Hey man! Working through some fungus issues on my lawn as well, just put DiseaseEx down, fingers crossed. Just wanted to hop in here and let you know I appreciate the work you put into your vids! Takes a lot of time to get all those cuts, angles, audio, and especially the pace into the edit! Keep it up 👍
-Spencer (your friendly neighborhood RUclipsr lol)
Pixel & Bracket Hey Spencer! I appreciate the feedback! When I got on RUclips about a year ago I didn’t realize how much time I would actually spend making my videos the way I actually wanted them to look. Want to keep them interesting and easy to follow along you know! Thanks for the feedback! As far as the lawn goes, let’s see how the disease ex works out and don’t worry, fall will be here in about 4-6 weeks with cooler temps and rain will return. I have a big video coming about aerating the lawn and overseeding. This video will help anyone take back their lawn in the fall! Stay tuned!
Garage Gear pretty convinced it’s dollar spot in our back yard, but ya 99% sure we’re aerating this fall
Pixel & Bracket do it! You won’t regret it!
Great advice- thank you !!!
Thanks for watching Aaron!
Thanks for the Video...from Wichita,Ks...😎
Gregg Adams you got it Gregg! Thanks for watching!
My exact problem! Going to use DiseaseEX Thank you!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching
JB❤H on the sidewalk. Someone was in the doghouse...
Thanks for the video. Your lawn looks great!
Haha yeah ya got me lol! Thanks for watching Whitie! You ROCK! How’s Vermont treating you?
@@GarageGear Vermont is great. Very similar to where you are as far as weather. The world is at a place I've never seen before. I'm trying to just keep my mouth shut and be patient to see what happens. The United States appears to be a hot mess with how everyone is treating each other. I hope all is well with you in your neck of the woods.
Whitie in Vermont totally agree! What a mess! I’m doing exactly the same as you! Everything is good here. Stay safe my friend!
Great video! Dialing in a solid lawn plan takes a few seasons of learning and trial and error. I’ve been missing the fungicide element from my plan and just ordered this stuff. I’ve got an issue mostly in my front yard that hopefully will be eradicated. I’m guessing I should apply this annually in early June and maybe agajn in Early August.
That’s probably a good plan tdz! Thanks for watching!
Awesome
Glad you found this video helpful Martin! Thanks for watching! 👍
good video very informative i been treating for grubs but it was a fungus the whole time appreciate the information 👍🏽👍🏽
Yep fungus is odd stuff! My best advice is to dig around any odd spots that show up. If you find grubs, you got a grub problem. If you find no grubs then it’s more than likely a fungus issue. Thanks for checking out my channel!
@@GarageGear thanks bro
@@miykhael no problem my friend! Have fun!! 👍
Dollar spot is one common fungus (you even mentioned in the lead-in) that this product doesn’t really treat.
Thanks for watching!
Makes me wish I had a decent size lawn.
Flint Layfield you can do a lot with any size lawn! I would actually love to have a small lawn for a change because right now I have to buy two bags of everything. Basically everything costs me double. Hope you’re staying safe bud!
Garage Gear good point.
Thanks GarageGear - How much should you water during the summer? I live in the Northern VA area. I have fescue that I believe is beginning to show signs of disease. Although, it could also be stress from sun. Either way, I am so concerned about either over or under watering. How do you know the best water schedule for your lawn? I have a small lawn 600-650 sq ft.
Chris Arnold great questions here! Typically I try to water twice a week. I try to put down 1/2 inch of water during each watering. Shoot for 1” per week! Usually I’ll do Monday And Friday one week then the following Tuesday and Thursday. I’ll keep flipping the weeks all summer long. Consistency is key. We have had some high temps all around the country lately. It’s no surprise issues start to pop up in lawns at this time. Stay consistent with your deep and infrequent watering and that should hold you over until the fall. I have a video coming out on this soon. Thanks for watching!
Got any ideas of how to repair a lawn after it has been devastated by brown patch? It’s about to be August in Virginia.
At this point, the damage is done. You can try seeding lightly and watering 1.5 inches per week to see if it bounces back. In early September I do a huge lawn make over every year. I aerate, overseed and fertilize and in about ten days the lawn is looking good again. Temperatures have to come down a little. Stay tuned for that video. You could use disease x to slow or stop it further. Keep me posted and thanks for watching!
Me too. Middle Tennessee
Can you add on a wet lawn or does it have to dry up. We’ve been getting a descent amount of rain. And Im wondering if I should let it dry before I add it.
Adding it to a wet lawn isn’t necessarily bad. The product has to be watered in. As long as it rains after you put it down, you’re good! Thanks for watching!
Applying grub control next week/ late May. When should I apply the fungus control granulated?
Thanks
Watch your temps as they start to shift. Especially when the humidity spikes. Get it down ahead of that time and you should be good to go.
@@GarageGear must apply every 30 days for prevention? I have no issues at this time mid June. Much appreciated
Can you use a hand spreader for this? Like you do for weed and feed.
Billie McCauley yep that would work!
Hi JB. my lawn is looking fantastic since I started your program. This is the first yea (boy these products are exprnsive, lol) Now coming to this video, I do not have any disease spots, but was thinking about putting disease x down, is that still ok, or will I hurt the lawn? I do put down for grubs every year though.
Hey Yolanda! Great to hear from you again! If your area is about to see fluctuations in temperatures / humidity it would be a good idea to put down some disease x! Grub x now is a good idea. Fertilizers are getting really expensive with the crazy inflation. I’m working on a diy homemade fertilizer at the moment. More to come on that! Stay tuned!
Is it OK to put on my newly installed Zoysia? Installed March 2021 and its pretty well rooted. Thanks!
I would say you’re good to go! How does the new lawn look? Thanks for checking out my channel David!
@@GarageGear looking great! Thanks for the info.
@@davidconway945 you got it my friend! 👍
Do I have to dig up the existing brown grass first or just put it on top of it?
corey stanford I would just put it right top. No digging required. I will find it’s way down as you water it in. Thanks for watching!
question, after you apply scotts diseasex fungcide do you continue with your normal watering for the week?
Yes absolutely! Like most other products you’ll want to get that watered in!
Do you prefer granule over liquid or either one is good? I would believe liquid gets you quicker results? Much appreciated
Liquid does get quicker results. Hoses can be a pain on my corner lot though.
Sorry to bother. Got another question. How long do I wait to seed the dead areas?
Billie McCauley no worries at all. This can depend on the weather/climate of your area. I replanted some grass right away and watered quite a bit in hot temps and it came right up. If your temps are too high wait until fall and do a thorough overseeding.
Good video. New Home owner so just now learning about lawn fungus. I just thought I wasn't watering it enough lol.
But question, I'm out of town I noticed the spots getting larger and I wouldn't be back home for a month so I had someone put that stuff down. Problem is they put it down a week ago and it's not supposed to rain until tomorrow. And my grass got cut yesterday, so it it still going to soak in when the rain comes or is it too late?
Hey Antoine! Congrats on the new house. 2 things. 1. If the spots are getting bigger you may want to take a shovel and just dig up a small section or two. Peel the turf/dirt back and check for grubs if there are no grubs simply put the turf back and it will be fine. If there are grubs put down a 24 hour grub killer and soak it in. That should stop them from causing more damage. I don’t think this is your case but it’s worth a check. 2. The fungicide should be fine if it gets watered in later. Optimally you want to water it in right away but you should still get some decent results with it. Additional applications may be required. Keep an eye on it for a few weeks. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching bud! 👍
@@GarageGear thanks. I had to look up to see what grubs were, like I said I'm new to this lol. Hopefully that's not what it is. I won't be home for a few weeks but put this product is in the grass and it finally rained so I will keep an eye to see if it gets better. If not I'll put another dose down when I male It back home.
Thanks for your help. I'll be looking at your fertilizer videos next 😊
@@bengals098558 sounds good my friend! If you have any questions about the fertilizing playlist just ask! Have fun watching!👍
@@GarageGear How much time apart between an application of fungicide and a grub killer is necessary? Thank you
@@RoyalHam none! Put them both down and water them in. Won’t bother each other or hurt a thing. Thanks for watching!
New home owner here and the grass was BEAUTIFUL when we moved in but now it's showing gross patches. Did some research and found you! Thanks so much for the info! My only question is, is this harmful to dogs if they walk on it after being watered?
Hey Angel! Congrats on the new home! Shouldn’t be a problem if it’s watered in well! Throw it down before a heavy rainstorm possibly and you’ll be good!
@@GarageGear thank you for getting back to me!! Unfortunately we're in the desert so we don't get rain here however we do have a sprinkler system with a timer so we'll put it down right before they go off! We're going to change the amount of watering as well. Watching your video and the comments suggest watering twice a week when we're watering everyday. Probably the cause of the fungus. Thanks again!!
I have some brown spots from a whitish looking color on lawn from heavy rain. Can I use this maybe after removing dead grass? It's like 80 degrees now I don't want to wait or will it be useless
I’d say go for it! Thanks for watching!
Hey man! After how many weeks I can start use fertilizer again? I use that product for fungus on my lawn
Hey Edgar, this product isn’t a fertilizer. It’s a fungicide. So that means you can fertilize at anytime you’d like and it won’t interfere with your fertilizing schedule. Thanks for watching!
can you mix the disease x in with the fertilizer ???
Good question! I would not recommend mixing this with fertilizer in your spreader. Put them down separately. You will get uneven coverage if you do. Thanks for watching 9th child! 👍
is it is safe to use it next to my garden where the vegetables will grow? Also can I apply it with the scots premergent as well? If not when? thx!
Hey muso! I would avoid your garden area by a few feed! I don’t trust any chemicals near my gardens. I would only apply this when your temperatures start to shift and you starting having some muggy days or nights. That’s when lawn fungus will kick in! Thanks for watching
@@GarageGear what about premergent can they be in the ground at the same time?
@@musomuso yep both of them at the same time is fine. Won’t harm a thing.
New subscriber, great video. I have a question, I have the same earthway spreader and I have to constantly keep opening and closing the chute in order for the product to come out of the spreader. I’ll start spreading and then I look down and see nothing coming out so I have to close the chute and then open and then the product starts coming out again and this keeps having Have you ever experienced the same issue? Or have any suggestions? Any thought would be great appreciate it
Hey Sal! Depends on the product I’m putting out! Sometimes larger pellets can clog it up. Finer stuff is usually okay. If it clogs bounce it a little to break it up. Also check your components underneath to see if anything needs tightening. Let me know what you find out. Thanks for watching Sal!
I just put fertilizer down yesterday. If I go get this product today will it hurt any if I put it down
Nope won’t hurt a thing! Go for it! Thanks for watching!
Is late March / early April to early to apply?
Good question! Depends on where you live. I’m in Buffalo NY! Where are you located? My time to put it down it usually in late May!
Is it better to cut the grass before applying this
Good question! You could cut the grass and then apply this product. That’s would be a good plan!
Could i put this down and in a couple of days use a liquid green? Ty
Yep shouldn’t hurt a thing.
We’ve gotten about 8 inches of rain in the past 2 weeks and i fear I’ve got this going on. Is it ok to lay this down in the summer?
Absolutely go for it! I know some people that put this down once a month in the summertime. Thanks for watching rye!
@@GarageGear thanks for the reply!
Can you disease x down and then over seed?
That would be fine! Won’t harm anything
Thanks
Can I use it in November
That may depend on where you live and your climate. I’m in Buffalo NY. My time frame to use this is between late May and August! Thanks for watching.
Did you have to water it in?
Yes watering this product in is a good idea. Thanks for watching!
Does it burn grass?
As long as you follow the rates on the bag you should be fine. Thanks for watching!
In 0:57 I know all I need to about you and have ZERO desire to subscribe based on 0:57. Were paid for this video by a "sponsor"? You made everything VERY clear. Good vid minus the porn music.
Can this be applied alongside fertilizer? I want to add summer fertilizer to my lawn and this as a preventive. Should I space them out ? Thanks
J M you can apply this along with a fertilizer! No need to space them out. Thanks for watching!
Garage Gear thanks 🙏🏼
Did it work 3 yrs later
This product worked for the season it was used for. It does not last for 3 years lol!
@@GarageGear oh
You’re kind of the Chrisfix of lawn care . Check him out. You’ll see. He’s a youtuber
J M yep seen him before! Good RUclips channel.
So should I not apply in the mid summer
You can apply this in summer but the best thing to do is watch for the temperature and humidity changes. When you see those coming, get it down. That’s usually when lawn fungus and disease tend to act up. Thanks for watching!
@@GarageGear awesome thank you so much for your help !!
Didn't work for me!

Save time having to use a leaf lower, and waste of product with a drop spreader. I don't know why everyone wastes their money buying broadcast spreaders.
