It is said the sound was so terrifying that many union soldiers dropped their guns and ran. Hence the intensity of her screams, "More, More, More!" It was supposedly used at Gettysburg during Pickett's charge, but the union soldiers held their ground and fought back the advance. Gettysburg was the farthest north the South would ever get... the tide of the war was changed there.
