  • Need to capture a long exposure but you’ve forgotten your tripod? In this video I’m exploring the ways in which this can be made possible.
Join me at Wyming Brook in the UK’s Peak District, where I’ll be using the Nikon Z7 and 24-70mm F4 lens to capture handheld long exposure shots of the waterfalls.

Once again great video Robert, I will give that a try with my new Nikon Z6 when I am out and about. Excellent captures with brilliant final results, glad to see you had help from Otis. 🐕👌

Cheers John. The Z6 has the same great IBIS as the Z7 so should work great. Thanks for watching. 🙂

Interesting challenge, Robert. You got some great shots. I'm not sure what was the bigger challenge, taking the images or not getting Otis in the shot 😂😂

Haha, I know - he's a right photo bomber! I love seeing him enjoy himself though - he slept like a log that evening! Thanks for watching. 🙂

Thanks Paul. It has been closed, yeah - but the gates were open and the car park was full, so guessing it's open again now. I believe they have been cutting down trees due to disease, but all that machinery seems to be gone. Thanks for watching. 😊

Really great video. How are you compensating for the shake from pressing the shutter button?

I'm basically relying on the IBIS and a steady hand! I had to discard quite a few images that were blurry, but enough came out sharp to use. Thanks for watching. 🙂

I'd read somewhere before Christmas that Wyming Brook was closed off until Spring which was a shame as I'd planned to head there a month or so ago. I'm guessing this isn't the case?...Or do you know someone!!!? ;)

It has been closed, yeah. In fact, the signs are still up saying it's closed, but the machines are gone and the gates are open so I'm guessing it's open again now. There were plenty of other people there. It is pretty sketchy in places - bit of an obstacle course in some spots! Think it was closed to cut down diseased trees though, not because of the access problems.
