Fantastic! Congrats on the PB brown. My son was visiting, so I tried to taking him to land a big striper when you saw us coming in Friday. We hooked into 2 huge fish, but he lost both fights and couldn't land them. He still had fun experiencing the fights.
I’m moving from Illinois to Erwin TN next weekend. I would love to learn how to fish the area from you. I only usually fish salt water in Florida. Haven’t fished fresh water in 15yrs. Great video
I fish pretty much for trophy brown all year and the brown trout fishery around the tri cities is one of the best in the country, there are fish caught over 30” 10 plus pounds all the time if you know where to go, my pb is 16.3 lbs , Michael would love you take you on a adventure if you would be down man
The Nantahala and Davidson rivers there in NC are top rated too! 😊 The state record 24lb 10oz brown came from the Nantahala! I love both ends of NC. That’s where a lot of my ancestors were from. Love Hatteras for saltwater fishing and the mountains of the western portion for trout fishing! The tail waters of S. Holston have been rated in the top 10 trout streams in the USA as well as those rivers in NC! Tight lines!
@@jprizzle2604 I feel like such a big dummy. I used to work for duke and I had no idea that they owned and operated the hydroelectric dam there on Nantahala. But I worker on the natural gas portion after they bought out the company I worked for and later they split the gas portion and changed the name to spectra energy. I think the nuclear reactors stayed with the electric side. But anyway I’ve been all through there and never heard of any salmon in there! I will definitely have to check that out! I always loved NC and used to go over there to Boone, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain area every chance I got. We used to hang glide off the mountain but they stopped that. But I will definitely check that out! Thank you for letting me know about those salmon!

Well done Michael . A great fish!
Thanks Larry
Great stuff. Congrats on the PB. Was thast last one a spot? He was marked up funny.
Definitely look like a spotted bass to me. But I’m not 100% sure. Part of me thinks it could be one of those Florida strain F ones they stocked.
That was a a awesome long fight!! You gotta get a front view camera so we can see the full frame angle of these crazy catches!
Not a bad idea.
Get it son!!
It was epic!
Mike what type of pedal kayak do you have ??????
Fantastic! Congrats on the PB brown.

Boone filling up fast
Yes it is. Bitter sweet
Hey Mike. As a WNC resident...just exactly how good is the brown fishery???
In my opinion, it’s a Hidden gem on Boone lake. The brown trout bite is good from January through March.
