I was inspired by Dragon Quest (Lon Berk character) and some movies so when I see some Katana or Knife, I fall in love immediately! If I were a Japanese, I would come to there and begging them from my heart to teach me that career ❤️

I recently visited Japan and wanted to buy a handcrafted knife directly from the craftsman who made it.
Unfortunately, I wasn't organised enough to visit a smithy for this to happen.
The next best thing is purchasing one of these knives - which I have just done. Seeing 3 generations working in the shop together, including a 10th generation craftsman, is incredibly special.
I look forward to many, many years using the knife (and handing it down to one of my children).

IMO, few things bring me more pleasure than using a quality knife that has been properly sharpened to a surgeon's precision. My Grandfather was a butcher and he taught me the value of good steel, sharp edges and the proper care of all tools. Proudly, I have several of his tools of his trade and they are always maintained in a state of scary sharp readiness...and respect

Third, your father is blessed with good health, he is basically the same age as my mother who is almost wheel chair bound and certainly not capable of forging steel. Fourth your dad doesn't look 90 or close to it either! Super Sugoi!! You have another subscriber! And great your son is also involved! I have some knives from Takashi Saji I bought while I was there. For So many generationsm making great quality cook8ng knives. You should keep this up. My great Grandfather was a Blacksmith while of Nobile birth and a descendent of the Good Sir James Douglas, a cousin to the current Dukes grandfather his own son did not follow him into the trade, My. father and I did, though I wasn't born Paraplegic, forced to walk in callipers. I am older now and have always had a deep admiration of the skill and spiritual side of Japanese though I enjoy such videos. I still wish to work with steel.
I hope to encourage young craftsmen to attempt to work Wod steel into the high carbon Tamehagne steel process to make Valerian swords using the traditional Japanese methods.😮😂😅

We will try to reach out and see how the smithy is doing, and see if there is something we can do to help. Thanks so much really!
