Thank you!
Using an RPG round as a pointer during your 'black board' teaching was just the chef's kiss on top of an amazing video.
😂 bro its so good
I think the nlaw is more of a shoulder launched missile
with that cap on, it seems its a live round too.
@@bensmith7536Exactly 😂
I really hope the manufacturer watches this video and takes what you've said into account!
Raytheon and Lockheed Martin are watching 😂
I can assure you the weapon manufacturers are getting daily updates on performance of their weapons
@@REVOLVER_NOIR; Neither are producing NLAW, you are thinking of Javelin.
Western defense manufacturers move slower than a snails pace as we've seen, don't get your hopes up.
@@IFarmBugs They have the tooling and production methods already set. They make exuberant amounts of money in profit per launcher already ( because they have a monopoly on arms pretty much ). It's assumed, since it's in service, that it's performance is satisfactory, per army requirements set in the trials.
They won't improve the design, just because it can perform a little better. In fact, from the corporate standpoint - it's more profitable for them, if the launcher performs just barely well enough so that they get a contract, but not too well. It being less effective, or malfunctioning, increases their profits. Since the army has to buy more/more spare parts.
You never disappoint Valgear, thank you for this video and using a PG7 as a pointer. That had me laughing way more than i should have.
OTA technically stands for Overfly Top Attack. As flies over the target and the shape charge pointing down fires in the target, as opposed to the javelin which flies up, and then flies down directly into the tank, and has a forward facing shape charge warhead.
And DA stands for Direct Attack.
Very well explained and shows why training is so important. Hopefully the manufacturer is getting feedback and is able to modify new NLAWs to take the lessons into account.
why do you think the russians but also chinese use so crude gear? They focus their strengh on numbers and massive troops. the neither have the money nor the nerves to train every caveman from some corner of their large countries. and if you have no time to train an emergency army in wartime, you cant blame the manufacturer. so give the ukrainians panzerfaust 3, more RPG, carl gustavs etc. I have the feeling that all the javelins and nlaws were delivered just to test em in real combat.

Ok then 😂
Good stuff as usual. One small English note, “tracking” would be the more appropriate term than “leading.” Tracking means keeping the chevron on target, leading would mean putting the chevron ahead of the target.
Edit for clarity and knuckleheads like @user-mc6lv7mu9p. You don't need to lead with the NLAW, the computer does all the calculations for you. You just have to track your target for a few seconds while the computer makes said calculations.
Edit 2: @user-mc6lv7mu9p is doubling down on their ignorance. Folks, don't make wild speculations on topics you know nothing about.
Don't think so, leading your target in is correct english, as the military might use it (I suspect it comes directly from his instructor) - tracking is also fine but it's probably a gamer thing.
The computer onboard the NLAW does all the leading for you, that is one of it's major selling points. You the user don't have to do any leading at all. Hence why I thought is was a translation issue.@@user-mc6lv7mu9p
@@user-mc6lv7mu9pnah, leading implies you are moving with the target and the reticle is ahead of the target to compensate for time of flight to target. tracking would be the more appropriate term because tracking implies you are moving with the target but the reticle is on the target, not ahead.
@@user-mc6lv7mu9p i was taught that "leading" specifically meant kentucky windage and that "tracking" just meant following the target.
@@Gunbudder tracking is does mean following the target, leading became very important when machine guns began to be fitted to ww1 aircraft, leading i guess means tracking with the added prediction of the flight of your round, or missile in this case. Tracking would be passive, leading is hopefully going to ruin a Russians day.
god damn this guy knows how to explain all the steps in short, concise way. btw. thanks for teaching the mine arm/disarm :D
its amazing how this missile just uses an inertial guidens system to track the tiny movent of the gunners tracking the target to generate a parabolic flight path that would hit a target moving at the recorded rotational translation regardless of range.
Much awaited, much appreciated excellent insights as always from you.
Thank you for all of your hard work.
Superb breakdown of the nlaw warts and all. Good job.
Excellent update. Really liked the first video too.
Using that Grenade as a pointer 😂😂 you're my kind of person 👌
So adorable that you use a PG-7 for a pointing stick!
Thank you again for the in depth information!
Stay safe!
ps. your pointer is very stylish :D
"I have Russian tank with mangal, it mean this cage, cope cage you call it in America, for like protect against Javelin. I would ignore the construction..." 😂You have a way of coming up with the funniest, most expressive phrases.
Some minor details, you don't get 3-4 tries to aim, the battery can handle at least 20. I would strongly recommend that at ANY armored vehicle you use OTA. If you use DA you only get the detonation effect of the warhead, no shaped charge effect at all, it will all go into the ground. Other than that, great video, and I must say, the part about how lack of training equipment in the beginning is extremely important! Could you maybe make a video where you especially focus on lack of training equipment? I'm thinking both simulators for NLAW and training weapons (9mm and 20mm) for AT-4 and CG? I can't stress enough how much that might help...
I made a custom battery for nlaw
Very good video and factual info. Thanks!!
Fantastic tutorial! Outstanding.
Thank you Valgear,
i hope I never have to use the knowledge I gained from your video..
Glory to the heros!
Great video as usual 👍
Much love Valgear stay safe!
Glad you're still alive and well pal.
love this weapon, nice video
From Canada .. love your sweater !
Damn good videos. Hope you guys get more support!
"Dear mom, today on RUclips I learned how to setup and correctly aim an NLAW". Timmy, based 10yro
I would have to say in this video can train many people without a doubt. Very good job 👍
I learned something about the nlaw thank you
In hunting language, in english, "leading" means to aim ahead to where you expect the target to be when the proyectiles reach it. Leading is what you do when you shoot with a shotgun at ducks or grouse because the shot takes time to reach the bird. I guess what you mean to say is to "track" the aimpoint as it moves, that is, put the chevron on the aimpoint and keep it there if the target moves while the system is doing the calculations with the lever depressed.
I have no clue why this video was recommended to me, but here I am. Love your blackboard pointer lol.
I love the Bulgarian PG7V board pointer. Val and RPG's are like bacon and eggs. They belong together.
Your English is excellent. Using the rpg round as a pointer..bravo
cool pointing stick 🤩
Great lesson, and I'm glad you were able to bring some confidence back regarding the use of the NLAW. Can't even begin to imagine how many different weapon systems are in Ukraine & trying to learn the ins & outs of each of them can be challenging, much less doing so in the middle of a war. As always, with all my respect and support from the US. Slava Ukraine !!!
"to be sure it is seated properly, you just tap it" hammers fist down onto the battery
using rpg round as pointer, not gonna lie, you have a style
Always top notch content! Stay safe out there, good hunting!
Godspeed, friend
So basically for DA you just line up the 2 ‘V’s ? One from the sight, and the other painted on the vehicle?
Awesome video.... Please make a video about Matador RGW90 and Spike SR missile too...
NLAW a Swedish beauty! 🇸🇪
Hope you like the NLAW´s, Love from sweden
Nice review bro respect from georgia jigit 🇬🇪🇺🇦
Iam watching so I can teach when WW3 hits ,
Great video
It would be nice to obtain some dead batteries, figure out the voltage and use something like 2 way radio batteries hooked to the battery pack like having a belt mounted battery pack with an umbilical to the shell of the original battery.
Nice teacher stich dude
One isue that can hapend with NLAV,RPG and other antitank missile is when you unpackd that staff frome transportation plastic rocket fuel and "gun powder" sock humidi from air and after fly on zig-zag tragectory.(Add to that wet trances, rain ect.)
So open only that staff 20 min before use.
No talking around it, just facts.
Richtig gutes Video.
i've been waiting a long time for a new video, stay safe! from Romania
NLAW gives a remarkable range for a LAW sized system and can penetrate the heaviest armor with top attack, but boy is this so damn complicated lol.
When you ditch the launchers, do you guys take the ACOG off so you can use it on something else? I feel like they'd be useful for other things, and they're generally pretty expensive and well made sights. Also, super great video! It's kind of hard to get good detailed explanations on how newer military tech like that works, so these kinds of videos are super interesting. Keep up the good work, both on the field and this channel!
I assure you the doge sticker is absolutely necessary to the operation of the weapon and gives a plus ten critical bonus against armour.
I still love the Carl Gustaf & Saint Javelin😶🌫️🤘 Anyway what a FANTASTIC & OUTSTANDING VIDEO!!!!!
Fingers crossed for a Starstreak or Martlet video. 🤞🤞
i now know how to use a NLAW and i dont know what to do with this information
15:07 when use RPG rocket as the pointer you know how good the video is.
king val ❤
Always good to get a new video from you, Fella 😊 It shows you're safe. Take care & be well - Слава Україні
I'm ready bro...
What a nice sticker
Like i every time said good training it more then good army stuff. Like in one video one t72 with good crew csn beat two leopards if they get fast shor training...
Now I wonder if Saab and Thales are taking notes
🔥
I *believe* you don't mean to "lead" the target, but to just follow it and keep the chevron right on the target. Because "leading the target" means that you aim at a point in front of the moving target to compensate for the flight time.
Track target
Loving the blackboard! We want more blackboard! 😂 Stage safe brother 🇬🇧🇺🇦
Really enjoy your content. Are the launchers reusable? Why not take that ACOG and put it on a rifle? I know it’s not BDC for kinetic rounds, but that scope must be worth at least $1,000.
Thanks! Stay safe.
These things are are built just down the road from me
NICE!
It would suck living so close to your nlaws....
@@nulblank4915 lol I just got it
To one dad to another I presume 😂 what a joke
I haven't seen this thing for a year and just now even remembered it still exists are there still many at all?
They aren’t that great because the engagement ranges and bulk/weight make them extremely difficult to close with the enemy. As he mentioned in the video they have multiple significant points of failure, and only a few minutes of battery life. There’s some obvious issues with the fact that the missile cannot account for changes in elevation or direction of the target. At 200m/s maximum velocity and 40m/s at the point of launch, the actual maximum time to impact is going to be up to six seconds, and the reality is that a T90M has third generation thermals that can detect man sized targets well past two kilometres. It just makes it a very rare case for the weapon to even be deployed. It’s just too large and heavy for the trench fighting that goes on now.
🦅
I wonder if they can make a charger for the batteries? so if you need to use them and arm them multiple times and be ready but you don't shoot and have to disarm does the battery drain that quick reason why I'm asking is there a charging method for the battery if it does go dead or do they just replace the batteries I know it would probably be impossible to get another one on the front line that's why I'm asking
Do you guys take off the acogs after firing the NLAW and mount it on rifles?
I have seen people make mounts to reuse the acogs on other stuff
he mentioned in a past video they made mounts that would allow them to take the ACOGs off and mount to regular pick-a-tincan rail.
I was thinking the same thing.
Yeah I kept a few of these, there not the same as the Acog that goes on the Rifle but still pretty cool.
Dude admit it, sometimes you meme in your own videos. You can't use an RPG warhead as a stick to point things on a blackboard xD. Btw very good video
I’m happy you are getting baller weapons but wtf i want one
Would it be possible for you guys to do one for the Panzerfaust 3 aswell?
🤟Peremoha (victory)
!
@3:57 that sightrail is for nightsights, no need to install it if you are using helmet mounted NV
🙌💪🤙
Thank you for the lesson, where can i place my order?
When you say upper edge of the tank, do you mean the top edge of the hull or the turret?
Can you reuse the acog on a rifle after you use the rocket?
When you say “lead it” do you mean hold chevron on target or where the target will be in 3-5 seconds?
Have you ever disassembled a battery pack? Any chance these could be refurbished with a bunch of 18650 LiPo cells?
Is there a way to recharge the battery?
Or make one from a cheap power drill battery!?🤔🤷🏼♂️
💙💛😎🤘
I just want to see video of Valgear playing with a Carl Gustaf on a range with armored vehicles/bunkers/squad size formation man targets/Lada/etc. demonstrating the vast array of different types of munitions then quietly sharing his opinion of each loading! 🤣 (Anybody here have keys to the SAAB testing facility? Valgear deserves that equivalent of a spa treatment 😆) Or better yet can we just send them in larger quantities along with some REAL military aid for making good Russians out of the invaders? We (the USA) spent $300 million a day for 20 years in Afghanistan alone during the GWOT, not including Iraq then Africa... Now people who were seemingly fine with that are complaining that sending 1990's ATACMS and leftover 1950s designed rocket pods being rigged to SU-25s and M2 brownings with Korean War/Vietnam War production dates is somehow a blank check to Ukraine, bleeding our inventory dry 🤦♂️ Yes of all the old shit we were going to pay to de-mil like M113s and Maxxpros for example... I guess it shows the power modern social media and internet can have over otherwise normal, average people who always brag about freedom and democracy yet fighting a Russian invasion isn't a smart investment, but no problem spending 10000X more chasing a few thousand guys around the middle east... 🤨 CCP and Russian misinformation sowing, along with political/popular influencer assets are very effective in the USA and Western countries in general, and a real problem... WW3 has been being fought with 1's and 0's via the internet for over a decade now, most just haven't realized it. Some never will until it's too late. Stay safe Valgear 👍
300 mil. per day is much. Ukraine minister of finance say that 1 day of war cost Ukraine 5 billion of hryvnias which is like about 130 million$
I come back in march if you need any help, always looking for work 💪🏻
Where can I get one of those pointers you were using towards the end?
Where did you get that hoodie from val ?
But how do you know how long to hold lock lever down? What if I don't have 3-5 seconds in my situation, what if I have only 2 or even 1 second? Would not missile fire? Would it fire but be less accurate?
Valgear💪🤙!! SLAVA UKRAJINI 🇭🇷✌️🇺🇦➕➕➕➕
Have you guys been issued Carl Gustavs 84s?
when you say lead it at 17:53 do you mean keep the chevron directly on top of the tank where you want to hit or actually lead the target by moving the chevron where the tank will be in the next few seconds.
I think he means to keep the chevron directly on the vehicle , to track the target
Surprised HysteraTube hasnt taken this down due to content.
Is it possible to recharge batteries somehow in order to use them again?
Can you reuse the ACOG after firing?
Can the ACOG be used for a rifle after the NLAW is fired?
maybe a protective hard plastic kind of "cup" can be improvised and duct taped over the controls that usually brake....then when its time to fire, you just pull the duct tape holding said improvised cup around and off in one movement, like ripping open a christmas present or a brazilian vaginal wax.
haha
very nice video.
love from south america.
Slava Ukraine!
I call my friends at SAAB new version coming in a day or two
Aren't there any of those disabled rocket launchers? I am interested in buying, I have already seen that the British sell them but they are sold out :(
I remember NLAW was the worst rocket launcher in BATTLEFIELD 4 😂
Whoops
