I just put the 25cal tapered version on my Crosman 2240XL pistol, and it made a huge diff in DB levels especially shooting indoors. I went with the 25cal to avoid any "clipping". Accuracy was not affected. Buck-Rail service was great, and the price is much less than other manufacturers.
I have a Buck-Rail on my 25 cal umarex gauntlet. Terry recommended the 30 cal version to stop any pellet clipping. I ordered on a Monday and had it on Thursday! I ordered Airgun Capitols moderator on March 2nd and it still hasn't shipped and it's the 11th of March. I've emailed them about my order 3 times and I still haven't gotten a response. Buck-Rails is $40.00 in 30 cal and you get in a few days. Airgun Capitols is $27.00 in 25 cal and you may never get it. I have a Donny FL Tatsu and it works great but it was $129.00. I'm buying the Buck-Rail from now on.
I could definately hear the diffence but a little surprised it was only 1 db . Not sure if thats worth it , jmho ..... . Dont get me wrong , i love his products .
I find myself adding I reducing bushing to the end of some moderators getting a smaller exit hole but not small enough for pellet clipping. This will make them so much quieter. The pellet hitting the target is louder than the shot.
No. I have used parts of ink pens when I first started playing around with trying to make the guns as quiet as possible but now make them on a mini lathe. I still have 2 guns that have bushings made from ink pen parts, they work great so no need to mess with them.
I have a Hill, a couple DonnyFL’s, stock moderator on an SK19 I added a bushing too, stock FX off an M3 I added a bushing too. The reason I mentioned it was the last couple you reviewed looked to have a large opening at the end. Even guns that are shrouded line my nova liberty I was able to quiet down some by adding a bushing and without a moderator. It’s all about slowing the air that exits behind the pellet
I have a 1/2-20 Buckrail Moderator on my Gen 2 Dar .25. It works great! I also have a Buckrail Moderator on my Benjamin Bulldog .357. It works great too! You have to temper your expectations some with the Buckrail Moderators. Don't expect it to be in the same league as a Donny FL or a Zero DB. The Buckrails are about 1/3 the price of those. For what you pay, I think you get a great product. I would buy from them again.
Thanks brother for the look at the LDC. When you do the testing I hope you have a stand or tripod you can use and have the festival meter the same exact distance in front of the rifle and off to the side. Giving us accurate comparison. Maybe 10 ft forward and 5 ft to one side is a good spot? What do you think?
I'm guessing you weren't shooting pellets , just air .One db drop is nothing . A moderator only works when there is back pressure. My B/R moderator drops about 10+db.

You need to have the dB reader in front the sound waves strongest waves travel forward.
