I think that duck and pheasant are going to end up being lifetime buddies. It seems like they bonded really quickly. I hope they both survive.
I think so
,
Wow, seeing that pheasant go over and comfort and warm the little Mandarin duck was amazing. Thank you so much for sharing that. Love your channel.
Thank you, Lisa!
@@whitehouseonthehill you should get a wood duck
8:52 AWW THEY WERE SNUGGLING TOGETHER AND THEY MANAGED TO MAKE A CUTE LIL HEART
REAL
Perhaps y'all should use heat lamps for all the babies born on the farm? Whenever our chicks have hatched, we kept them in very large Rubbermaid containers w/a heat lamp located on one side so the chicks can move to & away from it. We've kept a thermostat in there, & maintained a temp of between 85-95°.They've all thrived from every hatching. Just a thought...

Yeah I absolutely don't get why they wouldn't provide additional heat to such sensitive ducklings who clearly couldn't handle the cold. They are dying because they need more heat. It's simple.

It's very easy info to find online or even read a book! Its not a channel about a garden farm it should be called death by ignorance
@@paulinewilliams8973True, the ducklings were KILLED because they ignored them.
3:38 That was just heart melting
That was adorable when then pheasant snuggled up to the mandarin chick while it was hatching. It was the perfect “awe” moment for me. I had surgery a week ago Tuesday. I didn’t get out of the hospital until Friday. I went back in Monday due to complications and I am still there. Thank you for sharing that.
Ducks are so adorable. You're so lucky to have them. I have 21 chickens and I was going to get some ducks but couldn't
you are very correct
Move the nesting box lower and put a ramp up to the entrance. It will keep them warmer and off of the damp ground.
It so cute when the feetheren went over to the Mandarin duckling and cuddle up
Can't believe Bella is walking already!! Loved the video :) That moment you caught of the mandarin and pheasant was so adorable. Babies are the sweetest 💗
Thanks for all the work you put into your videos! We all appreciate it so much. 🙏
8:43 THIS IS TOO HEARTWARMING STOPP😭😭❤️❤️
4:38 so cute baby duck ❤🥰🫶🥹
The baby pheasant was so loving to the Mandarin
I love how the peacock was exited too when they found babies lol 😂
You could try a lower nesting box for the mandarins, so they could keep warm in the bad weather.
It sucks when animals die, babies or adult as you do grow attached to them. Also, I think that ducklings also don't start producing their water proof oil from their gland that is located on the base of their tail until they are a little older. So if they get wet, they will be cold and will need warmth until they mature enough to waterproof their feathers. It's possible that this information is already known, but if not, I hope it will be useful.
8:50...I melted. 😍
Praying it all goes well
I love how hard you guys work to get the best results
Thank you
It was so so cute when the other duck was cuddling the other duck while it was hatching literally I almost cried because of how sweet that was
I love hatching and bringing new life into the world. Such a sweet experience. You guys are my favorite people on RUclips! So proud of how far y’all have come over the years and honored to have been along for the journey! ❤
Isabella is so adorable!, and walking already, she's growing so fast!
Maybe you should insulate the mandarin egg coups when the baby’s hatch put more blankets on the outside or something maybe they really need that extra warmth
I like to watch you hatch all these beautiful birds, and your kids are adorable.
That was so precious when the pheasant snuggled next to the mandarin.💞
You will probably be one of the first homesteading channels to reach a million subscribers! You always do a great job with the videos and keep up the good work
I love those Manderan ducks. The colors on them are so amazing, they look like staues until they move. It is a wonder how they came to be in the world, with all that color.
🥺At 8:54 in, my heart melted. Such a beautiful thing to witness.♥️ Thank you for sharing this.
Great job editing this story ! Bravo on all the hard work and congrats on the success !
Yes I think so
Ive been having a rough day these past two days and seeing your video being posted today really made me feel better
hope it gets better
I think once you have your aviary ready, you can let the parents take care of the chicks. My dad used to have wood ducks and mandarins in the same enclosure with cranes and partridges, and every year they would hatch 10-15 ducklings, and in bad weather the mother would just take them behind some large rocks away from the wind. You still do get the occasional turf war between pairs though.
You may have answered this already, but why can't you do heat lamps to ensure warmth?
Ducks are my absolute favorite!
AWWW RHE SNUGGLING BIRDS R ADORABLE
The hook bill ducks are so cute! You guys did such a good job hatching them out .
I feel like this channel is very genuine have been following them since they had like 82k sub.
Now they have grown. It feels good to see that.
White House On The Hill videos always have such wholesome vibes. ❤
Sorry for your loss keep up the good work
It's good that you guys are learning from your mistakes!
8:50 Omgggg there so cute!😻😻😻😻
There's no ugly ducklings there , they're beautiful little creatures 🐣
These videos are always great. It’s amazing to see all these new ducks.
Yay the new video and on my favorite birds!! I absolutely have fallen in love with mandrin ducks since seeing your videos of them. They are so beautiful! It's so sad that nature is so unpredictable and took a few from you all. I love seeing how hard you guys work together as a family to take care of all the animals. My 4 children ( 1 boy and 3 girls) said they love seeing your kids make things with Legos for the bees and watching your ducks on the pond.
Glad you experienced success with the hook bill and Mandarin ducks 🦆
Sometimes raising animals are difficult, but it's fun and beautiful to see them grow and go to their new homes
You're doing a great job. There's always a chance for loss in most cases but you guys are doing great with them. Keep it up. Looking forward to more content.
It's so awesome watching your family grow

But good job guys ❤
Bella is now a big girl
Ducks are my favourite animal😢❤
Ok
@@agentpoindexter3383 Ok
This is nature, I know it's hard for people to understand, but there isn't a perfect way to hatch baby animals, and let them grow up. Y'all have done your best, great job!
The ducks need to learn from experience to be good parents. If you let that same pair raise their own young again next year and the year after, they should have a better success rate each year.
Whether the heavy losses in the earlier broods is worth it is a different question
have you considered putting the parents and chicks into a barn of some sort so you have more temperature control ?
Thanx for sharing 😊😊😊
Maybe try an inside/outside cage? Similar to dog kennels. Then they can still go outside, but, have the inside warmth when needed?
I'm very happy when I see you with video thank you for taking a good time to make it❤❤
Beautiful ducks💕
Happy for you with the Mandarines....
You are a very good videographer.❤
Thank you!
Definitely upsetting when they dont make it. We recently lost a "rare" chick we hatched out and it was devastating. Enjoying your videos!
It’s always fascinating to watch your bird journey - the joy and the sadness. ❤️ (By the way, the honey is delicious!)
Thank you and glad you enjoy it, Nancy!
Wished more white ones had survived, but I’m just glad it was mostly successful hatches this year
Love these videos, months in the making!
🐼 Big Panda Bear Hugs from a 69 yr old grandma in Texas, USA. 🐼 ❤ 🎀 👍 🧚♂ 🐈 🧚 🍀

Hey question, the babies you say are freaked out when separated from their parents. Have you tried doing something like using a plush/warm thing to serve as a 'mother' they can cuddle up to? I know people do this for puppies or kittens that don't have mom and that provides babies with some comfort. I am not sure if it would work for ducks but maybe it could? get some stray feathers and attach them to some soft thing?
10:10 here we can see a awesome behavior of a skilled mother, the is trying to attract attention for her and not the babies so she flaps her wings and scratched the ground seeming injured
Hello guys what a heart warming video Jake and Becky your doing a great job so glad you finally figured out how to save a few they are beautiful how’s the aviary coming along
Beautiful ducks!
R.I.P. Little ducklings
The babies cuddling 🥹❤️
Becky is looking mighty cute these days!! 🤔 some would say glowing. 😮
Wow that is so beautiful that you care for them love this keep doing what you do God bless you 💞
I love duckling
At 10:20 the peacocks in the background cheering when you said we got babies 😂😂
Omg that baby pheasant snuggle 🥰
I am so glad I found your channel
those are some beautiful ducks
Try adding a heat plate. Producers pride is great. I would have add a shelter on the ground, even just a dog house. That way the ducklings can get out of the rain and draft free. Sorry for the loss.
We can all agree this is the best part 8:40
Very Informative video
I like chickens and ducks too.
How do you even work.... who wouldn't want to love on baby chics and ducks so day....I'm obsessed❤😊
