I wanted to express my inner feeling about the way we consider a vehicle to purchase nowadays. Today, we don't buy a new vehicle. We just buy features to use. Parameters fundamental to a vehicle like suspension and build quality, driving feel, chassis significance became secondary and take a back seat in this era of desire to buy the most feature loaded vehicle. If this irony isn't sufficient, the bigger one comes in when those features, on whose basis the car was chosen as opposed to vehicle technical abilities, are hardly used. I am sure most fancy features like sunroof, voice commands, etc. are hardly used in our daily normal commute. Instead, it would be nice to see if we could show the same interest in paying for better safety standards so that consumers like us can travel safely. Biggest irony is that we Indians don't even get basic safety equipment as standard in terms of all round airbags (at least 6 airbags) whereas the world has moved on to radar assisted safety systems. This is something that needs to be pondered upon, seriously.
Very well said. Of course the features you listed is something that are really important to me in a car, but the fact that we are downgrading driver protection is not accepted. The point to be noted that you can have both features and safety. The main reason that companies don't pay much attention to safety in india, especially at the budget level, is because consumers don't have that at the top of their considerations.

If you know anything about safty and engineering, you don't use solid steel to make a car. It makes it heavy and unsafe for passengers. But, when India has people like you, I don't doubt they make shitty products like this one.

Altroz has only body......engine is laggy, high noise producing. And poor cabin insulation so that engine sound can be heard inside cabin compared to other cars of the same segments...........Tata must take care of these things.....

Hi Sumit! Parts availability has not been a major issue for Tata cars. While what you are saying could have been the case when the Altroz was initially launched, it's been over a year now so it shouldn't be something you should worry about. Check online customer reviews of the Tata service centres near your location to check if people have raised such concerns.

Dear, You should apply brakes before crash happens and try to bring down speed from 100 to say 64 or less... That is why crash test is done at 64 kmph Road accident conditions are way different. But NCAP has a framework within which it tests the cars..

64 kmph ki speed par crash test kiya jata hai or highway pr cars 100 + chalti hai ghanta crash test or 5 star rating kaam ayegi.
