    Man, I used to watch alot of your direct reactions in general, and it's really nice seeing you go from "This is cool, kinda on my radar" in Xenoblade specific reactions to extremely excited for this one.
    As for XC2 combat compared to 3, I feel the best way to put it is that it is so similar, yet so different. The combat UI pulls alot from 2, but they added in so many extra options, details, and other things that this blew alot of us away.

    XC2 battle system is very similar in terms of driver combos (break, topple, etc) but it’s VERY polished and improved upon in XC3. Plus with the access of two branches of the driver combos (Daze and Burst)/(Launch and Smash) in my opinion opens up a lot of the battle options. Also it can help with some of the spike effects throughout the game like any enemy that has a Daze spike effect, you can simply use the route of the combo. Which is really solid.

    6 characters seems like a lot, but it's a lot less when you remember that each of the three drivers could have 3 separate blades in 2. Yes, it's more health bars to manage, but it's actually about the same in terms of arts and abilities. I think this looks like a neat combination of every Xenoblade combat system yet, and it feels very intuitive for someone who's played most of the series (never went out and bought X). The customization of the classes and fusion arts will be my biggest pain lol.

    This direct showed just enough to get people more interested.

    Imo the battle system in XC2 is way better than 1. More engaging and satisfying but the tutorials aren’t the best and you only see them once lol. XC3 seems to have taken away an element I liked in 2 but added the class system that seems dope af. Super excited.
    I also prefer 2 overall and the music. 1 is amazing tho and some stuff was better but ya 2 is my fav. I’m sure you’ll love it and yes there’s a lot in 3 from 2 so definitely play it first.

      3's battle system looks far better than 2. 1's story and characters were far better and the battle system was still good which made it better than 2 (2 still had good combat but it doesn't carry the game). 2 was a letdown for me.
      3 seems to have the best combat and a really promising story and characters which makes be believe this will be the best Xenoblade game to date. It's exciting seeing a redemption of this franchise from my perspective
      The combat system in this game is going to be so good because of the class customization

      @@Zephhi that’s your opinion but most people I know, and most RUclipsrs I’ve seen, prefer by far 2 both in terms of story and combat. I agree wholeheartedly. Again I loved 1 but 2 is one of my all time fav games. After playing 2 the combat in 1 definitive felt so boring for me. 2 has some of the best combat in any series I’ve played. It was more emotional too. There were things I didn’t like tho and it had its quirks. No one beats Adam and his screams tho… the emotion he puts in them is insane.
      Only thing I didn’t like in this direct was seeing gems are back…. Hopefully they are better implemented this time from 1

    Xenoblade 3 is the combination of the worlds of Xenoblade 1 and 2.
    Xenoblade 1 is represented by Keves lead by Melia and Xenoblade 2 is represented by Agnus lead by a party member from that game(you will be able to tell who once you start playing that game)
    The combat of Xenoblade 3 is a combination of Xenoblade 1(break topple daze)and Xenoblade 2(break topple launch smash) with the Ouroboros being something new but working kind of like the blades in 2.
    The heroes are basically like the blades of 2, they are collectible characters that add more abilities to your party(although the heroes are actual party members while blades are support party members).

    Battle system took a lot from all game XC1, XC2 and XCX game.

    XC2's battle system is pretty much similar. But hey they improved it on 3. This looks much better!

    Is this like Final Fantasy where each game is different or do you need to understand the story from the first two to enjoy it? If the latter, I won't pick it up. I just don't have the time to play two massive games followed by a third.

      I believe that they're sequels, but I'm new to the franchise. I'm in the middle of going through the first one right now on Switch. If it means anything, I didn't see anything (characters, cameos, etc.) in the XC3 Direct that I've seen so far in XC1. I'm about 40 hours in, so I have a bit to go. -Rudy

      @ There's definitely connections to the previous games. I'm almost certain one of the masked faction leaders was one of the main characters from XC2

    •  2 года назад +1

      Oof. That's hype!

    • @Zephhi
      @Zephhi 2 года назад

      They're barely connected. You can play it without knowing anything and still enjoy it

    • @lanhikari4930
      @lanhikari4930 2 года назад +2

      It’s kinda complicated. Basically you can play either one without playing the other and be just fine, though while I do think just playing 3 would be ok too, the story of this game is supposedly about the worlds of 1 and 2 connecting in some sort of way. So you’d probably get a lot more out of it if you played the other 2 games

    -XC3's visual quality is rather lackluster
    -XC3 heavily relies on XC1 and XC2 similarities and references
    -No second US Special Edition preorder time frame given
    -Expansion Pass DLC made available for purchase way in advance for no good reason

      - XC3's visual are exactly as expected from the Switch
      - XC3 is a direct sequel to XC1 & 2 so no f'n sh*t
