Repairing a Badge Holder (How to instructions)

In this video we explain how to repair a broken Badge Holder, where the string has broken and retracted completely into the clip reel.
The process is relatively easy and requires only a simple prying tool.
First we open up the reel in order to recover the string. Then we prepare the badge holder to reattach the string. Last step is to reassemble the reel.

Do you have a video of how to reattach the string to the housing mechanism? My string ripped from the inside of the retractable mechanism.

Put the string into the piece where the coil is then single or double knot it so it can’t come out and respool.

why doesn't my string pop back fully?

You have to tighten the coil a bit more when spooling. Basically while you’re spooling the wire before you finish pull the string slightly to add tension to the coil then put the string through the hole and connect the two housing pieces.

Pushing the knife in I broke the whole thing and had to put Scotch tape to mend it....
