      @@MichaelKaal-TriFisher I fell and ripped my quadricep tendon last year so I had to sell my kayak. I’m curious what kayak are you using now?

      @@FishingwithD I'm currently using a 12 ft pedal kayak by Brooklyn Kayak Company. It's the 12 ft sit on top solo.

    great video and awesome fishing. Nice striper and a VERY nice brown trout. My PB brown trout is 24" at 7.2 lbs caught on the Clinch River just north of Knoxville. Congrads on your catch, it looked awesome in the kayak too!

    I tried your technique yesterday in that same general area and hooked a huge brown on the free line. A very subtle bite. Problem is he came off right at the boat after a lot of reeling. Thanks for sharing what you are doing especially for rookies like me!

      I was out there from 10:30 to 2 and got only two bites. Hooked that one at mile marker 7. I saw no bait up high or diving gulls. Is earlier in the morning usually better?

      Yeah, the earlier the better, if it’s overcast than all bets are off.

      Go to bakers Gove on the south end of Percy priest. Park at the end of the street and walk in. Long walk but great fishing. Me and friends fished there 20 years ago and killed em. Great spot

    Amazing job fishing man what part of Boone did you launch the kayak out of I was there Thursday and launch out of TVA by the dam and did good

      I’m not sure the name of the boat launch, but it’s near candy Creek one Cove over. It was very muddy last time I was there.

      I’m not sure, they’ve been doing it for years. Something about a fish up high makes them strike.

    Amazing fishing day for you, love the video. I am going to be in the are in mid February, what area of the lake should I be fishing. I want to try what you are doing. Where do you find the shiners.

      You can go by Brummitt bait and tackle in Hampton Tennessee or the Tacklebox in Kingsport for shiners. shoot for the middle of the lake.

      Both. I’m going over humps or around points. Sometimes the middle works as well.

    How are you getting in your kayak without getting wet? Would love to fish during this season but worry about getting wet and becoming victim to the elements.

      Hey Jacob, I wear my waiters and nonslip boots. There’s always a chance you can get a little wet, so I also bring a spar set of close in the car.

    Do Hybrid Bass or Normal bass not bite this type of setup?

      Hybrid will regularly hit the set up, but not largemouth or smallmouth. It happens once in a blue moon.

    I just bought a house on that lake in Piney Flats... I can't wait to get out there and start my retirement! We have Striper here in the Chesapeake, but the population and catch has gotten bad the last few years.

      Yeah, that’s a great place to catch a lot of striper in the spring and summer.
