    Very informative video. Got this board on Black Friday($119.99 US) and pairing it with the i7-12700K($211.00 US) and the ASUS microATX P201 case...I know the 760 won't overclock, but the K - CPU was massively cheaper than the non-K at the time. That...is a really good observation. Never actually noticed that the 13600 doesn't really exist in the retail channel until now that you've mentioned it. Did some searching and came across some Reddit threads on users commenting how hard it is to find the 13600 too...
      Pure speculation on my end, seeing as there's lots of talk out there on the 13600 being an Alder Lake chip in disguise (especially given the amount of L2 cache the P and E cores have), perhaps Intel didn't have the intention of producing that many of them, in that the 13600 is based off an older design? • @ALKtech
      @ALKtech  11 месяцев назад +3

      You don't need a discrete TPM per se - modern processors (such as Intel's 12th/13th/14th Gen processors to be used with this B760M-PLUS motherboard) already include a firmware variant of TPM onboard. The TPM header is only if you'd like to get a dedicated TPM device for very specific use cases - if you're an average user intending to use your PC for gaming and normal productivity workloads, you won't need to purchase a separate TPM module just to be able to install Windows 11. Hope this clarifies!

    I am going to build PC with Intel i5-13500 and would like to put a
    motherboard MSI Pro B760m-a because of the 2 DP and 2 HDMI ports /no one else offer this option/.
    My question is this MB has enough power delivery /VRM capability/ for i5-13500?
    And second - can be used with 2 HDMI 4k monitors and 1 DP 2k monitor simultaneously?
    If I understand correctly the other option is to put discrete VC in order to add additional HDMI port?

    • @ALKtech
      @ALKtech  Год назад

      The MSI board will work just fine with the 13500 in terms of power delivery/VRM, so no worries there.
      That said, do you already have the intention of getting a discrete graphics card? If yes, why not just connect the monitors directly to the graphics card's display output ports? Most modern graphics cards of today have three to four display output ports, and should be capable of running the three monitors that you mentioned...unless your intention is to just use the onboard graphics of the 13500? Also, are you a productivity user (e.g. video editor who uses a multi-monitor setup)?

I've personally never used a multiple monitor setup on integrated graphics before, so I can't say with certainty that the MSI board will deliver on what you're looking for. You might want to see if your local retailer is able to test a multi-monitor configuration using the MSI board before you make a purchase, for a peace of mind!

    I don't know if it is a defect with my board only, but the CPU socket spring was way too strong. I was worried I will break something simply trying to lock in the CPU. I am also getting thermal throttling at around at 4.8 GHz (instead of max 5.2) for 13700 with a 240mm AIO. I suspect it has something to do with with uneven pressure on the CPU. The VRAM heatsinks are also unnecessarily large that can interfere with CPU cooler installation.

      The processor retention mechanism can be a bit fiddly to operate at times - is it more force than usual compared to other LGA1700 sockets, assuming you've handled other LGA1700 motherboards before?
      That said, there's some articles and videos out there regarding how the LGA1700's ILM causes warping which in turn affects the processor's thermal performance. If you have the budget for it, getting a contact frame from Thermal Grizzly, Thermalright etc might help things along..

    Imho, one advantage of B760 boards over Z790 boards is:
    Realtek LAN > Intel 2.5G Lan (which still has network dropouts even to this day)

    • @ALKtech
