I cannot like this video enough!!!! What an epic day!!! Nice to double up with two great fish. Congratulations on your new PB brown trout❤!!!! I caught my PB in November but am still searching for that 30” trout and my first striper!!!! Great video!!!
great video and awesome fishing. Nice striper and a VERY nice brown trout. My PB brown trout is 24" at 7.2 lbs caught on the Clinch River just north of Knoxville. Congrads on your catch, it looked awesome in the kayak too!
Awesome adapt and overcome there. Great fish! Thank you for cleaning up after others and helping give the rest of us a better name and experience. Inspiring.
I tried your technique yesterday in that same general area and hooked a huge brown on the free line. A very subtle bite. Problem is he came off right at the boat after a lot of reeling. Thanks for sharing what you are doing especially for rookies like me!
I was out there from 10:30 to 2 and got only two bites. Hooked that one at mile marker 7. I saw no bait up high or diving gulls. Is earlier in the morning usually better?
Awesome video brother! Definitely a fun day of fishing lol. I live in Murfreesboro so I fish Percy a lot but I definitely have to check out Boone lake. Awesome Trout!!!!
Go to bakers Gove on the south end of Percy priest. Park at the end of the street and walk in. Long walk but great fishing. Me and friends fished there 20 years ago and killed em. Great spot
Amazing fishing day for you, love the video. I am going to be in the are in mid February, what area of the lake should I be fishing. I want to try what you are doing. Where do you find the shiners.
How are you getting in your kayak without getting wet? Would love to fish during this season but worry about getting wet and becoming victim to the elements.
I just bought a house on that lake in Piney Flats... I can't wait to get out there and start my retirement! We have Striper here in the Chesapeake, but the population and catch has gotten bad the last few years.
You are killing it.
Thanks David
Proud of ya!!!!
Thanks
Excellent, thanks for letting us ride the kayak with you. 👍
Absolutely!
Definitely another amazing day. Congratulations. Epic battle. Appreciate you taking us along for that journey.
Absolutely, it was a blast filming and fishing.
Awesome video and another monster trout
Yes, I still can’t believe the size of that brown trout. It was an awesome day!
WOW… 2023 has been great for Big Fish content…
Congratulations on the PB Brown..
Thanks, that brown trout was spectacular and 2023 has started with a bang!
Amazing catch, nice work!
Thanks
Great video! The diagrams really helped explain techniques!
I’m glad you liked the video
Another great video Michael. Dang, those fish were awesome.
Thanks, they sure were.
Another awesome video those were both some monsters
Thanks, that was one awesome day.

Thanks, it was Definitely a fantastic fishing trip. I appreciate the kind words.
Great video!!! Loving the setup
It’s simple but effective
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher I fell and ripped my quadricep tendon last year so I had to sell my kayak. I’m curious what kayak are you using now?
@@FishingwithD I'm currently using a 12 ft pedal kayak by Brooklyn Kayak Company. It's the 12 ft sit on top solo.
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher good looking set up on your lake kayak. I also see why you have another one for rocky rivers.
@@billcarter2310 Yeah, this lake kayak is way to bulky for the river. But its amazing on the lakes.
Very good video. You're killing them! You've got your technique perfected
Thanks, it’s a blast catching them from the kayak.
Love when your kayak becomes an immense bobber and it gets turned around by a striper. Awesome trout!
Yeah, I went for a ride
Badass!
It was an awesome day for sure

That’s exciting, I’m glad you got a bite. Keep on trying, you will get one.

Yeah, the earlier the better, if it’s overcast than all bets are off.
Just caught a 28 inch trout.
@@stephengossett1627 YES!
Awesome fish congrats. I’m headed to watauga for my first trip today
Also we are using several of the techniques we learned on you videos. Planning to try live bait foshjng
Oh man, good luck today. I hope you absolutely crush it. Tight lines!
I'm not much of a fisherman, but that looks like a nice fish!
It was a good one!
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher sweet!

@@stripervince1 awesome
Awesome video and some nice fish! I have only been to that lake once. Going to try and make a few trips there.
Fantastic!
I wonder if a gar bit the free line in two
I was wondering that myself
Amazing job fishing man what part of Boone did you launch the kayak out of I was there Thursday and launch out of TVA by the dam and did good
I’m not sure the name of the boat launch, but it’s near candy Creek one Cove over. It was very muddy last time I was there.
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher ok thank you
It usually seems trout like to hit your free line. I'm not sure why?
I’m not sure, they’ve been doing it for years. Something about a fish up high makes them strike.
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher, so do you think the free line minnow is 1 foot, or 40foot deep?. Probably no telling what it is doing
@@sethrichghost6335 Yeah, Im guessing its 1-5 ft deep.
Hmmm, seems like a reference in the title, but nice fish!
Yeah, it was a great day on the water.
Amazing fishing day for you, love the video. I am going to be in the are in mid February, what area of the lake should I be fishing. I want to try what you are doing. Where do you find the shiners.
You can go by Brummitt bait and tackle in Hampton Tennessee or the Tacklebox in Kingsport for shiners. shoot for the middle of the lake.
Question, were you more in the middle of the lake or looking for points and structure to troll over?
Both. I’m going over humps or around points. Sometimes the middle works as well.
How are you getting in your kayak without getting wet? Would love to fish during this season but worry about getting wet and becoming victim to the elements.
Hey Jacob, I wear my waiters and nonslip boots. There’s always a chance you can get a little wet, so I also bring a spar set of close in the car.
Do Hybrid Bass or Normal bass not bite this type of setup?
Hybrid will regularly hit the set up, but not largemouth or smallmouth. It happens once in a blue moon.
Trying to plan a trip to Boone in the next few weeks, I am not from the area, what ramps are open with the water so low.
The TVA boat ramp would be a great place to launch near the damn.
I just bought a house on that lake in Piney Flats... I can't wait to get out there and start my retirement! We have Striper here in the Chesapeake, but the population and catch has gotten bad the last few years.
Yeah, that’s a great place to catch a lot of striper in the spring and summer.
