall- Chrome is worse
I somehow just today learned about it and I love it. Could care less about the "gaming" features but the aesthetic is great and chrome is a resource hog. And it does do a lot of cool shit
