Heaps of the verse is like an upbeat grunge version of the opening parts. And then at 0:20 and 1:16 is near identical to her singing - To hold her and rock her to sleep / Did I need her more than she needed me?

Had this one on loop for like 2 weeks now, this is something I'd have been rocking on my cd player in the late 90s
My theory is that this is Lex celebrating after getting out of jail and the song is to Pamela for framing them and obviously getting what she deserves. She trashes the trailer when she saves up enough for the apartment. Or could be what she wants to do when she gets out, same difference.
The wheelchair thingy was prob Pamela's too, plus the smoking might be a reference to Pamela, and the cake might have been something she wasn't allowed to have and is breaking the rule cause she can, the lier message was also originally intended for Pamela too
At the same time, she's still doing said drinking and smoking and chaos while presumably being Hannah's guardian. (During this event I assume she's with Ethan) But that means in some ways she might be inching closer to sadly becoming like her mother out of spite, exhaustion, and her time in jail. Thankfully, Lex has a support system so I doubt she will go too far.
The only problem I have with that is she said "started like a honeymoon". It sounds like the person she's singing about tricked her. Did Pamela ever act nice to her?
@@HelloImakecovers Probably the usual keeping them isolated and telling them that what she was doing was normal. Like the giving Hannah alcohol in Witch in the Web probably wasn't a one time thing and this might be a generational issue that Pamela bought into. Especially working at the toy store probably showed Lex that wasn't normal at all. Maybe when they were really little they loved her/ had a good relationship with her because they didn't know any better. "But now I see, you never ever had my best intrest (in mind)"
@@kirajg4970 That makes sense...I did use to love my abusive parents.. but there is one thing in the song that still doesn't make sense to me. "Go back to your boys and say you're tough." Who are her boys? I thought it was just her and her two daughters. Her bfs? Boys just makes me think of Linda but that makes zero sense.
@@HelloImakecovers Judging on how Pamela was watching the news just to pretend she was with the news anchor, she might bring home a bunch of trash boyfriends that never really last and probably are younger than she is. I'm not quite sure how this would be about Linda, but I'd love to hear your theories!! :D
This song is so good!! Thanks for uploading!! The first time I heard it I had already been spoiled about (SPOILER!!) Ethan and Alex breaking up, so I thought that had happened prior to the story and this song was to Ethan. OOOF. I was wrong 😅

@@djoctobeat5204 I dunno, a good number of lines give me the impression that lex is just a stand-in for webby, and the song is being sung to pokey. ("never ever had my best interests in mind," "the things you say always got in the way of my own very existence," "and once i've roughed you up, go back to your boys and say you're tough," etc.)
it's been done before, with mariah and robert being stand-ins for emma and paul in Forever and Always, and with kim whalen (presumably) being a stand-in for Tinky in the song Time Bastard, so I don't think it's that far out of the realm of possibility.
But honestly that's probably just because it doesn't fully make sense to me for lex to be singing it, since I can't really think of anyone that in lex's life that the lyrics fully relate to.
