  • The Asus TUF Gaming B760 Plus WiFi is an Intel B760 motherboard unlike any other, as it's basically made obsolete by another budget B760 motherboard at the exact same price! While the ASUS TUF B760 specs aren't terrible, there's also so many other great B760 motherboards out there!

    This is a budget motherboard.
    8 pins are just enough to run any CPU because it can provide up to 12v*28A = 336W. The extra pins are just for OC stability and as gamers really don't care about OC-ing the CPU there's no need to get more than that. The motherboard is just fine for a budget board, I just got it and it feels really good. I had a "premium" Gigabyte AX370 K7 for 6 years and I'm telling you, there is no need to buy expensive Mobos, you'll never use all its features that you pay for and the extra cash could go in some other parts. Never used more than 5x USB, also PC case has USB-C + 2 USB-A.
    From a gamer PoV:
    1. How many USB devices are you using right now?
    2. Does SPDIF Out means something to you? Are you still using jacks from the Rear IO for gaming? (PC cases have combo or split jacks in front)
    3. DDR5 at that point was expensive and this option of mobo was to reuse the DDR4 RAM you already had or just get the RAM cheaper.
    4. What use would you have for the PCI gen 4 slots other than adding more storage? you have 3 slots M.2 Gen 4 on the board by default. Or you could add more USBs
    5. 4 x SATA connectors... why do you need more than 4? M.2 is a cleaner way to have storage. Need an HDD? there are portable 4 Tb HDD for 100Euros.
    Hope the best for all to find your best pick and be realistic with your needs.

So do you recommend this mb for what I have said?

    Where I live, MSI MAG B760 Tomahawk WiFi costs 190 EUR and ASUS TUF Gaming B760 Plus _non-WiFi_ costs only 150 EUR. I definitely don't need WiFi in a PC because it's not portable and I'll want to squeeze out max networking performance, so Ethernet cable will be enough. As I'm not a gamer, then I don't care much about DDR5 yet. It's good that it has USB Type-C at the back, which might be handy in some unexpected cases, and having more audio outputs are nice, too because I often end up connecting speakers and headphones in the rear output channels (duplicated in stereo mode) to switch between them easily.

    I bought the TUF today because it's the only one with a 5 year warranty. Who cares if someone else releases a cheaper mobo with a 1 year warranty? I dont plan on upgrading for years bro. Also, the TUF B760 is on sale for $180 right now. Sure, your MSI board is on sale for $180 as well, but that only has a lousy 1 year warranty.

    for me, its the exact opposite with teh cpu power plugs. my current board, housing a i7 8700f has just 1x 8pin. and that can run a 8700k, which is a 125watt cpu. since i torn between a 13400f and a 13600k, with 65 or 125 watt in that case, why would i need to use 2x 8pin and plug in more cables ?

    • @wrongin8992
      @wrongin8992 7 месяцев назад

      there only use case is for overclocking i believe, I don't see the point of the 2nd 8 pin either, because at the very least intel i5 stock should be fine with just 1 8 pin on stock

    Hello, This model of the motherboard has 12 power inputs from the power supply device, should I use all of them or is the eight input cable enough for normally? Because my power supply has only eight power inputs for the motherboard, I have a lot of stress about not causing damage to my motherboard if using eight inputs, all my talk was about isus b760 tuf gamin plus wifi d4

    I am a bit confused with the pci lanes. Can anyone clarify if this board can support a pcie gen4 (or 5 when they become available) at 16X speed along with 3 pcie gen4 nvmes at 4X speed? If i get it right, cpu will provide 20 lanes for the gpu and the first nvme and then the chipset will provide 8 pcie gen4 lanes at 4 speed for the other two nvmes? Thanks.

      I guess so…. Unless you don’t use it for like editing and extreme gaming… you can go for it but the b series motherboards don’t support cpu overclocking so getting the unlocked version of 13600k is useless I say you can go for a i5 13500 and put the extra Monet on your tomahawk

    • @saitama7518
      @saitama7518 Год назад +2

      I dont understand why many people say its useless not everybody wants to overclock and the i5-13600k performs still good because of the L2-cache what the i5-13500 doesnt have games or multitask or benchmarks benefit from the L2-cache

    • @Flakka-
      @Flakka- 6 месяцев назад

      It should be easy to find workaround,
      Use front-audio port instead (most PC cases have front minijacks input/output like mic/headset. these are connected to motherboard with a cable.)
      Or you can buy a small USB soundcard/DAC. They are all using USB and will improve your sound too. I recommend external DAC over internal PCI soundcards.
