Thanks ! got mine working it was the Keybak Super 48 with Kevlar cord , the end part got broken one day when running very quickly away from a Wasp nest in a door I had just opened! Went back later a got the key and the key ring portion of the unit. Opened up and gave the string a couple of wraps and put the end back on . All Good now!

Glad I saw this. Got a vintage one that doesn't have a clip but a metal belt loop. My daughter started opening things with a screwdriver to see how things work and didn't get this back right. Thanks man I'm about to get a plastic one so I can make a internal power cord for my Wii u gamepad I'm still trying to understand them like where could I mount the cord in that where it doesn't interfere. I need to drill a hole and bring it out anyways. I don't want the headphone versions because both sides have to retract I only need one side to retract like this.
