I just realised that the reason Elisif is jarl, and it's the reason she can't be romanced, she isn't the true jarl, it's the possible child in her womb that's the jarl, she's just standing in as regent. Think about it, the game of dynasties and thrones is always about inheritance and bloodlines, she was recently married to the late jarl, and it's pretty clear that they were close, meaning they did the deed, but it doesn't show up in game bcs game mechanics, the game is usually supposed to take place within 2 maybe 3 months (in game) so there's no reason to give her a baby bump, plus she wears quite loose clothing, for comfort and the wellbeing of the baby in the oven. But that's just a theory, a game theory
It makes sense bcs otherwise the jarldom would've passed to the closest living relative of the late jarl, and true, these are nobles, so it is possible that Elisif was not just his wife but also his closest living relative, but in our history it isn't unheard of to crown a king or queen (or in this case jarl, which is the equivalent of a duke) while they are still in the womb
I would pick Ulfric over Trump. He at least was willing to get his hands dirty and not let others fight for him. He is willing to fight alongside his armies. Which no leader today is willing to do.

@@CameronKiesserdo u have any reason to question Trump's actions round kids? Because i seem to remember quite a lot of sniffing little girls from the other guy XD
*TLDR: Ulfric and Trump are similar at face value, and that’s about it.* I’m an independent, and I see Ulfric as a stronger version of Trump. Ulfric is essentially how Trump’s supporters view Trump to be. Donald Trump’s appeal varies from Ulfric’s charisma. Part of this is that Ulfric tries to appear poetic, whereas Trump doesn’t hide his bluntness. Another aspect to Ulfric’s charisma that I feel Trump lacks is that Ulfric Stormcloack shows a stronger ideological commitment than Trump. Much of Ulfric’s appeal is that he has a lot of reason to be angry. It’s deeply personal to him with all of his military experience and family history. As you mentioned, Trump didn’t serve in the US military, and doesn’t appear to have the religious/ideological passion that Ulfric has. Trump is also a wealthy businessman. Whatever struggles he’s faced in his life are completely alien to the working class. Being tortured by Elenwen, being misled to believe that his confessions under torture were instrumental to the defeat of his allies, his imprisonment, the death of his father, the feelings of guilt that he may have at the death of his father with the belief that his confessions under torture may have contributed to it, the belief that he would be redeemed through struggle and death… All of this is very personal to Ulfric. This makes it easy to sympathize with Ulfric. I don’t say this to disparage Trump, but he doesn’t have that intimacy with the political issues of the country.
"Oh hey I think this video might be fun" 26 minutes I think people these days are going so far with the post-irony that it loops back into being sincere
I’ve been thinking about this for months, the political struggle in Skyrim is so strangely providential of the situation we face now. It’s not a perfect comparison, but it’s so uncannily similar in so many ways that it’s uncomfortable and reeks of some sort of prophesy. This is probably why people get so worked up over the politics of skyrim, because it is actually about as accurate as possible to real politics as one can get in a video game.
I think they are interestingly similar and it's something worth talking about just for fun, but anyone wanting to look into it as any kind of intentional social commentary are debunked by the fact that the game predates Trump being involved in politics and as relevant culturally as he is now. I just think it's really weird and neat that a 13 year old game can be somewhat culturally relevant in a way that it wasn't when it came out.
I mean trump and ulfric are similar in how trump and hitler or trump and Mao zedong are. It’s a cult of personality born out of a population who desires change even if that means giving up rights or social norms. Fascism is alluring because when life sucks it’s easy to fantasize about “well once all the degenerates and j*ws are gone we will be happy!”
Well you can make the comparison that Talos is Jesus. The Thalmor who are essentially controlling the Empire banned the worship of him. A lot of inspiration from human races into the races in Skyrim.
Ulfric was a war hero, trump worked very hard to avoid ever fighting for his country. Ulfric shows true moments of doubt about what he’s doing and his own abilities especially when he’s talking with galmar. Meanwhile trump is a narcissist who never shows any humanity. Ulfric is eloquent, his speech to galmar in his hall is genuinely pretty moving and beautiful. Speaking with his friend about all the peoples he’s lost and of his disconnection with his own countrymen after the war (something that many veterans can connect too). Meanwhile trump is a rambling old man incapable of saying anything more complicated then a few slogans stringed together with what I assume is English but it’s hard too tell. If you side against Ulfric in the civil war you can meet him in the nord Afterlife and he shows true regret for all the death he has caused as he watches the souls of his countrymen be consumed by Alduin. I can’t imagine trump ever doing anything like that. And finally, Ulfric fights for freedom of religion. (Ignoring his oppression of the reachmen) Ulfric seems to truly believe in Talos worship and desires to end its oppression. Meanwhile trump claims to believe in Christianity but couldn’t quote a bible passage to save his life. He lives in open defiance of all of the teachings of Christ and if our worst fears come to pass he will work against religious freedom and pass laws forcing one version of Christianity of the rest of the country. Don’t compare Ulfric to trump. Ulfric is a terrible man who I kill in most of my play throughs. But Ulfric had dignity, he has humanity. Trump lacks all of those qualities and shares ALL of ulfrics bad qualities.
I never knew Skyrim's story. I lostened to a video titled "Skyrim's civil war is more complicated than you think".. i immediately came to the conclusion that Ulfric is the Donald.. Make Skyrim Great Again.
If Elder Scrolls 6 sucks, for obviously reason that have affected other beloved IPs as of late, every gamer that is "anti-trump" but loves elder scrolls will be screaming for him to do something about the gaming industry. After all, Bethesda showed with Skyrim that they can make a game that is beloved by all. Even the previous ES games have large numbers of fans that would fall on either side of the political aisle. When something that a person loves is destroyed or subverted to push a message that is associated with a political party, said person can have major shift in how they view politics. With great trepidation I am eagerly awaiting ES6 release.
The funniest thing is that Ulfric the Nord barbarian is more civilized, and actually has some sincere intentions and motives. He’s not out to ransack the treasury, proclaim himself King and then sell whatever is left of the country to the Falmor or the highest bidder, while destroying all civil rights. Ulfric isn’t mass deporting the Dunmer and never states he has any plans against them. Ulfric seems to actually care a great deal about traditions and laws, and even lets the DB convince him to not just attend the meeting at Hrothgar, but to participate and abide by the decisions made in cooperation with the Imperial, Blade and other groups. In short, I think I’m going to be spending a lot of time in the world of the Elder Scrolls the next few years, it’s a lot less scary than the world I live in now.
Being brutal honest and I myself think that the empire is the correct answer Ulfric is not necessary racist. The quote Skyrim belong to the nords does not mean automatically that everyone that’s not a nord can’t be on Skyrim.
@@uooooooooh it's more about wanting your homeland to be run by the natives of that honeland and not some foreigners from a supranational organisation (empire) that doesn't care about your province and just wants to keep skyrim subjugated and oppressed to extract resources and manpower for the wealth of the cyrodill elites and to use nords as canon-fodder for Cyrodills imperialist wars of expansion and defence from attacks by an angry new superpower that the empire's agression helped to create in the first place... nords are fine with the other races living in skyrim but just want to be ruled by other nords and honestly, what's wrong with that?. @@bbgamegodpnw That's also a matter of national security. Revealing these secrets to the Stormcloaks risks exposing their hand to the Thalmor themselves, as the Stormcloaks can not be trusted to keep secure such secrets, if they'd even believe them.

Make Elder Scrolls Great Again
Finally someone made a video about what I was thinking.
Ulfric on Andersen Copper-Born's Nirn @ Noon
"How would you describe your relationship with Argonians, Jarl?
"I have a great relationship with Argonians, as you possibly have heard. I just have great respect for them. And they like me. I like them. I mean come on."
Someone please make that SLEE-PY-JOE shout mod.🤣😂
Does Ulfric Storm cloak ever declare the Sloadic nation the first priority of Skyrim
I really appreciate the emphasis you put on staying unbiased and factual. This is a good video.
Did you miss the piece of lore where ulfric makes a living as a bard pretending to fire people?
Does that make the Thalmor Embassy Isreal?
At the end of everything, I think Ulfric is genuine - but Trump not, even if both share a lot in common.
I would pick Ulfric over Trump. He at least was willing to get his hands dirty and not let others fight for him. He is willing to fight alongside his armies. Which no leader today is willing to do.
Even though they both share a lot in common to a scary level, Ulfric just seems more genuine to me. I would leave kids in a room with Ulfric, but not Trump.
@@CameronKiesserdo u have any reason to question Trump's actions round kids? Because i seem to remember quite a lot of sniffing little girls from the other guy XD
Ulfric is not a rapist.
Lmao pipe down dork
Neither is trump. Alao, u should read about what the stormcloaks did to the women of the Reach.
*TLDR: Ulfric and Trump are similar at face value, and that’s about it.*
I’m an independent, and I see Ulfric as a stronger version of Trump.

Ulfric Stormcloak becomes High King of Skyrim but instead of giving everything back to the Nords he just imports a bazillion Redguards
Bethesda games are always relevant
Well you can make the comparison that Talos is Jesus. The Thalmor who are essentially controlling the Empire banned the worship of him. A lot of inspiration from human races into the races in Skyrim.

THEYRE EATING THE ALFIQS
Beautifully stated
I wish we had someone as devout about Christianity as Ulfric is about Talos. I side with him every playthrough

Skyrim is for the Nords!
I always didn't like his comparison to Caesar from FNV. They aren't even close.

Would americans feel comfortable having a chinese, russian or even just canadian president? Oh wait, it's literally written in the US constitution to make such a thing impossible... the vast majority of almost any population don't have a problem with educated and skilled immigrants who want to integrate into and meaningfully contribute to their new home but nobody wants to be ruled over by a decadent and declining empire (Soviet collapse, Brexit etc) or foreigners who don't care about the land they rule over and just want to extract resources and manpower from it.
