I think many armor sets doesn't look good in this game.. I dunno why ~ In Dark souls 3 i was torturing myself for getting kool looking armor and ended up loving the game and gameplay style. But I do love Weapons and dragon incantations however. I have Scarlet witch character on myself and Dr.Doom Dr. Strange all work exactly like them except armor sets. Female armors are lil to none.. in sorcery dept. while male armors like u mentioned HELMET SUCK balls.. Confidence man Mask works for my Arcane Dr.DOOM character but nothing else is like Jaw dropping awesome. In Short DS3 = Top notch armor. and in general Monster hunter World : Iceborne armors ......... just yummy.. lol I wish Fatalis dragon was in this game.
Since you didn't mention it, your first choice, the Black Knife armor makes no sound. So you can walk and run while enemies notice you as much as if you were sneaking.
there's a talisman that does the same thing, which I normally run so I don't alert enemies and don't have to crouch. I think with this armor, I might swap it to the assassin veil that makes you invisible when crouched
I don't know why Old Knight Istvan's Scaled Set doesn't get some love. It's a really good-looking set with stat's near the banished knight's.. You can can just mix and match the helm with probably the unaltered version of the banished knight and you look like a badass wandering knight.
Mix the raging wolf helm and gauntlets with scaled armor and leggings currently and it’s pretty good stat wise as well as fashion. I’m not playing right now but I’m pretty sure my poise is or is near 45 without using any talismans to boost, I could be wrong though.
I used that through most of the mid-game. Changed the helmet to the wolf mask or the navy hood. Also I used Hoslow's armor with the wolf mask/the royal remains helm for a while
Same. I think it looks better with the crimson hood it really goes well with the red on the armour. with rivers of blood Katana gives off some sith vibes
"I usually just run up on the enemy with a dagger or a sword and shield and just beat the crap out of them until they die" shows gameplay of him staying far away, constantly using magic
Radahn armour looks amazing and offers great protection and been rocking that for a while. Crucible knights is great also. The black blade’s one looks great. Agree Tree Sentinel is cool.
Great video Swany, personally I'd say the raging wolf set has to be my favorite but it's definitely a hard choice to make when taking into account how much armor is in the game.
You forgot about the Black knife armor passive. It silences your footsteps. Walking, running, and even rolling's sound has been drastically reduced or is non existent. So you dont have to crouch for stealth with this armor. If youre doing a stealth/ninja/assassin build this is probably the best set for you. Also yes it does look really cool
@@xdropplet not really. If you know about it already you can "kinda" see that but he's walking up to a group of enemies. One looking in his direction, while the rest of them were focused on the bigger enemy. He didn't even get a backstab off. So no, he didn't. Even if he did, he should still mention it. If you're making a list for top 10 armor, mentioning a passive should be something you do in the video.
My personal favourite is definitely the Ronin set. I love the cape, obviously the hat, and the pieces of armor kinda make it look like a mix of eastern samurai and western knight armor. Perfect for a wandering ronin, who is seeking the most protection with the lowest weight.
I've been pretty much sticking to the Twin armor, but with the cat version of the Imp head. Anything better, stat-wise, is too heavy. This armor does a great job and keeps me at med load.

Twinsage glintstone crown is top notch for any intelligence build, with that +6 intelligence. Personally when it comes to armour I enjoy the night’s cavalry armour, the black looks dope. Also the scaled set, two of my favorites.
I like the banished knight armor and radahn’s armor a lot, they have very good physical defense for their very light weight(compared to other huge heavy armors) And the best part is you can mix and match them to fit your preferences (since they have the exact same weight)
The Mausoleum Knight Set is awesome whenever I'm using a greatspear and charging around on Torrent with Sabaton playing in the background. Definitely love the design of the wings on the armor. Raptor's Set is also great, though I wish I had some kind of crow mask to go with it, for when I've decided to run around cosplaying Eileen from Bloodborne.
Kind of wish the blue cloth set made it on. It looks so cool to use as a spell blade but still cool to see one of my favs armors make it on your list ^o^ (#2)
While it’s not the best armor I really like the scale armor you can get early on in the Weeping Peninsula from the nomadic merchant, it has a really nice worn aesthetic that makes your character look like a wandering warrior.
Scaled armor set from the first kill contract in Volcano Manor. That set is both great looking and solid defensively, and puts you squarely at 58 poise, which is just past an important PvP breakpoint of 56. Functional, medium weight, great stats, good in PvP.
I just finished the game, first time, and I am amazed that this video shows several cool sets that I don't even have. Before I go into NG+ I want to get some more sets, such as the several the Fingerreader sells at the Table of Lost Grace. I did buy one, Starscourge Radahn's armor, for the Elden Beast fight and I think that did help: high holy defense.
I use Loretta's armor with the Carian Knight's helmet, with the Silver Mirrorshield and the Miquellan Knight's Sword, resulting in a really elegant-looking silver knight appearance.
The Alter Garments options for the Drake Knight armour set let's you remove the horn on the headpiece, it also removes the cloak if you alter the torso piece, the altered Drake Knight body (no cape)+Altered Banished Knights helm (the one with the red hood) looks phenomenal
I haven't actually altered it, but from viewing the icon in the alter garments menu it seemed the horn is still there, and only the scale scarf is removed.
Got the tree sentinel armor at the Auriza hero's grave, I used Margot's sackler and it destroyed all the chariots and that's how I got the armor. When I took out the crucible knights there I got excited only to see the tree sentinel armor was way tankier.
The Rahdan set would be up there on my list, but if you don’t like the poofy helmet, it makes sense it wasn’t on your list. Rahdan frill is so big it actually makes it hard to see sometimes.
Banished knight with the hood was my first playthrough! Second has been a mixed Viking/Assasin/Kight hybrid. Veterans gaunlets and legs with Kaden chest and Black Knife Hood. High poise and High fashion while still at a medium load!!
Some other great sets that are in the same category as the fingerprint armor in terms of weight/protection, if you find yourself using that class of armor a lot (medium, medium/light?)... Hoslow's armor has to be my favorite in the game, all things considered. The White Reed set is really great for anyone who has some investment in endurance as itll allow you to light roll with pretty good defense for being able to do do. The Omenkiller set, one I don't find myself using very often but still seems to have really good stats for the light weight. It's a notch too light for my 60% int, 40% dex melee build but it's still great overall. The Black Raptor set is pretty close in terms of weight, protection and having a good ratio between the two. The Bloodhound set is surprisingly light too, especially given how it looks and feels pretty sturdy and protective. And probably my favorite real light set when I want to light roll and carry all my armaments; the preceptor's set. Really a great set and occupies a niche that doesnt seem to have many choices...more protection than regular sorcerer cloth sets and a bit heavier but lighter than leather sets. Heavy cloth set? Whatever the case, it's really an awesome set.
I kinda wish armor like the black knife armor had a cool ability like for black knife not only should it make your steps quieter but should turn you invisible for a brief time after back stepping and in exchange increase stamina consumption
Oh damn, that would be nice. Black Knife armor is hands down my favourite armor already. It looks the coolest in my opinion and the quiet steps immediately sold it for me. Adding invisibility would probably be a bit cheesy for PvP. Btw. isn't there a talisman that does something similar?
I realy like the banished knight armor. The unaltered version of it. If you have time, it is a realy good heavy armor early in game. But the chestpiece is (altered).
They implemented this new mechanic that let's you mix and match armor. So if that helmet looks really stupid with the rest of the set, you can actually switch it out for something you like!
Bruh …. What are you talking about? “I haven’t played a mage build” *proceeds to play exactly like a mage against the death bird* runs away with horse, uses *only* the swords unique long range ability, panic roles away after each cast because mages always forget the casting time
I have all these night armor sets and I generally prefer the tree sentinel armor as my number two in terms of statistics and my number one in terms of using daily and tree sentinel is number two because it has better stats than the radahn armor in every category except it weighs more the only downside to the tree sentinel armor is the fact that it is extremely heavy and so if you're not playing as a character or if your build does not have endurance as a major key factor to a decent level then you're probably not going to be able to use the armor Plus all your weapons personally I can because I have my endurance at 70 which allows me to carry not only my weapons but the full tree sentinel armor set or the veteran armor set with all of my weapons and all of my left hand armaments
I definitely would have put The Beast Champion armor set, it looks so sick with the details on the gauntlets and legs, the helmet of it I'm not so much on. Also Maliketh's Black Blade armor, I mean it's black and gold, you can't go wrong with it and lastly probably my favorite in the game Juno Hoslows armor set, I love the colors of it, the design and even the helmet is sick on it. It makes you look like a noble prestigious killer!
Yeah I dunno why there can’t just be a single normal helmet design in this entire game. Everything feels like it’s trying waay too hard to be unique or quirky. That’s not to say every single helmet looks bad but I feel like I’m mostly restricted to the bloodhound helm and the greathelm for most builds because they’re arguably some of the most “normal” looking helms in the game.
I use the full sentinel drip, the armor and the shield and the halberd. I also think that the erdtree's favor talisman helps with wielding the armor as it increases stamina and carry weight. Also radragon soreseal or however it's spelled.
I wish you could upgrade the armor pieces as well, there are some cool ones that I wanted to equip but had to pass due to their pathetic defensive stats.
I knpw th8s is 2 years old. But i am rocking the fire monk armor. I am going for a intellegens and faith build, i am early game with the Night and flame swords with light to med armor. My first play through 2 years ago i went with dex and strength buld with heavy armor.
Uh uh now wth 😂 I was really fucking with it I really was then yo ass said GIANT DOG CHARACTER 😂😂😂 that shit cracked me up. But it is a half wolf half human btw but the giant dog killed me man 😂
Hi. In showing the crucible knight armor, what sword/ash are you using that swings the sword around like a helicopter then slams it down all the while emitting golden light? Looks like a holy attack. Appreciate it thanks
just like in DS3, armors in this game just suck. The game is designed in such a way that leveling health is just absolutely necesary because heavy armors don't negate as much damage as they should. I always liked to have a tiny health bar and huge damage negation just to match the looks of my character with the build, and here it's impossible. That is probably the only complaicn I have with ER. I'd have loved to see the DS1 armor system come back.
“I’m more of a ‘run up in the enemies face with a dagger or sword and beat the crap out of them until they die’” he says as he runs away from his foe and spams Taker’s Flame from 30 feet away lol. I don’t blame you though man, that weapon art is too good not to use. But because of that I think they need to nerf it along with some other weapons like Rivers of Blood and Moonveil or drastically raise the FP cost. Those weapons trivialize every other weapon in their class
cant believe you diddnt include the carian knight set only think i dont like is the little dingle on the head but i use a different helmet that looks good with the set anyway lol. last set. wow to eacht here own my guy i do NOT like that print set like at all XD. wolf mans name is pronounced BL (like black or blue) "eye" TH (like the word "the") after you hear him howling if you go back to kale he pronounces his name also how i found out kales name was pronounced "call -eh" and the evergaol is pronounced ever-jail (that last one i think is from poopoo nomnom man

radahns armor with Lionel's hat, since it doesn't have the plume

I use the full sentinel drip, the armor and the shield and the halberd. I also think that the erdtree's favor talisman helps with wielding the armor as it increases stamina and carry weight. Also radragon soreseal or however it's spelled.
I wish you could upgrade the armor pieces as well, there are some cool ones that I wanted to equip but had to pass due to their pathetic defensive stats.
“Giant dog character” 😂😂😂😂
Giant dog, that's a wolf my g 😂
I knpw th8s is 2 years old. But i am rocking the fire monk armor. I am going for a intellegens and faith build, i am early game with the Night and flame swords with light to med armor. My first play through 2 years ago i went with dex and strength buld with heavy armor.
Two types of players in soulsborne
Those who only care about armor aesthetic
Those who always ware the *Havel* armor in each title
What sword or more specifically what ash are you using when you are showing the crucible set?
It is Ordovis' greatsword
thank you for showing me the perfection of the fingerprint set its so fucking cool omg
But how do you feel about the helmets?
do the black flame monks ever drop the weapon they use?
Funny the finger print is the one I keep going to also. Love the look of it also. So clearly a dark souls reference
I hate that the (location) knight helmets are 1.5x as tall as your head, it makes them look really stupid imo
I still wear the confessor armor minus the hood instead i use the thief mask its simple yet awesome to look at
Veterans mixed with bull goat. Dragon Crest shield talisman. I'm getting 50 physical negation
Unaltered banished knight armor set is awesome!
My favourites are the Ronin Set, Crucible Axe Set, Blaidds Set and the Raging Wolf Set
