    The Kenner Aliens toyline was supposed to be based on an animated series similar to Robocop and Rambo, it wasn't "ignoring the movies." There is supposedly one episode made but I don't believe it's been leaked.

    • @Pegwarmers
      @Pegwarmers  2 года назад +4

      Yeah, we talked about that they were based on cartoons, but that information wasn't known back in the days so it was very confusing to kids that saw the movies.

      Genndy Tartakovsky also attempted to make an Aliens animated series which never came to fruition.

    • @Takeshi357
      @Takeshi357 3 месяца назад

      I'm not sure if that's even true, I've also heard the whole thing is an urban legend and there were never any plans to make an animated series at all. We've all seen the screencaps from _some_ kind of animation but has anyone actually seen the animation itself? For all we know they could've made that to promote something else entirely. I would've assumed it was the toys but they just used clips from the actual movie in the toy commercials, too.

    Years ago, when I was a kid, my local KB Toys had a massive clearance salle of the billion and a half alien and predator peg warmers they had, so I cleaned out my piggy bank and got all of the predators for like $1.50 each, even that Spike Tailed one that I didn't care about because it didn't look like any of the ones in the movies.

      @@Pegwarmers heck yeah. I still have two of the helmets, specifically the ones modeled after the jungle Hunter and City Hunter. Only reason I have them is because they were stored in a cardboard command base my mom and I made, so they were saved from the yard sale that eventually claimed the figures themselves. Years in the attic reduced the base itself to a crumpled pile by the time I went looking for it again, but the helmets were still in there, much to my nostalgic delight, so I cleaned them up and gave the purple one a coat of silver paint to make it more movie accurate, and now they sit among a little display on my desk.

    Apone had a spring-loaded waist, you'd use that to chuck the grenades.
    Vasquez came with a pulse rifle...I believe the only pulse rifle in the entire line, which is weird.
    Bishop's secondary weapon looks to be a cattle prod, some toy designer referencing Brett's cattle prod from the first movie, no doubt.

    I need to be honest with you guys. I never paid attention to the Aliens vs Predators, Aliens, and Predators toys. I was really into the Star Wars, GI Joes, Transformers, Ghostbusters, Batman (Keaton versions toy line), Super Friends, X-Men, Robocop, Ninja Turtles, Star Trek The Next Generation, and so on. Anyways, guys, I wished I did collect.some of the Aliens and Predators toys. With this in mind, I wanted to say that since Pegwarmers with Kevin and Mike had Tony and Newt it made it a little more entertaining. Additionally, I also had an entertaining time when Kevin showed up for the GI Joe and Transformers episodes for Hack The Movies (or Tapes). Therefore, a combination of Pegwarmers and Hack the Movies- back to back- episodes can help the congruency of movies with toys... Anyhow, who cares, I probably had too much coffee this morning. Man, I like these podcast crossovers, as Tony the Tiger would say, "Grrrrreat."

    The Super Mario 64 thing is them trying to artificially inflate the price of older games. if you watch those sales, they are always to the same 3-4 people buying and selling to each other so as to set a precedent for the price being so high.
