As a long time /Filmcast listener, there are few things that bring me joy like the level of laughter Matt Singer brings out in David Chen.

David cracking up because a movie is bafflingly or unbelievably bad is always great. The 'Fantastic Four' /Filmcast is classic.

What's kind of interesting is, is that there is a version of the Christmas Carol, where the three spirits of Past, Present, and Future, encounter Scrooge separately before and after his fateful night, in the real world as normal people, and they play it off as coincidence at first, but in the end when you see the three go off together, you realize for sure that these the real three ghosts checking on him.
I think if they did something like that and didn't add in all the extra fluff, the movie could have been a lot better. Have them hire three mysterious actors but only to help him, have them do so but also help the people who hired them, and at the end have them disappear without a trace, and it be implied that these were the real Love, Time, and Death the entire time.

I was hoping this movie would be like a Stranger Than Fiction type deal but with Will Smith which sounded awesome in my head but apparently it wasnt

The film went through multiple directors and actors before it finally was shot. One of the directors that would have been attached was the guy who did Me, Earl, and The Dying Girl.

The friends mention Smith chewing out a grief counselor at one point, but it's never clear if that's Harris or someone else.

Actually I am quite interested in the movie now. I wonder if the movie is bad or if it just doesn't satisfy the expectations of an american audience. In european cinema we are used to uncomfortable stories and characters, to things not being explained and not having a happy ending to every story in the movie. It actually sounds like a skandinavian or french movie.

Even the three archetypes or foundational concepts seem convoluted. Shouldn't Time and Death be the same character? "We wish we had more time" because we're going to die - death is the time limit. Whatever.

If there was ever a movie that's a prime candidate for the podcast 'How Did This Get Made?,' this movie would be it.

The movie literally points this out. Helen Mirren has a whole speech about it. It is promptly forgotten.

Winslet's whole deal is that she doesn't have time for a family, but we only see Pena and Norton's families for like 2 minutes combined.

I said wtf within the first 5 minutes of this movie. He set up that awesome domino construction and didn't even watch it collapse.

"Inside Out" with Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, Disgust, etc. achieved (with flying colors) what this pathetic film didn't even ATTEMPT to (trailer is a LIE, just like the movie itself).
That's why this 32-year-old with no children sticks with the animated films.

Was it horrible because the movie touched the basis of life?. Or was it horrible because it made you realize, an individual, in your own life , it made you realize things that it's so hard for you to realize or touch on to ? Could it be possible that you are as broken as Howard, to the point that he lost a life he created and you are losing your life, your reality that you created because you don't live your life REAL Love or you always look back in the past and re-live the past and makes you wish that you can turn back the time or you have unresolved issues with someone or something that you are scared to touch on to before you die, because you never know when your time is up?. Critics are like individuals like myself obviously, and individuals have opinions, and your opinion and my opinion are based on our own reality. So could it be that you are basically telling us your own reality?. I really hope both of y'all speaking on this video would reply to this lol

Honestly killing him wouldn't be that bad compared to how this sounds.

Wait... so Will Smith created the 3 spirits to help his white friend with their problems but the whole plot has no effect on himself.
    Will is a MAGIC NEGRO!
