Unbelievably stoked that we finally have this area in Run 8. Just watching through the vid now, I can chime in about what "Benny" is referring to in the grade profile. It's referencing Bennington Curve (the site of a pretty bad passenger train derailment).

Sorry to post twice but Oh My God for an almost 2hr video lot explained took me sometime to watch and stop text then back to watching as I do why did they skip on the Altoona Shops and main Yard Office, no matter what game it is I always feel like these creators of routes give the 50/50 input on Northeast Coast routes as where if it was California or some other Major Route it's 100% then! Juniata Shops are a massive part of Altoona Not seeing a building as it was a massive kick in the stomach for me. That Round Table there at the Juniata shops was a 60ft Table but in 2017 it was replaced with an 82ft Table to allow 2 sd40-2s fit on it at once, plus the street is right up against the table along with 4 houses and 4 small businesses.
I'm really curious what year this is that was modeled after 32:48 that Bridge hasn't been a Steel Trestle type since the 70's which is 7th st and the 8th st bridge isn't even near the Track Curve like what!?! is up with that area I notice a lot of things that are out of place. Yeah all old school signals were all changed by Conrail back in 94 along with all the New Tunnel ports and Double stack high signal bridges.
40:12 Don't mean to step on your toes, but Hollidaysburg is east more that area is Duncansville which is known as Everett Railroad Company Tourist line, 424 2nd Ave, Duncansville, PA 16635. Lot of Old Alco's sit there to this day.
42:16 see right there that's what I'm talking about reusing a station from California line because the route builder or whoever makes assets is too lazy to make new ones for a Route that costs $40 come-on!!!!! feeling like DTG made this Now I really want to know what is New on this Route that Altoona doesn't even have. 51:26 WTF MG tower is made but Not Juniata Shops I'm lost for words.......
56:03 to the left of the Power line tower in the distance that Right hand Curve is the Famous Bennington Curve where the Red Arrow Wreck was.
1:21:45 Gautier Steel Ltd. is there now. JFW Johnston welding & fabrication steel makes Fire Department equipment

I want to have a route like this in Trainz either 19 or 22, I already have a Horseshoe Curve route set in the modern Conrail or NS era I downloaded and blank DEM to Harrisburg and a completed route to Harrisburg in 22 but set in the PRR era, but I could modernize it. I also want to merge either of the routes to a huge route of merged routes I'm working on toward Allentown and NJ with Reading and Northern lines to Jim Thorpe and I added DEM to the north to Pittston and beyond. I live just west of Allentown. I rode behind the 765 from New Haven, IN twice in PA, Lewistown to Horseshoe Curve May 25, 2013, and west of Bethlehem to Pittston and return Aug 22, 2015. That was during NS's 21st Century Steam program which ended after 2015 but NS allowed 611 to pull excursions for 2 more seasons in Virginia and NC.

My uncle has been working 3 years on the Great Lehigh Valley route from starting point in Clinton NJ that heads West into Easton PA and through Bethlehem Steel, Allentown all the way over to Enola Yard in Harrisburg PA on Trainz2019 so Your in Luck that a Route is being built as it's super detailed, It does Help we've walked every inch of the track in and around the LV giving my uncle a better understanding to the lay of the land. A lot of custom buildings have been made over the last 3 years for the route. Give it some time and you'll see it soon

@@user-yn8do4px8e I’d like to at least see pics of it sometime. That was one of my biggest wishes in Trainz, a route from NJ to Harrisburg, PA through Allentown which is NS now. I have my route that is incomplete, but I used an NS Reading Line by Josh Drumm along with blank DEM I made or downloaded. I also have Reading and Northern the one with compatible trees for TANE and 19 from the DLS merged with it.

Never played it as I’m on vacation in Singapore but from what I’ve heard the reception is leaning negative. Having Enola and Conway alone would improve the replay value by a significant margin IMO…surprised they couldn’t even get Altoona right given the images that exist

The (ain't no) scenery in this game is beyond imagination, but I've always enjoyed the far topography in Run8 and it looks good here aswell. Price is the price. I like a finite A-B type track environment. It is always all about "Barstow" in the end :) Thanks for preparing this presentation. I appreciate your honest opinions. The nice cameral non-SoCalish piece of track. Like it! BR

sure its a cool route and new region, but i wish there were new assets being used, and of course the length of the route should have been longer. it doesnt feel great since this route has supposedly been in development since approximately 2018. im assuming this thing went through the depths of development hell.

I've been to all these locations because I live in Ohio. I feel the frustration when huge glaring problems are present. I've driven through the tunnel at HS curve, they don't stick out that far. I am kind of getting tired of the same 5 famous routes over and over. Do a shortline. Pick something else! For God's sake lets mix it up! I'll still buy it. I live in SE Ohio where the Appalchians start. I'm a fool for Eastern roads. HS curve and Cresson is the first time I ever saw helper operations when my late Dad took me there as a kid During the first week after Conrail broke up. I'll never forget it.

Instead of focusing on entirely new regions of the US, they should focus on connecting existing regions such as NorCal and SoCal

  • @SeanMurrellRTS

I've been openly supportive yet critical when need be for years. It is the 1st NS region so that alone deserves a new region. Everyone who keeps talking about connecting regions etc. the only place is in CA and honestly I bet you it doesn't sell as much as people would believe. Anyways I bought it and I'm going to enjoy trying this in single player and see what my son and I can muster up.

From Johnstown. Gautier steel is the name of the old rolling mills by the Csx and cbl junction. That is Pepsi on the csx line. They get corn syrup and truck it up to the plant which is up by 219. Johnstown welding and fabrication is the old Cambria plant and that is all cbl, csx ends at the interchange by gautier. Way too much green downtown for me, train sim 2 did better.
