Please give him my respect and admiration. I agree with his assessment of Vietnam and recent actions in the middle east. I am a former infantryman myself.

I must say, this gentleman’s interview is the first time I’ve seen a person of his generation say they did not remember what they were doing on Pearl Harbor day. Very interesting. He cannot be thanked enough for his service.

I am happy with the conviction. I'm so tired of this. I remember ENRON and the 2008 financial crisis and the Iraq war. I have suffered greatly because of people like this.

What you want to do as an interviewer is get the person to tell stories not a mere Q and A. This is not a good example of how to get someone talking with most irrelevant follow-up questions. This guy had a lot to say.

We can have our differences of opinion as to the format of an interview, the material that was shared, and the purpose of an oral history interview. Judging from the other comments, it would appear many would disagree with you. But this is not about me or you, but the Veteran.

@Dr. Barry Cohn: Bull--shite, this is one of the best interviews I’ve seen and I watch a bunch of them. BTW: I had a similar opinion about another inexperienced WWII Combat Veteran interviewer & was ready to blast a negative comment before realizing, anyone taking time to document these stories is priceless regardless of the interviewing skills. These stories need to be told!
