- Hello. I started making this knife back in November, but unfortunately my belt grinder broke down and the project had to be put on hold indefinitely. And now sit back, pour some tea and enjoy watching, I hope you enjoy this vide
Beautiful knife! I like the simple design.
My take on it, too. It looks like a kitchen knife, not a museum artifact.
😊🫶
Love your work mate!
Just shows that you can create a beautiful piece, without really expensive equipment, if you use patience and skill.
Keep it up!
And I don’t have either one of those things …
Amazing knife!
Going make it for my collection.
Coltello e lavoro fantastico 😍🤩👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Very nice looking
Wonderful work
Beautiful knife mate!
beautiful kiritsuke
For the 2 part epoxies, there are syringes you can get at the big box stores. My favorite is in the wall paper part of the store, and they are bigger. They can also be found in by the glues. Use a bamboo skewer to stir, put in the plunger and push. Much less mess. Seems like most are going to 5 minute epoxies. I prefer the 30 minute ones.
No heat treatment?
At 60 HRC it's already hardened.
He has a lot of money to burn on belts and files.
@@madslashers2002 files become knives when dull and they make diamond coated sandpaper! Lasts a long ass time
Nice work, but did you forget something? where is the heat treatment?
Was wondering the same..

I wrote an android program to calculate the blade opening and sharpening angles. If anyone wants to participate in the closed testing process of the program, let me know your email address and I will include it in the testing program.
Ha lol you absolute legend using rubber bands to clamp up a knife
😄😄😄
👍👍👍
What was the step where applied what appeared to be epoxy on the guard, only to then remove the blade for handle shaping? Also, no hardening?
Steel was already hard, it had 60hrc written on it.
If the steel was hardened before you grinded the shape, didn't you tempered it actually by the grinder?
LOLO this is actually a Bunka, not a Kiritsuke. Kiritsukes have a less curved profile to perfrom the push cut technique and a Bunka due to a more round bevel is more suitable for a rocking technique.
bar stock is about half the thickness it should be.

Gdzie mogę kupić taki nóż
japonskienoze.pl

could i buy one knife?
You really wanna buy garbage like this?
Thanks for the comment) Unfortunately, I'm not selling my knives yet.
Ou es, Thank you for watching!
@@gorodph Why so jealous though? Don’t be jealous. Just go buy the tools and make one yourself. Oh yeah, don’t forget to film it so we can see what garbage, oops, sorry, so we can see what fabulous creations you make. 😂

Beautiful
where can you buy steel like that?
I'm from belgium and can't find it here
very nice knife btw :-)
Texas knife makers supplies in America.
Could I talk You into making a Chinese knife ( or preferably cleaver ) for Me ?
I'll make a cleaver soon)))
Honda racing corporation😂😂😂
Loved the use of the electric bands also the shape of the knife. Keep it up.
Thanks 👍
@@edwardknives8692 ---- I have a question about using your belt grinder and preserving the heat treatment at HRC 60. I like to sharpen friends' knives for them, and I use a simple 3x18" belt sander to get the chips out. A few people on the internet have jumped on me, saying that, "Oh! You ruin the heat treat!" I proceed at low speed, in short bursts, with a wet towel at hand, I never press so hard as to get any sparks, and I wonder if you would comment on the subject of using belt sanding - and how warm steel has to be to "ruin the heat treat"?
Wouldn’t cutting the steel with an angle grinder ruin the temper?
I was constantly cooling the steel with water)
Great skill and beautiful knife.
You must have calipers that cost a dollar a dozen in the way you use it as a metal scriber.
Top !
Love your work! Any chance you can tell me the size of the steel blank? Length, width and thickness?
Where is the hear treat and quench, without those thats not a real blade
The stock was marked 60HRC, which means it was already heat treated (quenched), and tempered. As long as he did not get the cutting edge above 250C while cutting and grinding, he did not affect the hardness of the blade.
Why so thick, that's more like aan elongated deba
