Oh, P Gatbomb and Run8, what a great match! I love this sim! I've spent and indefinitely amount of money that I'll never count, but it is the best train sim I've ever played. I've also bought a Raildriver that added a lot of immersion to my travels.
@@KerboOnYT And what is wrong with wanting both? You telling me that Train Simulator or Train Sim World can produce nice scenery, but can't do squat about train physics? You telling me that Run8 is good enough to produce outstanding train physics, but can't evolve much past the look of MSTS?
Thank you so much for this. I've been trying to find out more about Run 8 for months but the only videos I can find are multi-hour multiplayer gameplay sessions, nobody ever explains anything. All I've got from those is that it's an extremely in-depth train sim, online and multiplayer only, where you just have to know stuff. I couldn't even work out from the website what I would need to buy, so this was really welcome.
I am glad to see you covering Run8 and I hope to see some more from you. I am just getting into it myself and am hungry for knowledge. I've learned a lot from your flight sim videos over the years.
I have been involved in Run8 since v1 and have never had a transaction problem in all that time. They do warn you to backup ALL of your downloads, etc. and I regularly backup my installation. The odd time I have contacted them I did receive prompt and helpful information, etc. While I always have Run8, TSC and TSW installed, it seems that somehow Run8 while not as flashy as TSW just feels better and more satisfying as a train simulator.
This has great info from start to finish. It clears up a lot of things and it was fun to watch and learn a few things. I'm new to it, so this was a great start.
This is somewhat confusing. Can you enter the train and start it up.. or go to the cars and do the things you were doing but WITHOUT having that pop up where you just click "fix everything" lol?
That nonsense is what had held me back but I'll probably pull the trigger.. I really want a sandbox train game ..train sim world 3 seems very 'railroad' in game play. I've enjoyed derail valley but I want US stuff.. I really wish Northeast was modeled in Run8 (Philly through DC)
run8 is literally 10 years old now and is not a rail simulator. it is a railYARD simulator. slow mundane absolutely pedantic waste of your life. unless you like to shunt cars in a yard. thats all it is. the few routes for it are overpriced and lackluster at best.
V1 was released 10 years ago, V3 was released in 2022. It is so much more than a yard simulator. There is endless possibilities from dispatching to running locals. You just have to give it a chance.
@@johndonovan7018you probably need to stick with dovetail games like TSW because you probably couldn’t handle real train physics and to be able to take a heavy train off the mountain! Lol all I run on Run 8 is road trains so obviously your pretty oblivious to what’s going on

@@drewharman1690 There is no need to be elitist. How many times did you mess up while learning to run the simulator properly? Do you think you can now go to any railroad company and get hired as an engineer listing Run8 as your only experience?

So many people only care about graphics and miss out on everything Run 8 has to offer. Nice video!
A big bane of modern videogames are the people that request photorealistic graphics even for "excel sheet" games
Also seems to be the only rail sim with north american routes that aren't completely broken?
Some want both. I believe it can be done.
@@The_Fat_Controller. Great! Get back to us when your simulator releases with both

Next, ZUSI 3 ? I love, your rewiews, and turorials 👌
I was totally lost when I got this a while back. It’s the best railroad simulator out there.

I just bought this and am very thankful for this video. It is a confusing but awesome simulator so far.

There is audio control of the train in the Audio Dropdown Menu.

Hi my name is Bret Lee how do you play the Busy Barstow on run 8 train simulator V3
Im disappointed that Run 8 is hardware locked. I upgrade enough that this is a problem for me. The sim looks fantastic otherwise.
I don't really believe it is hardware locked in its current incarnation (V3)

The graphics are horrid! I can appreciate that the physics are great, but guess I am spoiled with modern graphics and wouldn't like it.

@@dsflyerds i see. i'll give it some research and see if it can take over some of the old trainsim (railworks) platform.

If you want an interesting grade on or nearby where what seems this track is laid out in, look up en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cajon_Pass#Rail_transport
Did you record the audio on a phone or are you on the opposite side of the room from the fucking mic?
You’re a jerk.
