Steve is just something else. People unfortunately don't realise just how important he is, not just as a phenomenal guitarist but as a co-writer on Billy's biggest tracks
Billy Idol just dripped of charisma, sex and attitude in the 80's. Total rock legend. Backed by a phenomenal guitarist in Steve Stevens bringing the killer riffs.
Steve Stevens is criminally underrated. The last time I saw them live, Steve played flamenco style guitar for his solo. That was a refreshing change from a guitarist just puking notes for 5 minutes. In the studio, Billy usually sang in a register that is kind to his voice as he ages. Plus, he takes care of himself and is in excellent shape. The shows are great! Go see the show if you get the chance.
Billy Idol is still going strong and still has his patented sneer. He had a rivalry with David Bowie and would brag that he same band for all his songs. FYI Bowie never had a permanent band. Trivia: Bowie producer Tony Visconti has worked with Band Maid!
Steve Stevens is a top notch 80s/90s shredder, renowned in the guitar community. He won a grammy for the Top Gun theme tune, and was guest guitarist on Michael Jackson’s Dirty Diana. He also has a unique ‘ray gun’ repeat sound on his guitar solos that he pioneered. Pretty sure he wrote the music and riffs for Billy Idol’s hits.
William Broad is Billy's real born in Stanmore middlesex in the South of England 🇬🇧,the name idol comes his school days as his teacher wrote idle Billy stevie Stevens is the guitar player
Steve Stevens one of the best rock guitar players ( my opinion ) i saw Billy Idol with Steve in London Ontario 🤘 Billy Idol's drummer plays with Joan Jett too 🤘
In the fickle world of rock music, guitarists often moved in and out of bands for many reasons. Creative differences, personality clashes, stolen girlfriends etc, it’s great to see these lifelong collaborations between the front man and his lead guitarist. Two alpha dogs sharing the spotlight. Sometimes the combination is pure magic.
What i heard early on,i think it was actually my mom telling me this. Billy Idol was actually really shy,and if i remember right he had stage fright at one point, but he would losen up and turn into a totally different person once the music started playing. It was like touring became a theraphy for his shyness. He has always looked so fearless and (to some) almost cocky, but there is alot more then thoose first impressions with Billy Idol.
The 80s were absolutely the best when it came to stage presence. Bands just knew how to entertain a crowd. There are a few bands out there these days that really know how to put on a show, but they're few and far between.
THEY ROCK😎🎸 I was in my early 30's...when he preformed this hit IM 70 NOW !!! GREAT MEMORIES 💕 Fun Time 2B ALIVE and.... I met MICHAEL Jackson when He was around 12 yrs old I was a senior in high school.... He was my friends lil brothers best friend at the time Another Great Memory 💕
I grew up on Billy Idol. my best friend was a dead ringer for him, even the lip curl!! We would listen to all his albums over and over. The album "Vital Idol" was a must have if you were in high school in the mid 80's. So cool! Thanks guys!
Billy has the best rock n roll story. In the 80's he was in a hotel in Thailand I think, wouldnt leave just a permanent party, rang up a bill of 250k, refused to leave, the cops came and had to shoot him with a tranquilliser gun and took him to the airport and put him on a plane. Billy is the real deal
You need to see the Mony Mony video for the audience participation! I remember reading that the girls would be used to fill the front of the stage area because it fired up the performances.
You should see Billy now, still rockin' a very similar look, still rockin" out still as hot as ever, and he's a granddad. Not many people can pull that shit off.
My heart, y’all! He was my first heart throb. Elvis was my first love. Loved that he curled his lip like Elvis and wore leather, also like Elvis. Looooved him!
Most people don't get him, but in his way, this is a love song. He is awesome!! The guitarrist, Steve Stevens is amazing!!! You should check the "Story Tellers" of Billy. He Tells why he wrote each song. Good reaction!! Greettings from Argentina!!!
Love love love Billy Idol who still performs today. Saw him in Vegas a few weeks ago and he was great! So much fun! Adored him in the 80s and still loving his music today.
Billy Idol has been around a long time and always is so fun. He rocks out and gets you pumped up. A popular one with Bridal Showers that are out in a club setting is "White Wedding". Great reactions guys!
Billy came out of early British Punk and was very nearly in the Sex Pistols. I am that old that I remember seeing him in his band Generation X around 1981 just before they broke up and he moved to the US. He took the idol name as a dig to a school teacher who used to call him idle. He actually started off as a guitarist in the early punk band Chelsea. The MTV era made him.
This is the song that was played fir speed skating from my mid teen, ahh the memories this song brings back, mate's,parties good times...peace from Australia..
Imagine being 15 and you've gone to the county fair with your friends. Its night time and there is an MTV booth and they are blasting this video and its the first time you have ever seen MTV. My mind was blown.
As mentioned the guitarist is Steve Stevens, a legend then & now. Billy Idol is still amazing but in the 80’s he was known as the Unicorn because he achieved something no other artist or band could. He was universally loved by all in a time where the camps were divided & clubs catered to specific groups (other than the AM radio places despised by all who cared about music). Only Billy Idol was played by the clubs/FM stations for New Wave/New Romantic, Punk, Headbangers & Metal Heads. Only at a Billy Idol concert could we all be there in our very different fashion (proud New Waver) and put aside our differences and rock out to the coolest man in music together.
Even though this song is almost 40 years; it keeps rocking minds. I've been hearing Billy Idol's songs since I was a kid, and I still enjoy his voice and his style.
I can't tell you how awesome this song was at the time! It's awesome now...but at the time, hearing that on the radio or seeing that video...OMG! It was fantastic!
Billy Idol is so cool that most people can't even comprehend it...
The Kelvin scale is insufficient...
But nowadays he is only a resident of r/tooktomuch
Need context of this
So cool and so hot, all at once.
Well I'm out …
the guitarist Steve Stevens and Billy Idol have had a 40yr collaboration and they still kick some ass even today
Yes! They just don't jump around as much as they used to. lol
If I was starting a band, I would pick Steve Stevens, Neil Schon or Phil X as my guitarist. Unique and nice players.
Check the guitar player when they perfom Eyes Without a Face live.
@@alexakl6445 That shit hurts a little more now.
Billy Idol. A man who partied soo hard back in the day, they had to call in the military to remove him from a hotel room he was partying in.
Steve Stevens is so down to earth.. Such a great guy.. The man is one of the greatest rock guitarist of all time.... He totally ROCKS!!!!
Saw them live back in the day. Steve Stevens had that energy through the whole 2 hour show. One of the best.
A genuine bloke.
He's really into food, too. I saw him on an old Iron Chef Japan, as a guest.
He's so cool his first name is in his last name
Steve is just something else. People unfortunately don't realise just how important he is, not just as a phenomenal guitarist but as a co-writer on Billy's biggest tracks

"Reverend!"
All I can say is if you go to a live show, and the guitar player has his own merchandise, he's something special. 🤘🎸 🤘
Absolutely! SS is amazing, I love the prog album he did with Terry Bozzio
Ain't that the truth!
Thank god his wallet is not underrated at all, like so many of his peers guitar heros from the era that are broke giving lessons in the best cases
One of the greatest Rock tracks ever written and performed!
Billy Idol is still going strong and still has his patented sneer. He had a rivalry with David Bowie and would brag that he same band for all his songs. FYI Bowie never had a permanent band.
Trivia: Bowie producer Tony Visconti has worked with Band Maid!
Saw Billy Idol and Steve Stevens five years ago. They were older of course, but still rocked hard! Great concert.
Me too. He/they are still killing it
Steve Stevens is a top notch 80s/90s shredder, renowned in the guitar community. He won a grammy for the Top Gun theme tune, and was guest guitarist on Michael Jackson’s Dirty Diana. Oh man, I totally forgot that he played on Dirty Diana!
Had a girlfriend in junior high that dragged me to an Idol concert in 82. Great show!!
We want MO MO MO MO of billy idol's music
William Broad is Billy's real born in Stanmore middlesex in the South of England 🇬🇧,the name idol comes his school days as his teacher wrote idle Billy stevie Stevens is the guitar player
Billy Idol was adorable, and I was in love with him. 🥰 He’s a grandpa now. I’m old!
They brought in actual fans to make the video. The band actually played for them. They started to go so wild, they told them to calm down
Back in my day growing up this was badd ass punk rock..still
Is
Steve Stevens one of the best rock guitar players ( my opinion ) i saw Billy Idol with Steve in London Ontario 🤘 Billy Idol's drummer plays with Joan Jett too 🤘
You are very lucky !
In the fickle world of rock music, guitarists often moved in and out of bands for many reasons. Creative differences, personality clashes, stolen girlfriends etc, it’s great to see these lifelong collaborations between the front man and his lead guitarist. Two alpha dogs sharing the spotlight. Billy never takes himself too seriously. Such a great guy. You need to watch the extended version of White Wedding. Not the radio edited version.
What i heard early on,i think it was actually my mom telling me this. Billy Idol was actually really shy,and if i remember right he had stage fright at one point, but he would losen up and turn into a totally different person once the music started playing. This song never gets old 🤗🤘🤘🤘🤘

I grew up on Billy Idol. my best friend was a dead ringer for him, even the lip curl!! We would listen to all his albums over and over. The album "Vital Idol" was a must have if you were in high school in the mid 80's. So cool! Thanks guys!
This is the greatest video ever….the female band member actually responded to her own video last year….
Stevie Stevens is an amazing guitar player. Check out "cradle of love" 👍🏼🔥
"cradle of love" was recorded at a time without steve stevens
Mark Younger Smith I think was the guitarist.
Eyes without a face beginning Melody at the end😂
What a legend Billy Idol is.
That lip curl you're referring to - Billy Idol called that his "whiplash sneer". That was also the name of one of his albums!
Billy Idol....rocking out STILL and looking fine AF. Luv this....the energy...and it's naughty bwhahahhah
When Billy Idol was born the Doctor high fived him, he was always that cool 😎
Billy Idol is legendary. 🎉
Very underrated band. Probably the most entertaining band of all time as a collective group.
I listened to billy idol in the early 80's in high school at the age of 13 what a cool era💯👍
Classic 80's Billy Idol is a Legend! If this song does not get You Hyped and Up Out of Your Seat then You need to Go Re-Think Life Ha!
Steve Stevens is a Guitar God!
This music is extremely high quality!
Those were great and fun times.
Steve Stevens is probably the most under rated guitarist, considering the people he has worked with.
He sounds unique and was a great performer. Also, he didn't appear to be a dick.
You must react to Billy Idols “eyes without a face” his best work.
I was pushing 30 in the 80s and loved all these bands! no country crap for this 60 something! I love you younger people are discovering them!
I saw him live in 1991 and he was as amazing as you would imagine.
I saw him in 1987 with The Cult. Holy shit!
You need to see the Mony Mony video for the audience participation! I remember reading that the girls would be used to fill the front of the stage area because it fired up the performances.
Ohhh My great teenage hero, make cradle of love!!!!! Greetings from Rio Tercero, Córdoba Argentina dad!!!!
You should see Billy now, still rockin' a very similar look, still rockin" out still as hot as ever, and he's a granddad. Not many people can pull that shit off.
Billy Idol - fantastic. I'm a big fan since the 80s and I love all songs. He's great! Thanks.
They still kill it! Check out their recent unplugged duets. Billy and Steve aged like fine wine in every way! 💜🎵💜🎶💜
My heart, y’all! He was my first heart throb. Elvis was my first love. Loved that he curled his lip like Elvis and wore leather, also like Elvis. Looooved him!
Steve Stevens used an antique metal ray gun, held next to the guitar pickups, to get that sound during the solo.
I have Seen Billy Idol on A Concert 1993 in Austria. He Performance before Bon Jovi. Over 30 Years ago? Sheeeessh , i am getting Old 😂😂😂
Most people don't get him, but in his way, this is a love song. He is awesome!! The guitarrist, Steve Stevens is amazing!!! You should check the "Story Tellers" of Billy. He Tells why he wrote each song. Good reaction!! Greettings from Argentina!!!
I'm so lucky to have seen Billy Idol live in Dublin in the early 90s. Still one of my favourite concerts x

Billy Idol has been around a long time and always is so fun. He rocks out and gets you pumped up. A popular one with Bridal Showers that are out in a club setting is "White Wedding". Great reactions guys!
You should check out the acoustic version of this with Billy and Steve Stevens. Really terrific.

Isn’t he fantastic, such a showman and amazing voice.
Should watch....THE WHO...WOULD GET FOOLED AGAIN...LIVE,...that's a great one...great performance
I've seen him many times and he puts on one helluva show. Music like this is how we stayed in shape back in the day.

I have to set the cruise control when I’m driving to this song……I’ll speed every time!
Great song. Great band.
Whoa. Total throwback for me. Gotta say I heard his new stuff and it’s fire.
Imagine being 15 and you've gone to the county fair with your friends. Its night time and there is an MTV booth and they are blasting this video and its the first time you have ever seen MTV. My mind was blown.

Epic! 😎
Billy and Steve together are high Octane energy.
Thanks for all feeding me my appetite.
Yeah, that's rocking it..
I can’t believe I got to live through this era! Love me some punk!
Billy Idol has an incredible amount of hit songs.
He should be a rock festival mainstay, since he has a solid hour of five-star classics.
Even though this song is almost 40 years; it keeps rocking minds. I've been hearing Billy Idol's songs since I was a kid, and I still enjoy his voice and his style.
Billy is right out of A Clockwork Orange. Great band and stage presence.
I love Billy Idol 😃💜
Absolutely love your hair and matching lippy.
I had to change the channel whenever I see Billy Idol. My favorite in College. Even had a pretending to be him
Check out his performances with the punk group Generation X. A good start would be Into the Valley of the Dolls and King Rocker.
the energy...off the charts...one of my faves from my heyday!! rock on yall:))))
I can't tell you how awesome this song was at the time! It's awesome now...but at the time, hearing that on the radio or seeing that video...OMG! It was fantastic!
So true, Laura!
The guitarplayer from Billy Idols Band is,Stevie Stevens a true GuitarLegend
Now, think about when this came out...40 years ago. I was a senior in high school. I feel sorry for those who didn't get to experience this firsthand.
