- On June 2nd, 2022, Normal police officers respond to a report about a DUI. Colton Boyd and Kelsi Rich were both kicked out of a bar for being too intoxicated. After a brief struggle, Colton and Kelsi were placed under arrest.
Colton was charged with aggravated DUI (his third DUI offense in 2022), possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.
He was found guilty of aggravated DUI and sentenced to a 30 month probation and 170 days in jail.
Kelsi was charged with aggravated battery, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
She was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and sentenced to a 24 month probation and 30 hours of community service.

Arguing with drunks is the ultimate exercise in futility.
That does not happen in the military. MP tells you to do something you better do it real quick or things end bad. The base CO during an Article 15/ NJP/ Captains mast or if it gets to the level of a court martial JAG officers also do not tend to make or accept plea deals when it comes to things like this especially if a person is a repeat offender.

@Southern Slipping yeah I’m 175 and built pretty good, I’ve held my own against some but lost some too admittedly. Don’t think this drunk weirdo would hold out against those cops though. They deal with bs every day. Most of them train in something or other. The fat one could probably throw his weight around. 160 vs 200 is a lot closer than 120 vs 200 and that big one looks way more than 200. Best thing to do is avoid altercations with police 🤣 especially physical.

I watch these because I find human behavior fascinating. She regressed to childlike behavior, he took on a "nobody is going to tell me what to do" big-man attitude. They both say over and over "I didn't do anything" while actively doing things.

this is sad as hell. From being an alcoholic almost two years sober, I know exactly where he is and the worst part is their misplaced codependence for one another. If they were sober and in a good place they would have some solid love to help support each other. Blessings to them.

Getting past your addiction and seeing others who are still neck deep in it is a pretty strange thing.
Part of me sits there and thinks what is wrong with these people? How are they happy? How do they not want this to change? How are they even enjoying this anymore? Don’t they care how they look?
Then part of me knows the answer is, it doesn’t matter. When your in addiction, your brain doesn’t allow you to give much attention to anything else. Not in a real way. It’s like, the addict in you doesn’t want you to have that moment of clarity, so it does whatever it has to do to keep you from not answering those questions honestly.
It is a miserable way to live. No matter how flippant these people seem, or arrogant, or indifferent, and so on, they are truly as unhappy as you can get. The substance of their choice is the ONLY thing that makes them feel anything good, and it’s never a good enough feeling to not keep trying for more and more.

The level of tolerance & kindness the officers showed to these drunks is phenominal.
I mean they handled how you want police to act in this situation. It's great you love to see actual fair policing but I think this is what we should expect from them.
Would have loved to see these 2 try that with any Military police agency especially a Marine MP. He would not have been seated back down as gently as he was in this after refusing to stay seated can guarantee that. Would have been face planted twice within 5 minutes.

It makes me so angry that these people are clearly guilty and the DA has all the evidence needed to convict on all charges but they make plea deals and drop the majority of charges. Three DUI's in one year and he gets less than 6 months in jail. Our judicial system is broken.

My late husband used to get very aggressive when he drank whiskey, never with me but he would pick a fight with any male including his best friend. I told him that he had to stop drinking whiskey or he would be in trouble with the police one day and he did stop, he never touched whiskey again.
These people are unbelievable. They never stop saying I didn’t do anything. How ridiculous. They literally could have killed people by being behind the wheel in their condition.

I was hit by a repeat offender drunk driver while my mom was in hospice. It caused me to miss her last moment on Earth. Then my daughter got hit by a drunk driver while she was just learning to drive. My son got hit by a drunk driver most recently. WAKE UP JUDGES! I’ve watched so many of these DUI arrests and these people are clearly black out drunks. They don’t know what’s happening. Drives me crazy watching cops try to talk to them like they’re sober. If someone repeats themselves or repeatedly asks the same questions that’s a clear sign that they are blacked out. Just arrest them and save yourselves the hassle.

God, these people have some of the biggest victim complexes I’ve ever seen. Drunk driving is such a nasty crime, I’ve lost a couple of people in my life to people like this on the road thinking they “feel fine”. Then they get caught and say “I didn’t do anything” ugh.
A girl I went to high school with was killed by a drunk driver. Her and her husband were both killed. They had a 3 year old daughter at home. Her grandmother had to explain to a 3 year old that her mommy and daddy weren't going to be coming home again. The girl is in her 30's now. She had to grow up without a mother, father or any siblings. And the lady who smashed into them only got 2 years in jail. It's just absolutely devastating what drunk drivers do.
Ive seen so many drunk videos and i agree that their brains are so damaged they don't know they're wrong and the law is lenient on the criminals while the families have to suffer.

I love body cams. They never lie. I also love it when the woman officer seen that the body cam had fallen off her partner and she placed it on the car pointing at the scene. Great work.
