Big shout to Rasheed Wallace. You stood as man while many others punked out!
No. He stood as an uneducated dumbass who didn't understand business, and acted like he deserved to know the operations of a CEO. Sheed is a millionaire so he can afford to act like that. But people like you who applaud insubordination and disrespect is part of what keeps black people from getting ahead.
People like Rasheed are a business owners/manager's worst nightmare.

Make no mistake about it, Rasheed Wallace punked out when it came to taking a stand to back Craig Hodges and Mahmoud Abdul Raouf. Now that it's safe to talk all big, bad and brave he'll do so but, when it was time to ACT big, bad and brave, he punked out just like the rest of them.

A serious problem
It’s weird how the Stern narrative changed once he passed. Most people thought of him as a snake.
Because they was scared of him dude… Stern was his last name he knew every player’s darkest secrets and had all of them in his back pocket. Whenever you see stuff like Allen Iverson ending up in Memphis and then Detroit or good players being forced out of the league just know he’s behind it… he had enough power to get players drafted to their home city so you can only imagine the stuff he makes happen if you got on his bad side
@@theblackpic1111 People general talk well of him now. He was known as a snake while he was still in the position. Yes, a lot of that was brought to light with how he treated AI.
It's funny you soft little flowers think say "most people" though of him as a snake. If "most people" thought of him as a snake then why was he never voted out of his job by the owners? What do you think he's going to do? Go to jail and ruin his career over some tough words? 😂😂 The league was in a better place when Stern was commish.
I truly believe that Stern forced Rod Thorn out of the NBA office. Remember when Thorn was head of operations for the league? Thorn was the one who handed down the suspensions. His name started to get more known, and possibly more powerful, than Stern (although Thorn already had a resume, in Chicago, drafting Jordan). All Thorn did was return to a franchise front office, building a Nets squad that reached two Finals.
Rod Thorn was the truth really
I disagree. Thorn wanted to run a team.
Stern had complete trust of NBA owners! He didn’t have to fear anyone taking his spot…even before Stern became commissioner, he was a force in transforming NBA from a money losing league to profitable!
I don't know if it's a conspiracy. Thorn was just good at a lot of things with basketball. Damn good player too
You said a whole lot and said nothing. Yes he drafted Jordan here and all that - what that got to do with Stern kicking him out the league??? People just pile on, they see Rasheed kicking him then fall in line; the NBA would not be anywhere where it is now if it wasn't for David Stern and his leadership!
David Stern was the NBA lawyer who tried to blackball Soencer Haywood when he took his hardship case to the Supreme Court.
Haywood, a Detroit native, was blackballed for years trying to get into the Basketball Hall of Fame .
I find it ironic how Stern had it in for the basketball team in Haywood's hometown, the Detroit Pistons.
I also find it ironic how Haywood was passed over for a spot on the 50 Greatest Players when his basketball career was more accomplished than Pistol Pete's.

They way Stern snaked the Sonics from Seattle was devious. But since the Ewing draft lottery debacle caught on camera he tried to move his sneakiness behind closed doors.
David Stern manipulated the NBA and outcomes just like Nascar and the WWE does. It still goes on now, just not as obvious. But trust me the NBA makes their money on them TV deals for game 6 and 7. Watch the finals and playoffs and watch cames just magically always ended up going 6 or 7.

You mean trying to keep New/Money roustabouts in line so the League thrived and everybody got paid? NBA was a shell when Stern tookover... If you don't like Stern that is fine.. But the results were the Magic, Bird, Jordan Eras and the NBA took off like a rocket ship. Alot of players can't do 2 simple things 1. Get paid 2. Stay out of trouble
I went to the 2010 NBA All Star game and took a mini plush basketball and sharpie with me in case I ran into any players. David Stern walks past me and nobody else notices him but me. Even though there's a lot of people walking around, there's no crowd around him at all. I hold out my basketball and sharpie and say "Mr. Stern, would you mind if I got an autograph?" He holds his hand out as if to say "no thanks", which I found quite strange. Not wanting to be denied (knowing I'll probably never see him again), I run up ahead of him about 2 sections to where our paths will cross again. Since I"m weaving in and out of the crowd, he doesn't see me running up ahead of him. So, as our paths cross the second time, I hold out the basketball and say, "Mr. Stern, please, if you wouldn't mind, I'd love an autograph". He looks at me like he's completely put out and literally scribbles a line as he's walking without even attempting to sign it (imagine someone literally taking a blink of an eye to scribble nothing). It just blew my mind because it's literally the biggest fan event of the year for the NBA, which he was the commissioner of, and that's how he treated a fan that night. All he had to do was take an extra 3 seconds and it would've made it a great moment. But quite the opposite. He walked off leaving me to think he must be an absolute jerk if that's how he treats a young fan at All Star weekend. Years later someone I know had an encounter with him and said he was an absolute jerk to him as well. It's sad that's the legacy he wanted to leave as a person.

I think sometimes we think we know everything, and yet we don't know enough. When you trying to go somewhere you've never been, and someone whose been there tells you how to BE there, we take offense. An owner of something will always profit more than the employee. If you don't like it, go somewhere else and be an owner or an employee. But if you are there and remain there, figure out how you can coexist or change it diplomatically when it's not yours to orchestrate. Stern wasn't an owner, but he certainly was a conductor.
David Stern was Exactly who I thought he was!
he was HIM.
Still better than Adam Silver!
The nba has changed to bring in more casual "fans" instead of fans who actually understand the game on a deeper level. We got people saying that lebron is the goat, but also cannot tell you who Paul George is. We have people telling you certain players are better based off of numbers or highlights they see the next morning, instead of actually watching and dissecting how specific players play (if you're too busy watch the games, you cant say your opinions are right based off of numbers). And worst of all, we have players hyping themselves up on social media because all of the casual nba fans are constantly on the internet, and therefore it nm is easier to have a social media presence than it is to actually prove yourself by pracricing extra hard and performing on the court (for millions and millions of dollars that the average jo will never see in their lifetime). Adam Silver has changed the NBA and ling time viewers see and notice everything because they see how much its changed from decade to decade
Yeah as soon as someone states that Lebron James is the GOAT I immediately know I shouldn't take them seriously. There is so many flaws in his game to ever be considered the GOAT. I can see that their goal was to bring in casual fans across the entire world over the diehard fans that enjoy back and forth basketball that results in a lower scoring game.
@@KebbieG well it's more than just lebron James being an alleged goat. But yes, Adam Silver has change the NBA to draw in the untrained eye because it's a lot more flashy to watch an alley-oop dunk or a crazy 3-point shot, because that isn't fundamental basketball that's just appealing to anybody. The Nba has always been open about how the NFL has more fans than them, so what better way to draw in fan then draw in Casuals who don't actually understand the game but are entertained by the crazy jumping and shooting. And as a result of that, a lot of the fans are now casuals who think they are right based off of a handful of things they just saw online while they're sitting on the toilet, instead of actually forming their own logical opinions based on legitimate basketball knowledge
@@KebbieGSo who is your "GOAT"

There are plenty of former players--Isaiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, etc.--who had positive experiences with Stearn, because knew how to 'play the game OFF THE COURT'. Sheed wouldn't play those games, and that's probably why he's speaking ill of the man today.
Stern had as big an impact as all the players you named as he was instrumental in these players getting the exposure they did, they were household names around the world. because of Stern and his team. Magic, Bird nor Jordan was at the table negotiating for TV contracts and rights. The Dream Team, which was instrumental in the game going global and being what it is today was largely do to Stern. Players play, they have nothing to do with the business of basketball. In today's game they have some input bu this business is driven by the owners who look upon the commissioner to carry out the business of making the business profitable. From that standpoint players are secondary, they come and go. Owners remain. Magic, Bird and Jordan are long gone but the league keeps rolling because of the owners. I dont agree with Sheed questioning David Stern's salary. Being the head of the league requires a lot more than just ordinary brain power. David Stern was getting paid for his brains, experience and expertise. I mean there's no point comparing that to Shaq's physical attributes lol
But it just goes to show that in this world we live in, being educated and smart is still more valuable to society.
And lets not forget David Stern was a powerful lawyer who practiced in New York. I mean those guys over there are the most arrogant mfs lol
So i mean he knew he was powerful and that was the culture he lived in..
You’re applying traditional capitalism thought to the NBA. Pro athletics are different. Stern is MUCH more easy to replace than Shaq. Shaq is the reason people watch-not Stern. Stern is no exceptional talent-just a guy. NBA is carried by the marketability of its star players. This is not Amazon or low skilled labor.
Stern just applied an arbitrary number to himself-because he could. Not because that’s what he was worth.
Is that bonzie wells ahh man this brings back memories
I don't think it's wrong for owners and higher ups to make more money than the players. Is there a commissioner in any professional sport that doesn't make more than the players?
i thought this was a key and peele skit at first
Well commissioners are fall guys for the owners, that's why they get paid so much.
Sheed I hear you but he was the commissioner which meant he was in control lol.
Now the players are running the yard and are abusing the system, load management and weak practices and not honoring their contracts, we need a david stern.
Hell No!!!!!
Thank god! This is what we need! Random young white influencers paying athletes to interview them about stuff that happened before the RUclipsr was even born. 😒
David Stern was trash! 🤨 He was lucky that Magic, Larry, Jordan and Isiah came along and saved the League! It wasn't stern!
Stern came in the same year as Jordan also before he got there the nba was full of drug addicts now did he make the league more corporate yes but it probably was for the better
Stern saved the NBA. Easy!!!
@@bootlegsports1146No he didn’t. That’s your stupid opinion. The players saved it.
You’re the only person I ever heard say he was trash …none of the starts from back in the day have said that , sheed mad at how much he was making well he should’ve been mad at the owners for paying it because they didn’t have too but they chose to
So there wasn't no talented stars before those guys?
Where did Sheed get that shirt?? That thing is 🔥!!
Sounds like a bunch of haters. Stern’s the billionaires henchman. He gets paid for sure.
Whybwould anyone ever think he was a nice, cool guy?
He was the head of a billion dollar company....those types of companies are run by A-holes
Stern’s salary is none of Sheed’s business. Didn’t affect his money.
Rasheed is a great dude, would have loved to have been on a team with him.
19 million was a lot of money back then? 😆🤣😂
It sounds crazy 😂 but compared to current salaries….it pales in comparison.
It’s a lot now
Y’all got think that money is getting tax a lot. Even tho he bring in 19m’s. They taxing that all the way down depend on state income taxes if living cali thats about 9.2m’s after taxes come through

Sheed North Philly stand up
They are just wrong Stern never earned 30-32 Mill a year. He was at about $20 million. He also helped grow the league into what it is today. So they can talk trash all day but with out Stern guiding the NBA they would not have been making the money they were making. Larry OBrein was good but the league took off when Stern took over.
Sheed is most likely stretching it a bit. NBA Players are nothing more than marketable, profitable EMPLOYEES. The NBA and Madison Avenue, make the rules and call the shots.
David Stern was a great guy and well respected throughout the NBA. Don’t let these 2 fool u these guys were constantly arguing with refs getting T’d up now they’re talking down on good ppl who can’t defend themselves. RIP David Stern 🙏
He was a snake! Just another edomite
Dude was not a good dude. He no real denial for the ref who was caught gambling and exposed how the NBA brass told them to fix outcomes. He also was known to treat certain players really bad. He didn’t like tattoos, even though it is a personal choice and they were not offensive
@@nunyabusiness1755 U don’t know that man personally. A lot of players did love him and saw him as a father figure. He did act like that sometimes and was strict sometimes because he wanted the NBA to be represented the right way. David Stern did a great job in the NBA. Don’t speak down on people u don’t know personally. Too many ppl do that these days and that’s a weak trait.
Are they lying ?
That's the question
What makes him good?
It's business
Stern made it so these black athletes are getting more paid hundreds of millions these 2 were on the recreated the name jail blazers for there thuggish street ball ways and menaces off the court.

To Stern's defense,
Dude took Magic and Larry and marketed the leauge like a MOTHER F$CKER...
The numbers players are seeing today was because of "King" David.🤷🏿♂️
Still doesn't take away the fact that Stern was a racist prick
GTFOH, you might wanna say the sneaker companies help these cat's more than your king
Oh please, he wasn’t with them shooting in the gym
Stern and the NBA used racism and their skills as ball players to market Magic Johnson and Larry bird. Lol it worked because nobody was watching the NBA until they came into the league.
Exactly right. That's if you could even watch the game, most people didn't even have cable TV.
0:50 Under Stern's leadership, the NBA's total revenues increased from $118 million to over $8 billion, my guess is that's why.
I was in Portland when Sheed was there and he was relentless on referees even when he was “guilty”. He was insufferable many times and they lost games as a result. He can call Stern a tyrant all he wants but I bet if he was alive they would try to get him back! That’s why Silver and the owners are trying to reel in this player empowerment that’s taken the league in the wrong direction. This league is in trouble, 35% drop in viewership since the pandemic. I don’t watch it. They have to really sell it to get viewers and it’s not working.
The NBA style of play today is pure shit. Garbage!!! It's the least entertaining to watch ever in its history. Commissioner Adam Silver is not built to be a leader of men. He sat & allowed the game to turn into a three point contest, players overrun the league with load management & refusing to play whenever they can't get their way. Fan viewership has been steadily dropping like a bowling ball under his leadership while he's claiming it's the greatest game in the world. Now he's supposedly soliciting the advice of one LeBron James, the most self-absorbed player in the history of the game, on how to improve the game as if LeBron cares about anything or anybody other than himself. Adam Silver is officially clueless & whatever he & LeBron has going on they should use it to start their own league in the LBGTQ community where I'm sure they both will be very happy. And take Draymond Green & Dwayne Wade with them while they're at it.
Scared of player emporwerment and young blackmen doing what’s best for themselves? Dumm razzist comments
Considering chinas impact on the league (and viewership)…. there’s many variable outside of the quality of the product that the nba produces and bullshit politics, pure business conversation that people try to muddy up until it devolves into social Justice issues. It’s not, talk all you want it’s not, More has to do with the general decline in people watching television….. I don’t have a cable, haven’t had it ever 🤷🏽♂️
@executiveblack403 The NBA get viewers in different ways than just traditional appointment tv.
It’s down cause it isn’t as good as before…. And Sheed wasn’t insufferable. I was in Portland too. Sheed was a young emotional man. He needed vets that could hold him accountable. Also Portland tried to make him the go to man, the superstar. But that wasn’t him. He just wanted to be one of the guys even tho he had superstar talent
lol imagine if a civilian told Rasheed how come you are making 20 million a year playing basketball. What would Sheed's reaction be ?
Everybody knew about Stern's so called secret 🌈

Rasheed I hear you my brother and I got nothing but love for you as you were a tar heel and I’m a die hard fan. But we gotta get our people to understand he can make more then the top athlete because it’s their league Brother not yours you are a product of the league. You wanna change things start your own league. The bigger question should be all these guys making billions now why are they not starting their own league that should be the question. Cause it makes no sense to me why they are not doing that. You can’t question them about their busniness when it’s their league. Same as if it were you and your peoples league they couldn’t question you about anything why because it’s yours you run it as you see fit
I hear you but there's no way that could happen. Simply not possible. There are all kind of obstacles in place to prevent precisely such a thing from happening on the largest scales - Sheed would quickly find owners unwilling to do business with him; business outlets outright refusing, etc. Stern had the backing of the Tribe and their multitude of affiliates. Never gonna happen - he'd be taking hundreds-of-billions of dollars from these people if something like that were allowed to happen.
it's the Jews league?
Good point. Problem is we are so used to being controlled that it is unnatural to break away. All mental. Too controlled by slave masters to get away
Ask ice cube what happened when he started his own league
Two bullies calling somebody else a bully, go figure. Rasheed and Bonzi Wells, Stephen Jackson, Matt Barnes etc, we're bad for the league.
So basically Rasheed never cared to comprehend how & what entails in being a Professional Sports Commissioner to warrant his salary. Kinda defeats the purpose of going to college.
The point of going to college is to make money for your career. Sheed did that.
College is a stepping stone to get to the NBA for 90% of players.
And you do?
