  • Jumping into the world of frequent flyer programmes is complex and full of so many variables - combined with less than brilliant IT systems, they can become difficult to get your head around. 🫤 In this video, I focus on the basics of Virgin Atlantic's Flying Club loyalty programme. 💪
    Many viewers in the UK will be familiar with British Airways Executive Club but may wish to dip their toe into an alternative programme. Virgin's Flying Club is your best option.
    In this video, I cover:
    - the basics of tiers and their general benefits
    - what are Virgin Points (miles) and the difference to Tier Points?
    - what does Virgin joining SkyTeam change about the airline?
    - who are Virgin's global partners?
    - how to find award seats on Virgin and all their partners?
    - finally, how to book the award seats
    While that may sound simple...it is actually a lot more complex than you expect. I suspect many people may find this video a bit dry and long...but if you do find it interesting or have any questions, pop them down below 👇. It's highly likely I've also missed some details, so if there's anything major, be sure to drop us a comment.
    Thank you for watching! I will be back with a video review on one of Virgin's SkyTeam partners, KLM, in the next couple of weeks.

    Awesome video, Callum, thanks. One observation, it appeared that what you were removing with Dev Tools was the full footer. I am unable to duplicate that action to bring up the Chat to Us box, but I may either be removing too much or not the right part. The page also looks different than when you did the video. It's possible that they changed it since you published this video due to too many chat requests to book awards... perhaps you could check if you are still able to bring up the Chat box and reply, or reply with instructions detailing which element to remove?

      Hi Marciodeal - super sorry for my slow reply. It may be that you don't need to do this action any more - I just went on the VS website, and just heading to the login page the chat box appears - www.virginatlantic.com/login/loginPage - give it a go and let me know if you can view it?
      The chat box should be on the bottom right of your window

    How do I find Kenya reward flights for Virgin points usage?

    • @CallumElsdon
      @CallumElsdon  4 месяца назад

      Hi @urbanprojectz, if you can’t find it on the Virgin site search tool - then your option is probably to opt to call Virgin Flying Club or try the live chat option. However, I’m not entirely sure what Kenya Airlines are like in terms of releasing award space.
      Good luck :)

    Which Sky Team Member is the best to look for KLM/AirFrance Flights?
    Thanks for the good info!

      @CallumElsdon  11 месяцев назад

      Hi Deng10ng, it depends on who you have your miles with:
      - Flying Blue - of course, use Air France KLM
      - Non-Flying Blue (e.g. Virgin Points, Delta Skymiles) - check on Delta.com then book by ringing your respective programme (e.g. Virgin Atlantic).
      It's a bit convoluted - but quite often Air France and KLM will only release a limited subset of award tickets to SkyTeam partners meaning those on AF-KLM.com will not always reflect what is available to partners.
      Hope this helps!

    Hi Callum - Are you able to use the companion voucher to book flights from non UK destinations, to UK destinations? Or does the outbound have to be from the UK? Thanks

    • @CallumElsdon
      @CallumElsdon  11 месяцев назад

      Hi nemishmehta4755, Good question and it's certainly one I needed to search. I've tried looking on Virgin's website (as well as HeadForPoints, TPG) and I cannot see anywhere that is must start in the UK. Checking the Ts&Cs, there's no reference to the UK as an origin - unlike the BA vouchers.
      Good luck and do let me know if you are able to use the voucher starting ex-UK!

    Hi Callum, quick question. If I am looking to fly Singapore Airlines from LHR to Singapore or Japan using Virgin Atlantic Airmiles, I need to use Air Canada to search for availability and then fly to Istanbul first? and then it is more likely to be Economy?

    • @CallumElsdon
      @CallumElsdon  11 месяцев назад

      Hi Mark - sorry for my slow reply, I have been on holiday and busy on my return.
      You can get Singapore Airlines (SQ) from London to Singapore but SQ only make Economy award tickets available to Virgin members (VS) on this route. You could however connect onto a Business award from Singapore to Tokyo as this is allowed for VS members.
      The point about Istanbul is that despite being geographically in Europe, SQ define it as a Middle East origin & destination. This makes it very good value as a redemption (per point) and means that VS members can book it in Business Class. This would mean that you would need to find a way to get to Istanbul but you would get Business Class on the lengthy sector to Singapore.
      Air Canada is quite good to check availability as SQ availability on here will be similar to what a VS agent can see. Not always the same - but if you check sector by sector e.g. on AirCanada.com check IST-SIN in Business, SIN-HND/NRT - ensuring that the flights are on SQ only. Beware AirCanada.com will also show non-SQ airlines, which are not partners of VS.
      Hope this helps! If you've any more questions, head to my website and drop me an email.
      Cheers and happy flying ✈️
      Callum
